This is fresh TH-cam content, hot off the presses! Not one of those stinky stream VODs!
I brought back Slay the Spire to the stream this week for a little shot of nostalgia. Looks like I haven't lost a step...but I'm not sure I gained one either. Check it out!
I actually enjoy this complete chaos of random games now. Some FTL, slay the spire, golf some co-op with dan sprinkled here and there. You kind of don't know what to expect and I find myself clicking on NL's videos more often now. :)
Lol same, i also love the commentary. Imo him memeing and interacting with chat is a lot more entertaining than the hyper-analytical isaac commentaty
I actually watch way more when he bounces back and forth between games, I like ftl, but I don't wanna watch 10 hours of it in a week, but if he plays a couple games, then I'm down. I really hope we see some other roguelikes comeback, I'd love to see a little bit of Hades, Monster Train, and One Step From Eden (a personal fav of mine)
I like it a bunch. It's actually been my philosophy to games the last couple months and it's great not burning out.

Between this and ftl I'd love to see a series of ghost of rogue likes past where NL travels back through his previous series to replay them with his new dad energy

Whenever I have the urge to backseat his plays, I remind myself, “Self, this man’s just trying to have fun and play some Slay the Spire. Chill” and the urge vanishes. I highly recommend trying it

These last few weeks are like a dream come true. FTL AND Slay the Spire daily!?? I literally can't think of anything else I'd rather watch. These recent revisits of the old classic series are fantastic.

Honestly, the old games coming back is what got me watching you regularly again. I don't mind seeing new ones per se (SNKRX for instance), but seeing FTL come back got me very excited and basically got me back on the Egg Train.

Why is NL so cracked at this game? I've got maybe 50+ hours in and everything he does seems just like a second thought. What an absolute god of a gamer.
That's where you're mistaken. He doesn't think to begin with. Just impulse choices that most of the time lead to his demise. I mean come on, if you play a game worth of 600 episodes you're bound to win enough times to reach and win Ascension 20 regardless of how good you are or not.

Skipping Concentrate in act 1 was a massive loss. Hopefully NL gives a try at discard combos a little more in the future, I think the Reflexes just became curses in his mind.

I miss solo lion in the spire. It was my favorite series of all time. Watched every episode and liked many hoping to help keep it going
The beauty of roguelites is that they are replayable. So, seeing these games back is pretty damn nice.

I went back recently to Enter the Gungeon and I can say you still feel that same rush of endorphins when you get a pogged out gun. Would love to see you go back to it even for a bit.
Night of the Full Moon might be something fun for you to try. It's basically the same play format as slay the spire, but it has a cute story

oh bespoke youtube spire?? its been a while
I admit that in the past I've been one of the obnoxious commenters saying "NL you did this wrong, you did that wrong"; but I only did that for Monster Train. Eventually I realized that fixating onto mistakes like that was just stressing me out for no reason, so I stopped watching streamers/youtubers play games that I was better at. I still watch NL's StS because I'm really on about the same skill level, so even though I notice some mistakes while he plays I can sort of "rest easy" knowing that I'd fuck up just as badly in my own special way if I were playing, if that makes sense.

If you're in a place of revisiting bangers, you should consider Darkest Dungeon as well! I'm playing through it again because im pumped for the sequel, and its always nice to be playing the same game as you when listening :)
