I don’t think the lord wants it that way. I was under the impression that you had to accept Jesus and repent for your sins and acknowledge them and try and do better .

    I just now commented on Kwaku's youtube channel and interacted with some other comments. Found out Kwaku doesnt want this video public....WHY? He permanently banned me from his channel because I commented with the link of this video and other comments telling others to check out Apologia's response, but he banned me in a way that hides my comments from others. I can still comment on his video BUT, no one can see my comments except for myself when logged into my channel. How I found out about this is that I also have a second channel. I logged into that channel to check out my notifications and happened to go back to the video I commented on Kwaku's channel. Thats when i noticed my comments did not appear in the comments section. I logged back into my other channel and there it was! Which means Kwaku is hiding users who's comments disagree with his videos. I'm sure he did not ban you because he knows you will call him out publicly if he were to hide your comments on his videos. Just a heads up if anyone decided to comment on his videos. Keep up the good work!

    • @Leatherwoodoutdoors2
      @Leatherwoodoutdoors2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      FYI, here is my second channel. So the fact that I can comment under my own comment from another channel proves I have not been banned from Apologia, but I cannot do this under Kwaku's youtube channel because he has hidden both of my channels from interaction on his videos.

    Personal attacks happen when a person can't stand within their own arguments. When Kwaku starts to see his position falter, he goes the personal attack route. Sad. Yes to Proverbs 18:2.

    "Your arguments are poor. And the reason that they're poor is that you're not grounded in the word of the living God. You're not getting your position from Scripture. You've gotten your arguments from culture." -Jeff Durbin (1:18:25)
    Very powerful statement. Especially in the context it was said (around 1:12:27). It's a hard word. Pray that God would soften Kwaku's heart to receive this correction and ultimately find rest for his soul in the one true Jesus.

      Black Dahlia It is the weight of the evidence. Kwaku provides a shady website that says Jeff has 11 arrest records. Anyone with reason and logic would know not to rely upon the top hit in a Google search to ascertain any type of truth. Kwaku provides Jackson as a “witness” yet Jackson doesn’t read any of the direct email correspondents with Apologia church, he just summarizes. Also, there is video evidence of how kind Dr. White was to Jackson outside the Mesa Temple. Apologia provided the Biblical requirement of two or three lines of witness and Kwaku was found wanting. It’s a shame. The debate is available to watch anytime and Kwaku even states in the video that “Dr. White is a charitable man” now he sits in mockery and uses condescending voices that would make Steven Anderson blush with embarrassment.

    If you are dealing with someone who is already up to his neck in deception, did you really think you would
    come away feeling good?
    No, with people in cults you often come away feeling almost violated, and misrepresented.
    They will swear that day is night if it suits their purpose. In the end it degenerates into " he said, she said."
    This is to distract from any issues of substance.
    The way forward is to detach from them, just as you would detach from someone with an addiction,
    in order to protect yourself.
    Kwaku is not interested in truth. Until he is you are wasting your time on him.

  • @skippy8696

    Kwaku is an extremely dishonest and disingenuous person. He bans anyone (including myself) from his comment section for simply disagreeing and/or refuting him. He also heavily edits his comments as well. For instance, he pinned a comment from a fellow Mormon and then made it so nobody could refute the comment itself. This explains why his comment section looks like one big Mormon echo-chamber. It didn't occur organically, he deliberately orchestrated it to make it appear that way.
    All I did was point out the fact that he's had numerous opportunities to understand the orthodox Christian view of the trinity, even to the point where the information has been practically spoonfed to him, yet he continues to misrepresent it. That's literally all I said. No abuse, vulgar language or personal attacks on his character, nothing. This along with everything he said about James White and Jeff just validates my initial point in this post. Shame on you, Kwaku.

    Kwaku did misrepresent how he was treated on Apologia Radio. I watched that entire episode myself and was surprised to hear Kwaku's later remarks regarding both James White and Jeff Durbin. However, I cannot say I am really that surprised by his "turn about" either. By his own testimony, Kwaku admitted on the show that he was raised as something of a "confused" non-denominational youth without a grounding in Scripture, Theology, or Church History. Without pursuing any higher biblical education (college or seminary), he became doubtful of the historic Christian faith. At some point he encountered the LDS Church and seems to have had some kind of "personal conversion" to the false religion of Mormonism. The fact is that Kwaku did a very messy job of defending the polytheism of his religion because he lacks an understanding of the discipline of biblical studies and theology. So I think after he did the program he felt that he needed to portray himself as the victim of these "mean Calvinists." It does show a lack of personal integrity on Kwaku's part. Pray for him. He remains a very lost and deceived soul. Amen.

    I know I'm 3 weeks late but do you think maybe Kwaku's complete 180 on events might be down to pressure from his church? He seems to be so dishonest and far from the guy who was talking via your emails/msgs that it feels very much that he has been persuaded. Maybe some of his church members didn't like their representation despite it being clear it was his views?
    At the same time, being totally honest I don't know why but the fact this has come out like this doesn't surprise me too much. During the conversation Kwaku was acting a little disrespectful and far from humble at times and I saw Dr. White pick up on it - it wasn't that he got angry but he clearly was taken aback by Kwaku's lack of respect and it did change the level of his patience with him. It wasn't anything extreme but I've never seen Dr. White like that and he's obviously encountered much opposition in discussion so it wasn't the content but just Kwaku's manner at times.

    Is saving faith just believing in God? If I just believe that Jesus is God will God save me? If I'm living in adultery and I believe in Jesus but have no desire to stop my sin of adultery will God save me. That's saving by faith alone. But what about my sins? If I continue in my sins with no intentions of repenting of my sins ever but I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God will God save me? That's salvation by Faith alone or belief alone. Does that make since? Of course not. If repentance of sin is not required by God for salvation then why ever stop sinning? I can get saved without repenting just believing, once I believe according to faith alone I'm saved but I never turned away from sin. Does sin separate us From God? Why did Jesus die on the cross? To remove our sin. But will Jesus' blood remove the sins of someone who completely believes Jesus is God but hates God because they believe God didn't protect them as a child when they were being sexually molested? The Bible says that demons had total faith in Jesus, they knew Jesus was God, they believed. Will the demons be saved? The Bible asks the question in James 2:14 can just believing without works save you? "What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith alone but does not have works? Can faith alone save him? Does this verse sound like the Bible teaches the faith alone doctrine? Read on in James 2 verse 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works is dead. Does it make sense to say that faith alone can somehow save us before were saved but after were saved faith alone can't save us? Where does the Bible teach that? All the passages in the Bible that teach about faith alone condem it. The Bible only says faith alone is dead. That must be applied when one is trying to use faith by itself in order to receive salvation. Can you receive salvation from a dead faith? Can you receive salvation from a faith that is lacking, not whole, not complete? James 2:22 Cleary teaches that it is works that makes your faith in Christ perfect or complete? Can a imperfect faith save you? Will God save a person if God has not justified that person? We must be made just in order to be saved. James 2:24 says faith alone will not justify you, but works is what brings justice to save you. Only Justified people can be saved. "You see then that a man is JUSTIFIED by works, and not by faith alone."
    The very first gospel sermon preached to the Jews was Acts chapter 2, listen to Peter tell the Jews the gospel, Acts 2:37-38 "Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men and fellow Jews, what shall we do?" Now listen to what Peter tells them, does he say just have Faith alone and you'll be saved? No. Verse 38 "Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Believing, repenting, and being baptized are all commands of God. We must obey Gods commands in order to receive salvation. Do you think you can not obey Gods commands and be saved? No way, impossible.

    • @RR-et6sh
      @RR-et6sh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the problem with the false doctrine of faith alone, it teaches that no obedience to Gods commands is required to be saved. Just ignore James, just ignore Peter's sermon in Acts 2:38. We must OBEY the gospel in order to be saved. No where in just one verse in Romans or any other verse in the Bible will you find the complete entire gospel of salvation. John 3:16 says nothing about what Peter commands to do, to be saved in Acts 2:38. John 3:16 only mentions believing, and we know that's not the whole gospel because of of what is taught in James chapter 2. Many mistake Romans 10:13 as the whole gospel, they misinterpret that verse to say faith alone saves you. Did you know there is a verse in the Bible that explains what "calling on the name of the Lord literally is?" Its Acts 22:16" And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord." Friends that's a direct command from God and we must obey God! Saving Faith is believing and obeying the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Here is the true Biblical gospel of Jesus: Hear the word Romans 10:17,) 2. Believe the Word: John 8:24) 3. Repent of sins Luke 13:3,5 Acts 2:38) 4. Confess publicly that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God: Matthew 10:32,33 "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven." An example of confessing Christ is found in Acts 8:37, 5. Baptized for the remission of sins Acts 2:38. And finally be faithfull until death Revelation 2:10 If you will obey the gospel God will add you to His church Acts 2:47 "praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved." The Lords church is stated in Romans 16:16

Christian denominations that may vary on secondary issues but all hold the same canon and profess the same core doctrines can very much be "one church". Your question seems to imply that you believe differently (I apologize if I am misinterpreting your question), and if so why do you believe differently?
      Most Christians from a wide variety of church traditions that I lnow recognize they may not have 100% correct doctrine but are as close as they can with their current understanding.
      This whole question turns on how you define church. So, as you ask that question, what definition of "church" are you using?

      Jehovis witnesses are christians. However who they actually beleive jehova is is completely different to who other christians beleive he is. Thats a fundamental difference
      Thats wot im talking about. You have all these different churches, most of them christians who all read the same bible, who are all in conflict with each other and all contradict each other. Only one of them can be right
      There are over 100 sects of christianity. How can that be ? There should only be one. U say that there are only slight differerences between them but i disagree. Theres fundamental differences. And even if there was only slight differences that wouldnt cut it with me. There shouldnt be ANY differences

      @@oscarduke639 Oscar Duke Oscar Duke this is exactly why I asked you to define church. I disagree wholeheartedly that Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians, nor is it a Christian church.
      If you note, I said denominations that agree on the same core doctrines and have the same canon - the same set of books and documents they consider holy scripture. In the case of the Christian church, it is the series of books known commonly as the Old Testament and New Testament.
      Since you refuse to define your term church, I can only reply that you assume anyone who says they are a Christian is, and that is a definition I simply disagree with at a fundamental level - not just for the terms "church" or "Christian" but for just about label or distinguishing marker. Labels are only useful if they have a criteria to indicate what is within and without the group. That is why I ask for a definition of church.
      I do know what I believe the Bible means by Christ establishing his church, but I certainly don't know what you believe it means, which is why I ask.
      For the record, my definition is loosely something like: "church" can mean multiple things, from local congregations, specific denominations, as well as the global assembly/community of Christian believers either alive now or throughout history. This assembly is distinguished by a common belief in basic Christian tenets including the Trinity, the salvific purpose of Jesus' death and resurrection, that this salvation is received by the believer by faith in Jesus as savior alone, the Bible (Old and New Testaments) alone are God's inspired word to the world concerning salvation and God's plan throughout history, that the salvation of a believer leads to eternal life, Jesus will return to Earth to usher in the new creation. There may be other doctrines I might consider core, but hopefully this list gives you an idea of what I mean.
      With that in mind, in one way there are many churches - local congregations and different denominations - that actually composes THE church - the global assembly of believers throughout history. In that way, there may be many disagreements about certain interpretations and ideas, but they remain the same in the core beliefs. Those who step outside of those beliefs do not fall inside the Christian church. This is certainly a bit difficult because non-believers can be quite active in a local congregation or within a denomination. Which is why, also, I asked what definition you were using.

At first its okay they say that because of joseph smith the words of god's is restored and I wasn't totally aware of that thinking how bad humanity is and as they come and go I learn new things and saying that we are saved through the atonement of christ and I totally agreed that is my basic knowledge about God. Mormons are really good their intentions is good. One time they shared something about pre-existence and they say we already exist in a spirit realm before we are born and they say jesus christ is our brother and I said okay and then after we are spiritual siblings and satan also is our spiritual siblings and make my fundamental knowledge wrong and made me confused. And because I read again the bible I already done understanding bible through clips and animations but also reading but more on watching animation. They are so good and there's one time that I was talking about someone who told me that mormons believe that they will be god someday and I told them its not right ? I had been dating an LDS gal for some time and have researched their religion for years. Just a few thoughts...LDS people need to understand the IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS of Christ. They only partly understand one side of the atonement; that Jesus died for their sins, but have NO IDEA of the other side of what Jesus did FOR US. If they can understand that, then all their worthiness, works, obedience to laws and ordinances melt like butter. Second, I love you Jeff and James, but there was a large portion of the debate, if I remember correctly, where you got into the weeds concerning predestination and the trinity which won't speak to a latter day saint AT ALL. You might as well be speaking a foreign language to them. Their narrative has been pounded into their head of what they are supposed to believe, not what scripture teaches. It's why even the most educated LDS can't even come close to seeing that their own Book of Mormon teaches that their is ONE GOD (modalism) and that Joseph started teaching something completely contrary to what their own scriptures teach.
    But please keep up the outreach to the mormons. They need to hear the love of Christ and what he did for them!

      Ryan Johnson - Ryan, thank you for your comment. There is a past with her, a divorce and other family ties to the church, but she is straddling many fences trying to make it fit in her life. She knows a lot of doctrine and is fairly well read but not well enough. For if she knew the history and followed the theological thread on a timeline there would be serious problems for her worldview. Obviously, I have issues as well as a follower of Christ and is why our relationship won’t last much longer. In the LDS mind, the church MUST be true so the mental gymnastics are constantly going off to make everything fit. Only time will tell. Having said all that she is actually a gospel doctrine teacher so as of late last year and this year she has been studying the Bible but constantly misses the theological obvious doctrines which conflict with hers. It’s reading with rose colored glasses for sure.

    Religious debates are as much about scriptural interpretation as they are about anything. I didn’t think 2 on 1 wasn’t fair, but he agreed. Kwaku, IMO, wasn’t prepared. But I get why Jeff brought James White on, Jeff can’t come close to James on the epic resource James is. Although I’ve read where James has incriminated himself on sola scriptoria. I guess he can’t pretend to be right all the time by flooding his combatants with massive volumes of needless information and constant side-tracking. I’d love to se Jeff talk to a couple more suitable opponents by himself with at least one of them being at least as well versed as James White.

    Thanks to The Ninja, the Bear and the Girl for responding in such a firm, forthright and genuine way to that young man. Me thinks he doth protest too much. Perhaps he is under a great deal of conviction by the Holy Spirit to repent and be saved on account of your kindness AND your honest, loving, firm rebuke. Be blessed my brothers and sister. Coram Deo!

    My problem with both Kwaku and ya’lls lines of thinking is that they are both backed up with with fallacy… kwaku definitely quotes scriptures out of context… but when he points out gaps in your definition of the trinity, you simply adjust definitions of words in order to redefine things in a way that covers up the hole in the logic.

    The problem with mainstream religions is that everyone of them think that they are right, especially with the Christian mainstream religion where you have many different divisions amongst its faith now. I don't know how it got that way, but i'd imagine that it wasn't Jesus's vision to have his name being represented in this manner and have all this infighting take place for centuries on who is more right.

    So in the attitude of “honest representation” should we change the debate name to “Intense debate with a Latter Day Saint?” Since they are no longer Mormons?

    • @KEP1983
      @KEP1983 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That's a good question, because the name "Latter Day Saint" itself is a misrepresentation. "Saint" refers to Christians, and Mormons/LDS aren't Christians.

      Keith P Technically that is true, but as a title in respect to what they referred to themselves as, even though it’s not true, should we still represent them accurately by calling them but they call them selves. Like we call Muslims, Or Jehovah’s Witnesses. We know that they are not really Jehovah’s witnesses, but we still give them their representation because that is what they Call them selves.

      I don't believe it's necessary for those that are not LDS to change the way we refer to the Mormon church. Mr. Nelson, the church president has commanded members of his church to use the official name, however, as I am not a member of that church, I am not subject to the rules or regulations set forth by any church president.

    You have to be super careful with the "2-3 witnesses" rule when an accusation is made against an Elder, otherwise you end up with a mess like the Jehovah's Witnesses.

    I’m just watching all these videos on these exchanges between both groups, and the only conclusion I can draw is he is still a child in some ways and lacks experience, which lends to his overall lack of integrity. If he was a grown man, he’d have addressed this on air on the spot. Instead, he acted like he was being above board, but returned to his safe space among his viewership to slander and whine. These are the actions of a child and a liar. It’s sad, because he had represented himself decently at first. I’m neither Calvinist or Mormon, but just an obvious observation that this man suffers from two diseases - Youthful inexperience and feminist victimhood instilled in the culture of this generation.

    My only issue with what y’all said today really isn’t an issue. However, I think it should be voiced. When Kwaku introduced himself on FB Messenger, and said “Hey I’m Kwaku from the 3 Mormons.” He was most likely referencing something that y’all would know him from. It’s not that big of a deal but, you know he is going to mention it in his response.
