Did God lie in Psalm 82 when he called men that received his word gods, speaking it into existence, even if they weren't gods before? And Jesus Christ also when he used it as a defense against an accusation of blasphemy for saying he is the Son of God in John 10: 34-36? Or was Jesus Christ lying when he said that he and the Father are two separate men in John 8: 17-18? No, of course not. Nor was he lying when he said no other gods were made before or after God. For God is plural, encompassing many true gods, from multiple generations. That is the only way Hod and Jesus Christ aren't liars, destroying the Bible, and with it the Trinity. Is by having everything they say be true, still destroying the man made Trinity. You find the church that teaches this and you have the Jesus Christ of the Bible. All others teach a false Jesus Christ, and are an abomination to God. But I believe you already knew this, and have been intentionally bearing false witness.
I absolutely LOVE how Apologia cares so much for the Mormons, you can feel it…they are truly amazing disciples of Jesus Christ!🥹 We♥️love our fellow Mormon Family, I hope we all continue to pray for them & continue to share biblical truth & connect with them. They are good people & I believe most of them truly do want to know God’s truth. Let’s not give up on each other. When I was Mormon, God pursued my heart & never gave up on me, he showed me the truth because I was searching for it. Anyone truly searching for Gods truth, I promise you, God WILL show it to you, it may not be easy, but trust me, JESUS IS WORTH IT!😉 Thank you Jesus for this channel & the incredible work these men of God are doing to help bring home the lost. God is so good!💪 🙏🥹♥️ Praise Jesus! God Bless🙏♥️✝️
As a recent ex-Mormon, this was painful to watch. I know exactly how he felt and my heart breaks for him. Hopefully this will plant the seed for him and his heart/mind will open.
May God continue to bless you, brother. Hope you stick around with Apologia. Also, welcome to the family. You are loved by God and this adopted family welcomes you with open hearts. God bless.
@@austinsoper192 I've known of a few LDS and also a Jehovas witness who all end up feeling they can't trust themselves in matters of faith. As far as discernment. It's a typical thing that can come out of that when much of the language is the same and it's tied to the Bible. I hope you aren't going through that in any heavy way. That's a hard position to be in. Luckily just studying sermons and mostly taking in the word from the source can chop away those thorns. Stay strong in the faith, brother. Be a fighter. @@djadams7795 aren't you a blind self righteous Pharisee. I testify that the truth will be known when we each one step into eternity. To go there with a false Jesus Christ will be a damning thing. The cleverest of lies always has a little truth mixed in. The grandest scheme Satan ever planted was to get souls to question the Holy Bible. And here we are.
Called an LDS missionary to my house today to share the gospel! I’m so glad I did it! More I learn about Mormon doctrine, the more I realize it’s completely different than the biblical reality.
As a previous LDS missionary, and a member of the LDS church who is still practicing happily, I genuinely appreciate your care for those missionaries and desiring their salvation. Although, speaking from experience I'm sure they had most likely heard it all before and weren't phased 😅 it's always good to learn about each other, though!
@@danieltye2111 yes, traditions are a hard thing to break away from. I can show them clear contradictions and it doesn’t phase them. It’s truly amazing how the LDS church has a grip on their followers. Because if you are to leave, the church and their members typically disown you entirely. I live in St. George. My family is Mormon. So I completely understand the culture. Many things I respect about LDS members, but their core tenants are in total contradiction to scripture and history. God wasn’t a sinner like Joseph Smith said. God has been God from everlasting to everlasting. You can never become a god. I say this with respect and love. You must worship Christ in spirit and truth. And sadly, the LDS church teaches about a false Christ.

You could say the same thing about the Trinity or any other major "mainstream" Christian doctrine. Easy-believism. Reformed theology is just disgusting. There is a quote that says something like, "Who needs Satan when you have the God of John Calvin."
You truly are gifted Jeff please never stop witnessing. I've learned more from you and the likes of Voddie, wretched tv, James White etc on youtube then I have attending "church" for 20+ years.
Be careful when listening to Calvinists, they teach one has to be regenerated before they can even hear the gospel and believe it, the epistles teach the opposite. See Ephesians 1:13. Spirtual life is when one is born again, receiving the Holy Spirit, not before one hears the gospel, which is how one receives faith, see Romans 10:17;Acts 10; Galtians 3:2 Ephesians 2:8-9.
Greg Blevins what a misrepresentation. We believe that God must turn our hearts of stone into a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26) before we can do anything that’s pleasing to Him. We believe that No one can come to the Son unless the Father draws him (John 6:44).
@@Rightlydividing-wx1xb Be careful of Calvinists? Why, because we teach that you can’t earn your salvation, but instead must receive faith and belief as a gift from God, aka born again; recreated; regenerated? You mean the only Gospel that doesn’t boast in the righteousness of mankind? Yeah be careful of those guys! Wouldn’t want to become someone who gives God all the praise and glory. That would just be terrible!
@@jtslev while I totally agree with you, you’ve come off totally condescending and a little arrogant which is wrong because just like you’re saying we cannot boast everything from our salvation to our knowledge of God and his sovereignty has been determined by God so I encourage you as a brother in Christ to communicate the truth more humbly to those who don’t have the truth. Also responding to the original comment elaborate at the quotations on church. A body of likeminded believers and the church body is essential for the life of a believer. While I too am appreciative of the tool we have in the internet to see people like Jeff and learn from him we should neglect our responsibilities to be the hands and feet of Christ in the local church
Even if Jesus does concede he is "good" (spoiler alert: he doesn't), the Bible repeatedly says Jesus only does and says what God (His Father) tells him to. If he is speaking on behalf of God he may very well say something on behalf of God. Even profits like Moses went between first and third person when speaking for God.
@@JoseLopez-il4se I do read very carefully (nice insinuation that I don't though; that's called poisoning the well). Do you? I frequently go back to the original languages when I read the Bible. I think you are getting hung up on the wrong word. Ginomai is defined as the following (emphasis added by me): "Strong's Exhaustive Concordance be brought to pass, happen A prolongation and middle voice form of a primary verb; to cause to be ("gen"-erate), i.e. (reflexively) to become (come into being), USED WITH GREAT LATITUTE (literal, FIGURATIVE, intensive, etc.) -- arise, be assembled, be(-come, -fall, -have self), be brought (to pass), (be) come (to pass), continue, be divided, draw, be ended, fall, be finished, follow, be found, be fulfilled, + God forbid, grow, happen, have, be kept, be made, be married, be ordained to be, partake, pass, be performed, be published, require, seem, be showed, X soon as it was, sound, be taken, be turned, use, wax, will, would, be wrought." You notice the emphasis on the LATITUDE of it's use and FIGURATIVE meaning so that it can often be a non-literal interpretation. John is rife with figurative speech, as is Jesus and God. John also does not have a birth story. Which is probably good because the other two birth stories contradict; but I digress. The holy spirit started leading him immediately AFTER his baptism (Matt 4:1 and the ending of Matt 3, Mark 1:10-12). A strong case could be made that THIS is when the Logos was manifest in the flesh. Further even if you want to take it as his birth, it means that whatever the Logos was before Jesus' actual birth wasn't Jesus per se. So you still have a problem. See I can reconcile it being a Unitarian, I don't believe you can being a Trinitarian without making non-sensical doctrines of man. And I don't say this to be insulting (I used to believe in the Trinity). But it's simply doesn't hold up even from a scriptural basis.
@@JoseLopez-il4se And to reiterate a comment I made on the main message board. People throw out these Bible verses thinking they have proven something when in actuality they usually do the opposite and expose further problems with the Trinity (or other things they think God is or wants): John 1:1 is horribly translated. The way Trinitarians understand it, Jesus appears to be the Father! Jason BeDuhn shows the theological dishonesty of most trinitarian translators in this passage. It could be translated a number of other ways that aren't contradictory. But let's look at how the Trinitarians view it to start: In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God (The Father), and the Word (Jesus) was God (The Father?). First off, there is no definitive article on the last theos. Meaning something closer to the NW translation is probably one of the most accurate translations. Although something like, "the word was divine" would be more appropriate as it denotes a category. Secondly, there is no punctuation in Koine Greek. So any capitalization is translators choice and often bias. They capitalize Word to make it see like a person. They often do the same with "The Holy Spirit". See my notes on that in other comments. Further, Logos can also mean PLAN (or any other number of non-personage things). So if God's plan was with him in the beginning then became manifest through Jesus, that gives an entirely different connotation as well. Neither of which denote Jesus needing to actually be THE GOD (ho theos).
@@JoseLopez-il4se So fallacy of dismissal. Also, you did not read my replies. And I don't mean that to be rude. I am just to the point where instead of trying to argue with fallacious arguments I just label them and move on. I did provide alternative word and linguistic options. If you would like me to completely spell them out for you here are a few. The NW translation: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. You don't even need to capitalize it to denote personhood by the way. An alternative could equally be: In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was divine. As I mentioned the word Logos can also mean plan. So you could translate it thusly: In the beginning was the plan, and the plan was with God and the plan was divine. The key thing to note is there is a linguistic difference between Ho Theos and simply Theos without the article. That is clearly distinguished here. It's a very nuanced passage.
Love this video. Nothing but scriptural responses. The LDS defenders had no biblical response except the typical ones that Jeff gracefully and tactfully put down. I was once one of Jehovahs witnesses and Jeff has been a blessing from the Lord in seeing the truth. Thank you Apologia for all the content!
Jayse Ruiz The religion of the Saints is not based on scripture. Its based on revelation. These men are trying to argue squares with circles. It is easy to confuse revealed religion with scripture because revealed religion uses scripture to show that revelation through the living Apostles and Prophets is consistent with the revelations to passed Apostles and Prophets. So the saints do not get caught up nor are motivated to use scripture to defend every misuse of scripture. The fundamentals of our faith are not geared to do that.
The Catholic Church is the whore of the Earth, Jim. It is fraud perpetuated, and Satan uses the Catholic church to fill the world with his fallacy and fraud. But God restored his true Church in this last dispensation to show forth his power and to prepare the world for the great things to come and for his 2nd Coming. And what is the Catholic Church doing to prepare for the Lord's 2nd Coming? Nothing but sending fools like you on a fool's errand to fight against the Saints to hedge up their way in doing the work of God on Earth.
This man (the first man) is really respectful. If only every Mormon member had the same receptivity and gentleness. God bless him. God bless this ministry.
"Its main accomplishments were settlement of the Christological issue of the divine nature of God the Son and his relationship to God the Father,[2] the construction of the first part of the Nicene Creed, establishing uniform observance of the date of Easter,[6] and promulgation of early canon law.[3][7] "
Wow. So very, very, very frustrating. I ran into the exact same thing this weekend. I was able to share the true gospel of Christ with 4 of my Mormon relatives at our family reunion. I never could have done it without your work to teach and inspire me. Thank you!!
Modern Vintage Lifestyles They listened, gave twisted explanations for the scriptures that describe the nature of God and Jesus. I emphasized the importance of relying only upon the righteousness of Christ for exaltation (the mormon term for living in the presence of Jesus and God). I told them about the peace that comes by exaltation by grace thru faith. They thanked me. On their way home they all texted me individually not send them anything that would undermine their faith or discuss religion with them ever again. One of my older relatives said that she would never look at any anti-Mormon literature after I sent a video (by Mike Winger) that explained the different definitions for the terms used by Mormons and Christians. I continue to pray for them.

I absolutely love watching pastor Jeff videos. He has been so loving and kind to those he teaches the gospel. Listening to him and other pastors has helped me to get closer to our Lord Jesus Christ. I was a sixth generation LDS. I went through the motions and didn't follow all the doctrines like I should have at the time. I was brainwashed into believing it was the "only"true church. Well my testimony is that many years ago I did something aggergious against God and the church and was excommunicated back in 1996. Best thing that ever happened to me. I was still in darkness until recently and I'm getting my life back on track. Thank God for Pastors like Pastor Jeff. May his ministry continue to bring people to Christ.
I just talked to Mormons today and I brought up how the Bible is accurate since day 1, and that Joseph Smith wasn’t a prophet according to the Bible, and that Jesus himself claimed to be God. I should’ve gone more in depth about the identity of Jesus just like how he did, but I think I did good enough to plant that seed of doubt in their heart to find the true Christ. (They were surprised when I showed them that the Bible has been accurately preserved)
Jeff, Really beautiful way to witness to Mormons. Thank you! I have a soft spot for them, having come out of Mormonism a good 20 years ago by and through God’s mercy. My siblings, whom I love deeply, and many other people I know and care for, are still entangled. My attempts to witness haven’t been fruitful yet... but they have been open to my work writing/ singing Christian music. I pray that the Lord Jesus uses me to also point the lost to His truth!
Beautiful witness? Jeff was antagonistic. The only time Jesus went out of his way to confront people was in the temple to stop temple sacrifices/slaughtering. This was outlines in ALL the gospels and it was after this pinnacle event that the chief priests and scribes wanted him dead. Pretty much every other case of "antagonism" would be when Jesus was preaching to his disciples and the leaders CONFRONTED HIM trying to find fault in his sayings. Sounds a lot like what Jeff was doing...

I was raised Baptist and am a Methodist as an adult. I have not been attending church lately, but my kids have been asking to go. God had me pick this video to watch today. Thank you and God Bless all you guys do to reach people, Witness for God, and give folks like me to believe in their deep faith.
He didn’t explain what really happened in the councils… the entire Christian faith is based on it. 2 guys have a difference of opinion and Alexander won. Making his opinion the doctrine that would be forced upon all resulting in the idea of a Trinity God and murder of any who disagreed with Alexander’s opinion. But just because he won the argument doesn’t mean he was right? The Bible doesn’t teach the trinity idea. Nor did Christ ever refer to him self that way.
@@jeaigroup You are not reading the Bible then. John 1:1, Jesus and The Father are different persons, but both equally God. John 5:18 Jesus calls God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. John 3:7-8 you must be born again... born of the Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God. All three persons of God are equally God. All of these verses are the words of Jesus Himself.

I wasn’t morman growing up. I believed closer to what Jeff believes + a ton more works and law and a big splash of gobblygook. But because of my background as a young adult I would also defend what I was raised to believe. The best advice I can give to someone struggling to know the true gospel is read your Bible. Let the word become quickened to you. Stop relying on someone else’s interpretation. Romans was a good place for me to start. I see the struggle in the young man. When you have a belief system it’s like a house of cards. Remove one and it’s likely the house will tumble.

Thank you for correcting him. I was told the same lies as a Mormon. Currently going through Church History in M-Div, yes you are right on about Nicaea. It was to stop the heretical teachings of Arius. Mormonism has done the same as Gnostics and other heretics to limit who Father, Son and Spirit is.
This was informative and fascinating. That man was contradicting himself over n over again. That young guy was not firm in his beliefs. I hope the Lord works on him so he sees how christianity is the way. Thank you brother Durbin.
I adore Jeff. He knows scripture soo well. Im ex mormon. Many mormons dont know their own church history. Pray the scales will fall from their eyes and they will embrace the true God of the Bible
Its because Stefan can't afford to leave the LDS church even tho he knows its a fraud. He's too invested. He spent too many years working his way up the pyramid scheme. If he admits its all wrong he stands to lose everything in this life, his position, prestige, etc. Thats why he felt that he couldn't let that young man decide to trust the Bible.
@@jwing9185 interesting viewpoint. I hadn't thought about the "investment" aspect but that makes a lot of sense. Imagine admitting that LDS is wrong and then starting over from scratch, finding a new church, being just another guy, not having the fellowship, friends or "comfort zone" to be there for you. It would be like moving to another part of the world and starting over. I can imagine how scary that could be and worth defending something wrong just to keep that lifestyle intact.
@@georgebauerschmidt5289 Well the question he must answer is whether the truth is more important than his position in a TEMPORARY organization based on lies that even the Book of Mormon proves is false. What’s up Jeff! Bro I am learning so much from you in light of defending one’s faith. I appreciate you. Keep it up! My opinion as to why so many people misinterpret scripture is due to not clearly understanding the literary genre of the narrative. They seem to think that they can interpret at face-value (literal) what is written in a poetic form such as most Psalms or Jesus’ allegories/parables... and vice-versa. This is why they are more ably able to say, “Well I have a different interpretation than you.”
I understand why, but still, it never ceases to amaze me how someone will work so hard to deny God's written Word just to make their own religion right.
@@MrMac-zk5tv exactly, that’s what I try to tell them, that what they have love for, is a false idolization, a false God. And so they have so much love for something that they think Is the savior but isn’t. :(

Stephen.... when God says there are no Gods apart from him, its not saying that only gods that do not exists are the ones explicitly called Baal, Asherath, etc., its saying THERE'S ONLY ONE GOD
There has ever been one God to the covenant people of God, and that God is the Holy One of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Beside Him there are no other Gods and shall never be any other Gods for his people of the House of Israel. The Saints preach this now and will preach it ever more. What exists in the Eternal realm has nothing to do with the revealed word that the Holy One of Israel imparts unto his prophets and apostles on Earth. The argument against the Saints for believing that we can become gods and like God the Father and Jesus Christ is fodder. The belief bears no significance to the written and preached word of the Apostles and prophets, only so far as it gives us a bit of understanding of the Eternal realm which is totally independent to our mortal realm and the scriptures that mankind possesses on Earth.
Jim Caponzi Very christ like.... to silence opposition and not allow critic... oh no, thats very moromon, christ invited open criticism and nobody could rebuke him ANYTHING as each time they tried it only showed their own ignorance, yet with mormons and joseph, there is plain inconsistency
If you notice Mormonism is so appealing because it appeals to our fleshly desire (I.e. becoming a God) That’s why Mormons are willing to believe this doctrine despite the many contradiction. When Jeff provides biblical contradiction they say “it’s been translated so many times” yet they “follow” the Bible. But when it comes to sexual mortality they appeal to the Bible. How does that make sense I thought it was translated and corrupt?.
It's been 4 years, Ryan. Have you been studying to be prepared to do this? You can't just want the results, everyone wants that. You have to want to work to get the results. Today is a new day, always build for tomorrow!

Baptism necessary: (Mark 16:16, John 3:3-5, 1 Corinthians 15:29), Apostles/Prophets in his church: (1 Corinthians 12:28, Ephesians 2:19-20, 4:5, 4:11-14, Amos 3:7), the Apostasy: (Amos 8:11-12, 2 Thessalonians 2:3, Isaiah 24:5), the restoration: (Acts 3:20-21, Ephesians 1:10), the book of Mormon: (Ezekiel 37:16-20, Isaiah 29:11-14), need for temples: (1 Corinthians 15:29, Matthew 16:19), spirit world: (John 5:25 & 28-28). 3 kingdoms/heavens: (2 Corinthians 12:2, 1 Corinthians 15:40-42) We are God's children and can become as he is (Romans 8:16-17), we are saved by grace through faith, and faith is an action word and includes works, not just belief: (Matthew 7:21, James 2:14-26, Mark 16:16)
I don't know of any Christian who would dispute that all these things are taught in the Bible. But the Bible doesn't teach that ANY of these things are required to receive salvation, other than faith. There's a big difference between saying these things are important and needful, and saying these things are required to be saved. Romans 10:9-10 makes it crystal clear: "That if thou shalt CONFESS WITH THY MOUTH the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE IN THINE HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED. For with the heart man believeth UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS; and with the mouth confession is made UNTO SALVATION." That's it! Period! End of story! He goes on to say that if anyone preaches a different pathway to salvation, that person has a false gospel. There's no need to over-complicate the message or try to reinvent the wheel. If you claim that all of these things are required by me to receive salvation, you are saying that what Christ did on my behalf wasn't sufficient ALONE, and grace is no longer a gift. If I have to do work or "do my part" to obtain a gift, it is no longer a gift, but a wage or reward for my good works. My good works are necessary to prove to OTHER MEN that I have salvation, but they're not required to receive that salvation FROM GOD. My good works are a result of having a new heart and flow FROM my salvation. Not to OBTAIN my salvation. My good works come after my salvation, but they are not required before my salvation.
Your so great at this I'd love if I could read the bible with you I'm trying very hard to follow Christ and listening to these really help me understand the true Christian better
For the gentleman at 19:15 referencing John 5:28-29, seemingly in defense of the Mormon position that salvation is by grace, after all you can do (works), I would point you to verse 24, spoken by Jesus only seconds before he said verses 28-29. Verse 24 very clearly articulated salvation is by grace through faith alone: “ I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” You’re right sir, context matters. The context absolutely refutes the Mormon position however. Find Jesus, sir. The true Jesus of the Holy Bible, not the false Jesus of Mormonism.
*sigh* Jeff.. once again, you're using a needed scalpel rather than a machete on a ppl whom I love and desperately want to know the truth. There are times, brother, that it is just heartbreaking for me to see the conditioning and the reluctancy to receive the truth and to know that that young man might as well be my own family. I am known as being strong, extremely politically incorrect and often hard but this... It causes me to weep as an ex-mormon w/ family still Mormon just as "conditioned" to reject the truth. This is about as emotional as I can stand to get on this subject. Mormons do such good in this world, live wholesomely ... Jeff, I know that I know this answer but I suppose I have to be reminded... Didn't Yeshua say to the Samaritan woman that she did not know God (the way an Israelite knows God); she does not know whome she worships but yet He still revealed himself to her. He still rcvd her and stayed w/ her people who rcvd Him, even in their ignorance? Could this, at all/ in any way remotely relate to Mormonism and their misconception of Yeshua? The only response I want to this question is from Jeff.
In one sense, a shame, of course, but have you any idea how much time it would take to engage with comments on social media? Poor guy would never sleep!!!
Young man states "Do you have the time, cause I am going to have to leave soon" yet sticks around.... Better that he did so that he had more time to hear the word.
With al the videos you’ve had with Stephen, I think he finally might have started to understand in this one. When you hear the way he says “God” at the very end and then you look at his face; that’s the face of someone who heard them self and realized they were wrong the whole time.
Way too abstract. Better point: LDS do NOT believe the Book of Mormon. It teaches one god, repeatedly, without contradiction. It affirms Isaiah. Teaches HELL for the wicked. No second chances. Case closed.
The holy spirit was working and giving this young man conviction, he felt that then immediately asked for the time. He wasn't liking what he was hearing and that was his world view thru the mormon religion was taking a MAJOR HIT!
I’m surprised Jeff never brings up the fall of man in Genesis where Satan told that them they would become like God by eating the fruit, and becoming a god is one of the core tenants of Mormonism. That alone should show them it’s a false gospel.
HEAVEN IS 4 REAL Don't know if your is name is simply sarcasm, but if not take comfort in this clip. This is a clip from the show you were taking about and the dude Maher is interviewing has nowhere near the apologetic skills that Durbin has IMO. th-cam.com/video/kJQjpG-lGY4/w-d-xo.html God Bless:)
Polygamy was cool and then they changed it when the state started fining or charging them and their churches. How? When they say Joseph got a revelation to practice polygamy, then why would you change it? And what kind of God tells a man to go and sleep with many women and some are under 18 :/
The fact is Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses CANNOT deal when truth is presented to them. they immediately get visibly disturbed and confused because they just can't accept the fact that all they knew about Jesus is just wrong! Good job Jeff!! God bless you! God keeps using you to populate heaven! This kid was really impacted by the Word! may the Holy Spirit convince him and ultimately save him.
What is being taught is truth, but in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we learn the same truths and more. The foundation of the restored church is on the teachings and doctrine of the Plan of Salvation and the eternal family. That doctrine is the addition to the truth that other churches and religions teach. I hope that one day, we all can come to this knowledge

Also, we don’t just look within our organization, we are consistently seeking outside the church, most importantly we ask of God as it says in James 1:5. Thank you Pastor Jeff I now can talk to my Mormon acquaintance! You must expose the truth and absolute truth is love and you have warned this man about the true Gospel. Now it is up to him to either accept or not. Praise the LORD JESUS for you and your ministry! Romans 10: 13-15 - 13for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14How then can they call on the One in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? 15And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
David Baker What? I was responding directly to what this guy said on the video. The Latter-day Saint tried to explain that the council helped corrupt the Church and the Reformed Baptist said it wasn’t about that “at all.” Yes, it was.
Berkey Family I don't know much about that. I was commenting on the logical comment/question at the end that stumped Stephan. If you have any reference material about the council I will check it out.
I am SO Grateful for y'all. Respectful, gentle, anointed. I mean, I have learned so much from this channel. I feel like my salvation has uh... jeeze, big statement, come from this channel. Now flattery is sin, so that's not what I'm doing. But in the past 2 years I've visited 172 fellowships, including LDS as a person who is a seeker of christ. But you have given me inspiration to dig in deep to gospel, and scripture, and be consciously kind about how I do so. LDS folks are not bad people but for every fellowship I've visited-- I just.. I feel pain. I feel loss. I feel searching that in THE word of god I don't have. I don't have the same insecurity, I feel loved and accepted, and I don't do 'works' because I have to. I do them bc I want to. This channel is BEAUTIFUL. I am so grateful for your works, even though they have no bearing on our salvation. I love y'all. Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU. God bless you.
DJ Adams I agree with 👇🏼. What are you talking about? Corrupt council? What exactly do you think the council of Nicea *was*? Every Mormon I’ve talked to has the same exact weird ass story of what they think the councils’ purposes were....and what they did there....corrupt? Lemme hear what it was you were told....I’m going to weirded out again after hearing yet another version, and some rambling about creeds...another weird definition that’s always said in this evil abhorrent way....which is also super duper weird-another term that you’ve been given a totally different definition of-what do Mormons mean when they go on and on about “all your creeds (are belong to us””
Mormons are taught (and teach) that the Bible is flawed (in its translation).. When their faith is challenged with the word of the Bible they shutdown and fallback to the Bible being flawed. Before you can use the Bible to challenge their faith, you need to use their own Book (the Book of Mormon) and the teachings of their Church (especially the teachings Joseph Smith) against them to shake their faith. Once shaken, you can use the Word of the Bible to set them free. There are many contradictory and questionable things that they are taught and, blinded with faith, fail to see. Once they've been freed you mustn't let up, you must continue to use the Bible to 'save them' again and keep them from turning away God and religion altogether.
One way to start a conversation for challenging their faith to ask them if they knew that Joseph Smith claimed he has done more good for this world than Jesus Christ. Then to keep them from claiming lies or claiming that you've misquoted him and have it wrong, pull up the quote on their own website (LDS.org) and let them see it in Joseph's own handwriting.
I'd also add that it helps to know and have links ready to the Gospel topic essays on the LDS.org site and use the essays to make them think about the things they've been taught.

Good luck, clowns, your brand of Christianity is a fake a fraud and a lie

Greg, how does one be born again?
@@Rightlydividing-wx1xb Be careful of Calvinists? Why, because we teach that you can’t earn your salvation, but instead must receive faith and belief as a gift from God, aka born again; recreated; regenerated? Also responding to the original comment elaborate at the quotations on church. A body of likeminded believers and the church body is essential for the life of a believer.
Ginomai is defined as the following (emphasis added by me):
"Strong's Exhaustive Concordance
be brought to pass, happen
A prolongation and middle voice form of a primary verb; to cause to be ("gen"-erate), i.e. (reflexively) to become (come into being), USED WITH GREAT LATITUTE (literal, FIGURATIVE, intensive, etc.) -- arise, be assembled, be(-come, -fall, -have self), be brought (to pass), (be) come (to pass), continue, be divided, draw, be ended, fall, be finished, follow, be found, be fulfilled, + God forbid, grow, happen, have, be kept, be made, be married, be ordained to be, partake, pass, be performed, be published, require, seem, be showed, X soon as it was, sound, be taken, be turned, use, wax, will, would, be wrought."
You notice the emphasis on the LATITUDE of it's use and FIGURATIVE meaning so that it can often be a non-literal interpretation.
People throw out these Bible verses thinking they have proven something when in actuality they usually do the opposite and expose further problems with the Trinity (or other things they think God is or wants):
John 1:1 is horribly translated. The way Trinitarians understand it, Jesus appears to be the Father! Jason BeDuhn shows the theological dishonesty of most trinitarian translators in this passage. It could be translated a number of other ways that aren't contradictory. But let's look at how the Trinitarians view it to start:
In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God (The Father), and the Word (Jesus) was God (The Father?).
The NW translation:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.
You don't even need to capitalize it to denote personhood by the way.
An alternative could equally be:
In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was divine.
As I mentioned the word Logos can also mean plan. So you could translate it thusly:
In the beginning was the plan, and the plan was with God and the plan was divine.
The key thing to note is there is a linguistic difference between Ho Theos and simply Theos without the article. That is clearly distinguished here. It's a very nuanced passage.

The religion of the Saints is not based on scripture.
Berkey Family that first sentence said it all.
We are a restored, revealed religion, not a scripture dependent religion.
Wow. So very, very, very frustrating. I ran into the exact same thing this weekend. I was able to share the true gospel of Christ with 4 of my Mormon relatives at our family reunion. I never could have done it without your work to teach and inspire me. Thank you!!
Tell more? How did it go?

Props to the camera guy. Sticking through it with all those curveballs of people walking through the shot and hanging out there
Jeff,
Really beautiful way to witness to Mormons.

Your explanation of the councils of Nicaea changed my heart. I didn’t know the real reasons behind them. Hearing you speak on this broke down a wall I have been putting up.

Stefan is so hardened. :(
God probably had it like that for a reason
Does he truly want to do it God's way and end up in Heaven or do it man's way and end up away from God.

Stephen.... when God says there are no Gods apart from him, its not saying that only gods that do not exists are the ones explicitly called Baal, Asherath, etc., its saying THERE'S ONLY ONE GOD

"What do you think happened there?"
When you were going to educate someone on a subject, then realize they know more than you lol
The Bible teaches many things!
"You don't have a bible reading plan."

For the gentleman at 19:15 referencing John 5:28-29, seemingly in defense of the Mormon position that salvation is by grace, after all you can do (works), I would point you to verse 24, spoken by Jesus only seconds before he said verses 28-29. Verse 24 very clearly articulated salvation is by grace through faith alone: “ I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”
You’re right sir, context matters.

As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Wow!
Talk about mike drop!
Left him with a bomb!
David Baker
Mic drop? After claiming that the Council of Niccea was not about what it actually was about? More like, what a joker...
Those councils were about mingling the philosophies of men with the scriptures and the result was the Hellenization of the Church.

Did you not watch till the end? I am not sure why you are talking about that part...
David Baker
What? I was responding directly to what this guy said on the video. The Latter-day Saint tried to explain that the council helped corrupt the Church and the Reformed Baptist said it wasn’t about that “at all.” Yes, it was.
Berkey Family
I don't know much about that.
He’s incorrect about the councils
True. The council of Nicea was completely corrupt.
@Jesus Defender What are you babbling about?
DJ Adams I agree with 👇🏼. What are you talking about? Corrupt council? What exactly do you think the council of Nicea *was*?
Every Mormon I’ve talked to has the same exact weird ass story of what they think the councils’ purposes were....and what they did there....corrupt? Lemme hear what it was you were told....I’m going to weirded out again after hearing yet another version, and some rambling about creeds...another weird definition that’s always said in this evil abhorrent way....which is also super duper weird-another term that you’ve been given a totally different definition of-what do Mormons mean when they go on and on about “all your creeds (are belong to us””
The man knows his Bible. All glory to the most High
Snoop Dogg?
Ya know I'm not gonna lie, Satan has finessed them big time
10 years jeff? Really encouraged that you were patient with him.
I love how you've been acquainted with Stephan for the past 10 years like he's your next door neighbor.
