  • Singer-songwriter Cheryl Wheeler has been recording these songs from her kitchen during the pandemic. I run a mailing list for her fans, and she's asked me to post them here!

I play your songs for my students and they bring tears to some of their eyes. You are amazing!! I saw you at my community college in Western Massachusetts for the first time in 1996 and have followed you since! Thank you for sharing your beautiful music!

Yet another brilliant gem from Cheryl. These lines especially always blow me away: “even now through the ache of missing him, she’s filled with wonder, and far from giving in, she sees magic on the lake in the early morning light…”

Thank you for writing (and sharing) this beautiful song. It's my story too as my husband died 2 years ago. I'm a gypsy - traveler and living life like there's no tomorrow. "Cause you know? There may not be!

Cheryl, you touch my mind and heart! Such a true storyteller among all the noise and dissonance. I wish you'd come to Phoenix to sing. God Bless you and your talent.

Just incredible! Another gem from the best singer-songwriter I've ever heard. How do more people not know about Cheryl Wheeler? The stories she tells, the melodies she writes, and that voice. A true gift to all of us blessed to know her music.

I remember hearing you sing this at the Freight in Berkeley! Made me cry like most of your songs (unless they make me laugh). I used to go to every one of your shows. Can't tell you how great it was for me and my husband to find and listen to you last night and today. He's had a really hard time since shelter-in-place cut out all his Parkinsons exercise classes and support groups. He can't connect to others via technology like I do so has been really cut off and at loose ends, but he obviously connected to your songs! Thank you for never getting a job!

I found this song a few days ago and have listened a dozen times. Means so much to me because I am recovering from losses and have been traveling to national parks single and alone with no plans to settle down. Thanks Cheryl Wheeler!

      Lucky you!
I traveled this beautiful country in wild abandon for months 30 yrs ago! Met some great people along the way & have many wonderful memories logged in permanently.
I feel so Blessed to have done what so many only dream of.
Always thought I’d do it a 3rd time, but nope. So glad I did it when I did!
      It’s a very different country now. :/

I love this song - I can’t get the refrain out of my head. Thank you for your wise stories told in song, for your voice, for your deep appreciation for life and love of people.
