    I know this is old and you might not have it any more, but does/did it ever get any small puddle in the bottom when it would rain? Love the idea

      Well no, not really. Mostly as the car doesn't see inclement weather all that often.

    That's cool, Im thinking about doing something a little less extreme to force feed my FMIC when my mx5 is finished

    Thanks. How did you "attached the alluminium to the radiator? I mean. If you drill tge radiator it will leak then.

      Hey Italian Stang, There is a flange down the sides of the radiator that has holes in it, the perfect size to fit small M4 bolts through.

    I’m very interested in doing this but I’m not sure I have as much clearance as you did. My temps are spot on under any conditions except when it’s 95+ and the A/C is on. I have vented my hood which helps minimally. I do have a mishimoto radiator and fan shroud. Could the shroud be restricting flow at highway speeds?

    • @Bbeavis
      @Bbeavis  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes i do thank that maybe a shroud that forces airflow through a fan could actually cause more trouble than it is helping.

    Thats awesome man, if my car wasn't a street car I'd consider that, tho I will still do some ducting probably just not to that extent =P Good job tho it looks good and should work well! I'd love to see numbers if you could get before and after temp measurements of coolant and even intake air.

      Thanks GHG.... I think this is possible on a street car with some subtle hood vents.
      For a street car that is a bit more stock, it's a great idea to duct the radiator opening in the bumper direct to the RAD to force the air through for a huge cooling benefit.

    Im about to build my hood of my NA and I have talked to Lightyear on MiataTurbo. Do you have a video on your composite hood making? I want to make sure mine will be strong enough at higher speeds.

      @Bbeavis  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No sorry RJ, but the hood was made quite some time ago, before the world of TH-cam was quite like it is today.
      If i recall, it was 2layers of cloth with a thin foam core, and a frame around the entire perimeter.

      BEAVIS Motorsport I'm looking at using 160gsm Textreme, +45/-45 150gsm, 2mm 3lb foam core, +45/-45 150gsm, 160gsm Textreme. So it will be 5 layers

      Superb, sounds like you will have a solid end result.

    what was the drop in temp? and can i do this ducting but downwards instead of upwards

    • @Bbeavis
      @Bbeavis  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not sure, but its consistent and efficient. Of course you can go downward, but upward helps reduce lift.

    Are you doing this because you plan to run a flat tray and diffuser under the car?

    • @Bbeavis
      @Bbeavis  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've been running a flat tray and diffuser on the car for a while now, even back when it had a standard engine/driveline and around 120rwhp. I've done this for improved cooling, better IAT's and improved/controlled aero such as to reduce high pressure in the engine bay.

    Mate awesome work but its 2017 , get a cheap $15 Amazon microphone already ....

    • @Bbeavis
      @Bbeavis  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't think it sounded that bad? Maybe it's just my bad Aussie accent? :P
      And I think cheap Amazon parts don't make it out these parts of the world sadly :-(
