    When world champion Lewis Hamilton demanded McLaren to build him a new car, he actually won races for them. Mazepin was never in the position to demand something like this when he's just a rookie AND had severely underwhelming on-track records.

      The thing is Lewis has been with McLaren pretty much since his junior days and is well groomed as well as prepared. Plus had a great track record in the junior series and being a hard-worker helps. Mazepin isn’t from the same cloth like others.

      @@chanchaniceman Fun fact. Since joining F1, Lewis has never raced with any other engine besides Mercedes V8 and V6.He is the only current driver driving for more than 10 years to use 1 supplier.
      Example: Alonso has used every supplier engine.
      Seb has used Renault, Ferrari and Merc
      Sergio has used the Merc, Ferrari and now Honda.
      Ricciardo has used the Renault and Merc.

    I love how KMag after the Imola qualifying was jokingly telling a reporter "Suddenly lost of talent" when he skillfully prevented his car from being beached in the gravel. Something Nikita wouldn't have been able to do with his absence of talent.

The fact that the car had sticky tyres depends entirely from the warm-up, and that's entirely to Mazepin. And what do you mean by perfect conditions (be more specific)? Track temperatures that are at the optimal level you mean? That only affects the warm-up of the tyres and nothing else. Or do you mean by track evolution, where the track is rubbered-in and therefore more grip? Or do you not know what you are talking about?

    He's the Russian version of Lance Stroll, lets be honest here. Everything's been gifted to him, and he expects the team "works for him"
    It has not hurt my feelings or sentiment towards HAAS in one bit, I still enjoy watching both Mick and Kev push the team further and further along in the standings. 2022 has been a great season thus far!

    Coming back and watching this... Mick should be in F1 in 2023. 2021 doesn't really count and all rookies get 2 years to prove they should be in F1 (unless they're REALLY bad). He has crashed a fair bit this season, but Silverstone (and Monaco and Miami until his crashes) were good. If he finishes on equal points with KMag, I think he's earned a spot in 2023. Its hard to fault a guy when...
    2021 had different regs
    Haas literally didn't develop the car
    Nobody to learn from/benefit from, in any way, with a teammate in Mazepin
    Mazpein causing drama/a toxic environment
    Best thing for Haas was KMag coming back

    Mazepin’s different car thing makes a lot more sense than you think. You see he was trying to follow Hamilton’s approach to corners and the Haas didn’t like that. Mick on the other hand did what his father did in corners. And that worked for last year’s Haas a lot better

      Mick cost the team far more in repairs than Mazepin did. All Mazepin did was spin for the most part. Mick crashed multiple times. Granted he crashed because he was on the limit driving that shitbox and trying to squeeze more out of it than it had while Mazepin was seconds behind his teammate in the same machinery, but still, Mick did cost the team more.

But that being said now Mick instead of having a crashing mentor he has a very fast mentor who understand the Haas car limits and qualities and his learning curve will be exponentially faster and in return the team will get better feed backs and get the car faster and ... etc.

      Mick just needed some time. Now Magnussen hasn't outperformed Mick in a while. I am not saying that it's the other way around, but they are pretty equal in the last few weeks I'd say, pushing each other to new limits, hopefully.

      @@mercy5366 Kmag definitely has the stronger qualifying pace, but its now been 3 races in a row that Schumacher has had the faster race pace, albeit in Canada is engine disagreed and when you look at their results together it goes:
      Bahrain: Magnussen P5/Schumacher P11
      Saudi Arabia: Magnussen P9/Schumacher did not start
      Imola: Magnussen P9/Schumacher P12
      Miami: Magnussen P16/Schumacher P15
      Spain: Magnussen P17/ Schumacher P14
      Monaco: Magnussen DNF/Schumacher DNF
      Azerbaijan: Magnussen DNF/Schumacher P17
      Canada: Magnussen P17/Schumacher DNF
      Britain: Magnussen P10/ Schumacher P8
      Austria: Magnussen P8/ Schumacher P6
      Schumacher needed time to adapt and learn, and now he has. Also Britain and Austria is the 4th time in the teams history they have had back to back double points for the team interestingly enough. The last time they did was Brazil/Abu Dhabi 2018

    And people wonder why the debut season for Mick was so bad and why he struggled at the start of this season. Having a team mate like this (not to mention he's the worst on the grid and is also a pay driver rookie) won't be good for driver development. You need a veteran driver that posts results in the first seat and the promising young rookie in the second seat to help his development.

    I was frustrated when Mazepin was sacked due to politics, but it turned out great, Kmag killed it in the first race and mick finally had someone to look up to... If it was mazepin in the team, they would still struggle to get any points whatsoever

      @@sezniteowl5398 we'll see about that one in a few races. traditionally it takes Mick about a season and a half to get used to a car so if he starts getting those consistent points like K-mag is then sure. But I wouldn't say he's world champion material just yet. We gotta see results first.
      Also keep in mind the only people who have won championships since 2010 are those who absolutely DOMINATED junior categories, not anyone who just eeked out a win at the end. Still think the kid has emense talent tho so can't wait to see how he gets on

      @@notachannel6097 yeah and if you look at him in F3 and F2, it took him 2 seasons to win both championship and Franz Tost says he needs 3 more years before he moves to Ferrari a and he also said that Mick needs to consistently beat K-Mag so here's what I'm thinking after his contract with Haas expires.
      1. Haas could keep him for those 3 extra years
      2. He could move to AlphaTauri (probably not since it's Honda powered)
      3. He could move to Alfa Romeo

      Was given a new chassis and still got absolutely thrashed by Mick. Anyone could give him Verstappen’s 2021 title winning Red Bull RB18B or Hamilton’s Mercedes,Mazepin would barely just made it to Q3.

    I started to watch F1 this year, and when I looked back on those races last year, I thought Mazepin just needed some time to improve and didn't know why everyone just being so toxic until I watched DTS.

    Having Nikita in 2021 really held Mick back I think. HAAS had a terrible car, that's a given, but all Mick needed to do was be faster than Nikita. I bet 99.9% of amateur club racers could beat Nikita.
    So in 2022 it's taken Mick 10 rounds to get up to the same level as K-Mag. I believe HAAS and Mick had the potential to be further up in the standings if K-Mag was kept on for the 2021 season.

    I'm so confused about him asking for a new car. If they build it then it's still the same car?! Why not just tell them where you're struggling so they can tweak it to your style or make improvements upon the layout which is already set by S tier engineers & mechanics.
