You should make your character the maximum height because weapons scale with your height only down side is stamina takes longer to regenerate and you run slower but you do get more starting HP and if your a hoarder then you definitely want a big character 😂for the carry weight

Itsuno actually said he likes playing all sorcerers for the multicast stacking, but that it's too easy to get wiped because of no healing... So he picks Warfarer with three sorcs just so he can have a healing skill along with the nukes. Said it was great for bosses, but you might wipe to hobgoblins... This man. I like his style. I know I'll do the exact same thing when I get Warfarer.
I can't put my head around that Mystic spearhand is the red/blue hybrid, Its playstyle feels more like a green/blue (green=thief) with its speed and movement.

Call it a dex build if you want, but that duospear actually looks and feels heavy. Spearhand has good survivability too. One of the skills gives you a shield Mystic spearhand feels more like a Jedi than a thief/green build

From the videos, I'm glad to see that the Thief will have the same sort of counterattack that the Assassin had in DD1 (I think it was called Masterful Kill?). I played Assassin the most, and being able to time counterattacks was a key and fun aspect of that vocation.
I'm not sure why the devs made the Trickster a special vocation. Therefore, locking pawns out of it. It's a class that pawns can easily be used for because it's quite simple. Just use 2-3 abilities: Suffocating Shroud, Delusory Screen, and Aromatic Resurgence. You can simplify it more with just 2 abilities: Suffocating Shroud and Aromatic Resurgence. It would have been great to have pawns use these abilities so my Arisen can deal more serious damage.
the decision to make the starter vocations SOLID ones is just brilliant and shows that the dev have touch with their playerbaee from the OG, since ppl used to make insane performance builds with some basic vocations. Fighter looks so dope in 2 that I'm really thinking about to go deep on it!
yeah, i'm a sorcerer main but thief and warrior have augments that i will go after. i'm all really exited to try trickster and see how nutty magick archer is this time. mystic spearhand has my attention but i may try that one later on. hmm extra agro from fighter, that augment will be very useful for a trickster as well. so you can still die when using the warrior tackle, no i frames, good to hear. it seams that the augment that reduces how much health you can't heal from damage you take is from warrior so that's something many of us will want for longer adventures. if more of your health is recoverable, the mage will also be more helpful since they have a healing spell instead of a heavy attack. mage also has a haste spell so a warrior will have less animation commitment if their animations are just made faster. some enemies are also practically or fully immune to physical or magical damage so party balance is important. ghosts will laugh at you for using physical and golems ignore magic. in dd1 you could also craft these arrows. there were usually many recipes, where some of them used rarer materials for the same type of arrow but were more potent so you got more of them. yeah magick archer's revive arrow is nuts, not only does it let you skip the like 5 seconds of revive animation per pawn but it also, apparently, has AOE to revive more than 1 pawn at a time. having yourself and your main pawn as the same vocation with similar skills is also useful to train their AI to copy your tactics. that's how it worked in dd1 but this time the AI is smarter overall. a physical class can always get buffs from a mage, if enemies are immune to physical hits, but you can't make spells do physical damage unless that is part of the spell innately, like it is for some ice spells that ctreat a physical object with ice.
I'm going to do a FullSupport Warfarer. Trickster to buff and manage aggro + mage for elemental enchants/Halidom and likely Magick Archer for range heals/res+ irradiant + sedative + vimtaking. would most likely just cruise through the battlefield with allpowerful minions by my side
@@Dacarts Sadly after unlocking Warfarer i see that this tactic won't work. You only get 4 skills total and not 4 per voction equipped. (and rearmament- i.e. weapon switch is a weapon skill as well so unless you want to jump into the menus and swap weapons manually you have to sacrifice one skill slot)
One of the people that got the game early showed a screenshot where you equip your weapons on the warfarer and there are 9 slots, so you can in fact equip all 9 other classes if you're crazy enough. And I suspect that really good synergies with the class would be vocations that have a lot of really solid Core Skills and useful tools in their base moveset. Mage for example gets the ability to levitate and heal as part of their core moves, so that could be a great dip if you want to have access to a healing spell. I also suspect classes like Warrior could be great since the main thing you want out of a warrior is a big charged swing that does lotsa damage, and you can get plenty of that for free in the base moves. Meanwhile a class like Sorcerer might take a bit more dedication as their main strength is gonna be in their active abilities to actually cast their spells. But it could still easily work if you maybe make that your primary focus and then have other classes like Mage and Warrior to support yourself.

There is a quote from interview about "base game," along with mentions of katana research, so I remain hopeful with expansion/DLC... if time proves it a fool's hope then at least it keeps the dream alive!
I wouldnt be all suprised if in the future they did a DLC featuring Mystic Knight and maybe a Beast Tamer/Master vocation or maybe something else we have yet to see. Its not entirely off the table. But im satisfied either way with whats at hand.
Wondering if they brought back autonomy? It was an assassin augment that greatly increased str and def when fighting alone. Always preferred that too using pawns.
Hearing mixed messages regarding the stats increase while leveling up. Ragegaming’s channel claims the vocation choice still gives bonuses to stats, albeit to a smaller amount.
If you pre order they give you this book that lets you switch your look idk if it’s a one time use or if you can use it on your pawn but yes you can switch vocation pretty much at anytime you want
I miss DD1 Warrior. You didn't have Barge, but Escape Slash was so much easier to use and much more reliable. It was also a MUCH more nimble class back then, with jumping attacks that came out fast enough to deal with most small, fast enemies.
So far, i like being a meaty Warrior and and an agile Spell Blade Warrior for rhe basic bosses like Ogres, Cyclopes, and Minotaurs Spellblade specifically for dragons. No two ways around it. I tried warrior against a dragon, and it took me a day and a half irl to kill it
Hello everyone! I have a question that I didn't try to get an answer in-game. Right now I'm playing as a fighter. My character level is 12 and fighter level is 5 (if i remember correctly) When should i play another vocation? I mean, what do you do before you change your main vocation? Do you level up as much as you can and then change to a new one or you just change it before leveling up that much? One thing about leveling up as one class on my mind is, your gear and stats as that vocation goes up but when you change to a new one (let's say from fighter to mage) your stats and gear will be low to play. What do you think about it?
It is a bit rough on ps5. On average 30-35fps but can drop in towns and heavy combat into low 20's at times. Not game breaking for my taste but for others that may be a red flag .
Not sure how far, but I think its most def after the first area later in the game. Any hybrids are received after the npcs that teach you them are found and quests completed. Leveling str or magic doesnt matter, when you switch vocations, your stats switch to cater to that new vocation.
My augments aren’t available for other classes, I’ve seen multiple people on reddit have this same issue is this a bug or has anyone had this problem and got it fixed?

Oh man, I was really looking forward to Archer while Magick Archer looked more boring to me in comparison so the comment that Magick Archer is significantly more potent kinda stings... There was also no mention of Magick Archer having to purchase resources for his arrows so if that's a unique drawback to the normal Archer that sucks.
Id like to say the mixed vocations are generally not nearly as good at doing damage as a 1 damage type vocation. So a spear or wayfarer will be weaker. But that doesnt mean its worse. Its just different. And maybe with enoigh buffs from augments it might do similar to a warrior or a thief or a ranger or sorc. But you cant expect it to be high damage. They had similar stuff in ddo and dda.
I love the fighter glowup in this game. I kinda regret going thief whenever i look at fighters. But im sticking to thief because its getting really good and I want to hold out for the warfarer since I'll get the best of both worlds.
I find it baffling that they removed the Assassin given how popular it was in the original. I'm actually fine with them splitting up dual daggers and bows in the base vocations, but it was SO satisfying to mix them both together and I don't understand why they aren't offering a hybrid vocation that combined bow and melee.
I’m gonna try Trickster + Mage Pawn. But load it with offensive magic and Inclination. Reason is for Anodyne, but the buff should be good enough to make Mage pawn hit hard enough.
Mystic Spearhand is my go to. It looks like what I wanted out of the mystic knight from the first game. I will mostly go fighter>warrior>mage>spearhand and do mostly physical dmg but will mostly delve on everything of course. Second playthrough? Trickster with warrior and 2 sorcerers for maximum dmg and explosions

Kinda hard to have hidden vocations in games anymore when people data mine before game is even released and find all coded things to report. Seems a silly thing to say..."can't believe there aren't hidden ones."
hot take I loved the your stats go up with your vocation at max level it did not matter what you were leveling you'll be op but the min max of it felt good. I am sure this will feel better early and mid game though.
I am planning on making my main pawn either a support mage or a fighter tank not sure which would be more useful and which would be rarer to get online from other pawns. My main character will be a fighter tank if pawns are good at dealing damage and not great at being tanks otherwise I will probably go for archer or warrior. For now plan is fighter with mage main pawn.
Min/maxing in Dark Arisen was *literally* useless. Sick extra 400 damage on that spell at level 200 there guy, where's all your stamina gone? Damage was almost exclusively determined by your gear, 2nd only to your ability to not get hit... aka... MONSTER HUNTER.

Trickster is going to be the hardest vocation to master as they don't have much in terms of offense. It's a more defense oriented vocation.

In Monster Hunter I exclusively used Sword and Shield. You’re crazy if you think I’m gonna switch from Fighter.

U can do both, appearance later on unless u get the Art of Methamorphosis book early from preordering, but u still get it later

I built my warrior as a tank with almost maxed all vocations and he tanked a griffin and 3 golems at once.
It's really nice knowing we don't have to commit to leveling certain classes to get the most out of one vocation.
but u do statwise if you have a fighter you need extra magik defense so get a mage or sorcer what this bloke says is bs

Oh man, I was really looking forward to Archer while Magick Archer looked more boring to me in comparison so the comment that Magick Archer is significantly more potent kinda stings...
There was also no mention of Magick Archer having to purchase resources for his arrows so if that's a unique drawback to the normal Archer that sucks.

Id like to say the mixed vocations are generally not nearly as good at doing damage as a 1 damage type vocation. So a spear or wayfarer will be weaker. But that doesnt mean its worse. Its just different. And maybe with enoigh buffs from augments it might do similar to a warrior or a thief or a ranger or sorc. But you cant expect it to be high damage. They had similar stuff in ddo and dda.
I love the fighter glowup in this game. I kinda regret going thief whenever i look at fighters.
But im sticking to thief because its getting really good and I want to hold out for the warfarer since I'll get the best of both worlds.
I find it baffling that they removed the Assassin given how popular it was in the original. I'm actually fine with them splitting up dual daggers and bows in the base vocations, but it was SO satisfying to mix them both together and I don't understand why they aren't offering a hybrid vocation that combined bow and melee.
Theif mystic spearhead magic archer
I’m gonna try Trickster + Mage Pawn.
But load it with offensive magic and Inclination.
Reason is for Anodyne, but the buff should be good enough to make Mage pawn hit hard enough.
Mystic Spearhand is my go to. It looks like what I wanted out of the mystic knight from the first game. I will mostly go fighter>warrior>mage>spearhand and do mostly physical dmg but will mostly delve on everything of course. Second playthrough? Trickster with warrior and 2 sorcerers for maximum dmg and explosions
Was really hoping assassin would make a return but I guess with Wayfarer they didn't see a point. I guess SWANG AND BANG is back on the menu

The wayfarer can go between 3 but does it need to be 3? Or can you swap between just 2? Less stat decrease when only divided by 2?
good point. in DD1 i thought warrior was a step stone to fighter. But i like my fighter because he is tankier!

Kinda hard to have hidden vocations in games anymore when people data mine before game is even released and find all coded things to report. Seems a silly thing to say..."can't believe there aren't hidden ones."
hot take I loved the your stats go up with your vocation at max level it did not matter what you were leveling you'll be op but the min max of it felt good. I am sure this will feel better early and mid game though.
Are augments limited when it comes to how many you can equip at a time like the first game?
One character was in the air the game is so buggy they didn't even hide it unplayable
I always considered Sorc to be more like an artillery unit in DD
I was really hoping for a classic spellsword, a mix between mage/sorcerer and warrior
I am planning on making my main pawn either a support mage or a fighter tank not sure which would be more useful and which would be rarer to get online from other pawns. My main character will be a fighter tank if pawns are good at dealing damage and not great at being tanks otherwise I will probably go for archer or warrior. For now plan is fighter with mage main pawn.
Based on the first game tanks and mages were the most popular pawns. Rangers/striders/sorcerers were a bit more scarce but still abundant.
Interesting I figured there would've been an advanced vocation for thief and archer 🤔

Damage was almost exclusively determined by your gear, 2nd only to your ability to not get hit... aka... MONSTER HUNTER.
No, it wasn't. Depending on what you were fighting, a min/max character had an easier time overall.
