I adore E.F. Benson. M.R. James may have shaped the tradition, but Benson *perfected* it - his range of supernatural beings and his ability to write almost farcical (think P.G. Woodhouse) alongside the creepiest of creeping horrors was second to none. Of course, James had the small matter of being Master and Provost of Eton College and Cambridge University on top of his scholarly pursuits, as well as his tradition of Christmas Eve stories. Benson was a writer and artist, but, oh, *such* a writer and artist.
Thank you robin it is always a pleasure to watch.. and thank you to all the team involved.. I missed your recent premier but I will be watching it after this...❤
I very much enjoy these. me and my wife have for a few years now. as a result we want to take a honey moon in the Cotswolds. Might even get a copy of the old guide book.
I was curious If You (Robin) or anyone else knew a certain ghost story I heard recently, a lord was helping people hide from some kind of persecution and put them in a room of his manor house and just kept them there and they starved to death, and the main protagonist goes in and was confronted by a gaunt woman's ghost? Ghoul? or something. Anyway, this being said I was Wracking my brain as to the name of it/ Author.
Thanks for doing this Robin. We all cannot get out.
Well done!

One of my favorites, thank you from the 1850’s cozy sledgebed in my dreamy french cottage.
The doggo was adding to the atmosphere with background woofs!
Spooktacular! 👻
Do more!!!!
What a wonderful voice, reminds me of Denholm Elliott.
You remind me of Roald Dahl when he introduced Tales of the unexpected 😂👌
