I live by angel and greyhound meadow by magdalan Bridge. 1 day, me and a friend were fishing away when I noticed a old man shuffling towards me from the direction my friend was upstream of me. Thinking it was my friend I concentrate on the fishing Thinking it was my friend coming for a chat. I've then looked back round and no sign of anyone. I phoned my friend who told me he hadn't moved from his spot and he thought it was me. When I got home I did some research and found out this strange figure had been seen before. I wonder if there is a link to the college.
Just found this channel yesterday evening, and I´ve been binge watching all evening and I´m going to do so to day. This man has such a great voice and is a great storyteller.
Wonderful, I loved the stories. Oxford/shire was where I was born and I left at 20 years of age. Parents stayed, but I have many good memories of the past Oxford. I lived in Long Hanborough, and there was always a story of Mrs Pepperpot in Church Hanborough. And at the bottom of Swan hill in Long Hanborough, there were also stories of a horseman crossing the old bridge that crossed the river Evenlode. There are as always stories in every village.

Historic Oxford city centre, where the colleges are, is very atmospheric by night. The streets are very dark, as can be seen in this video. It's many years since I visited. There used to be a ghostly van that would stop in various streets, after dark, selling doner kebabs out of the back. Anyone buying such a kebab would later be a victim of severe indigestion. Could they be cursed ?
Respectfully...Matilda's "other ideas" about her queenship over Stephen's were based on the reality that she had the greater patrilineal claim to the throne and was Henry I's appointed heir....
Matilda was Henry's daughter, Stephen was his nephew (if I remember correctly). But many barons etc supported Stephen because they didn't like the idea of a woman ruler. (Now why does that sound familiar, somehow ? Kamala / Hilary vs Trump) 🤣
Oxford Prison, as it was, is now a luxury boutique hotel. It was featured in an episode of Lewis. I can imagine there are many screams of pain, emerging from inside the old prison. They are guests who have just seen the bill for the mini bar. 😳😫
Having been inside Oxford Prison during the time it was operational, I can confirm there was never any evil spirits or haunting presence’s ever felt during my stretch. Maybe the ghosts were scared to come into my cell, ha ha 🤪
I know you explore the hidden gems here,I'm curious if the ghost of Guy /Guido Fawkes is seen? Does anyone know. He used the latter alias somewhere else.
