    Guten Morgen. Vielen Dank 🤩 Das Abrutschen ist deutlich zu sehen. Der nächste Tag hat es ja wirklich in sich gehabt. Schon allein der Wind muss ganz schön anstrengend gewesen sein. Und das trübe Wetter erst. Hoffe ihr seid wohlauf. LG aus Wien ⭐🌋🇦🇹

      Guten Morgen und danke dir 😄 wenn man heute in die Webcam Bilder schaut, sieht es ja auch wirklich so aus als sei da zuletzt noch mehr abgerutscht oder weggebrochen, die eine Flanke sieht mittlerweile ganz anders aus. Wäre spannend gewesen dass nochmal live zu sehen, hat aber leider nicht mehr gepasst :( der Urlaub ist nun wirklich zu Ende.
      Und ja, bei dem Wind zu laufen war wirklich anstrengend 😅 man konnte schnell die Balance verlieren und dann auf diesen Wegen mit den ganzen losen Steinen, nicht ganz ungefährlich. Aber ist alles gut gegangen 😊
      Vielen lieben Dank dir nochmal! LG (nun wieder aus Deutschland)

    It is fascinating how lava looks as it behaves like water... but if you throw a solid rock on glowing lava, it just bumps and sticks on its' surface - it is more of a condensed crystalline soup than a real liquid. Second thing is how small this crater looks in videos and how big it really is in real life. That crater is ~300m high and for sure 500m long. That little wall on top front of the crater rim at 3:38 might be 30-40m high... unbelievable

    • @JuliaMrozek
      @JuliaMrozek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, it’s really fascinating. Unfortunately I couldn’t really record the sound, but it was also unreal when the lava was rushing down.
      Yes this is also where we were surprised with the size, once you see it live, you get such a better impression on its size than what you get from the Webcams.

      Thank you so much again, I did see the rise of views and subscribers and I’m actually speechless 😄 it’s incredible. I knew a lot of people would probably watch latest volcano videos, but this is much more than I expected.
      We did have a great time in Iceland nevertheless, no more volcano shots unfortunately. I saw that the view just got better this afternoon, but I came back from the Glymur waterfall hike just now and think this was enough hiking for today🤣. I will definitely post more videos of the other things I’ve been doing in Iceland like that Glymur hike, which was really exciting.

    Another brilliant video. Good to see the fog too, it will perhaps get it over to people who constantly complain about the live cams when there is fog.
    Did you notice if the lower outflow from the hole in the side was greater when the eruptions from the top were greater?

    • @JuliaMrozek
      @JuliaMrozek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thank you so much 😊 yeah that’s why I put it in as well, the sight was super bad, and the winds really strong, but still interesting. However, it made navigating a lot more difficult, we met people going into the completely wrong direction searching for the parking lot.
      And yes. We noticed this as well, once the activity was strong in the crater, the outflow grew and grew, then slowed down again but never stopped. So much to observe 😄

      I just quickly checked the chat, really sad that again today you can’t see anything. I’m going to check later again! This is my last day in Iceland so I will go on a hike to Glymur Waterfall, seeing that there is little chance today to see the volcano.

    Great shots! But were you able to see where the lava is ending up? We can see the lava river snaking off but have no idea if it is heading for Nátthagi and the road, the Meradalir valley, or elsewhere. I'd also be interested to know what equipment you were filming with.

    • @JuliaMrozek
      @JuliaMrozek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much 😊 the one shown in the video is going completely into Meradalir valley. But there seems to be another flow in the more western valley, which would be seen from trail B. We never went there because we really just had one day of good weather within a full week 😄 but we’ve seen a lot of smoke in that valley.
      I was filming mostly with a Fuji X-T3, with a 16-80mm and a 70-300mm lens. Some wide angle shots were done with the GoPro9, and some footage I used from my dad was done with a Canon EOS R, with a 200mm lens. Hope this helps 😊

    • @57Strudel
      @57Strudel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's called a still shot. Nothing's moving, therefore you can't tell whether the smoke was affected or not.

    • @JuliaMrozek
      @JuliaMrozek  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That shot is actually a normal photo 😉 I’ve been switching between taking photos and videos, and it’s not photoshopped, it’s even hardly edited. The helicopters were flying super close to the cone, sometimes on the side, sometimes even above. One time we saw one flying through the volcano smoke and were also wondering, if this can be so good 😄 I Hope though they know what they are doing

    • @dennyhenry230
      @dennyhenry230 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JuliaMrozek fair enough. I don't think it's a helicopter at all... Be kind with your reply, please. Just my thoughts. I'm not a fruit, things just aren't making sense, and trying to make sense of "it" makes one sound... well, fruity!😱

    • @JuliaMrozek
      @JuliaMrozek  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get that it might look strange, but I know what I saw because I have taken this photo myself 😉 what i can’t say is if the helicopter in this case was slightly behind or in front of the volcano, perspective might be deceiving and could explain why the smoke isn’t affected here. I’m okay if you don’t believe this, but I’m not someone to photoshop videos just to make them more exciting, I’m just sharing what I saw myself 😊

      Danke fürs reinschauen 😊 mein Urlaub ist leider morgen vorbei und wegen des miesen Wetters konnte ich kein neues Material sammeln 😞 ich werde noch ein Video posten mit ausführlichen Aufnahmen vom 10. Juli inkl. des Wanderwegs, aber das war’s dann. Will nur ehrlich sein, kann verstehen wenn du daher dein Abo zurück nimmst 😉

      🤣 yes it is. Weather was super bad yesterday and today. But it might be that this leak actually got bigger

      I'm seeing this new outflow just this morning. So incredible that this volcano has so many non-stop surprises.

      It seems to be changing sometimes from day to day. Really incredible 😊 I hope the view clears again to actually see what has changed

    Great video - amazing to watch the flowing lava. Very irritating music.

      Yeah, music might not be meeting everyone’s taste, but the original sound had way too much wind noise

    Great video. Incredible footage even. But please please lose that awful background music. It’s awful. Let us hear that vent in all its sound and fury. Otherwise great video footage.

      Thanks very much! Unfortunately that wasn’t really possible, otherwise I would have done this. On most of the ridge and mountain tops wind speed was about 70-80 km/h, we had to put the tripods close to the ground and keep holding them so they are not knocked over. We didn’t bring any external microphones, so from the cameras you pretty much only get wind noise. In reality it was easier to separate the wind noise and actually hear the volcano, but the cameras didn’t manage that. So it was constant wind noise or music, and I chose music 😉
