That girl stating that there were too many old students I hope she realizes that not everyone had the chance to attend College at a younger age. I don’t know why people are so offended with what the black girls said. She’s valid in what she’s saying. It’s about diversity and not just having one race dominant the whole school population. I think that was the point they were trying to make. And believe it or not most people are drawn to individuals who look like them and seeing a equal number of races is comforting to most people. It can be hard to fit in or assimilate when you may not see your people and when it comes to a majority of brown people they usually hang and talk solely among themselves and don’t really mix in with other people of different races. Regardless the student experience would be better if there was more diversity. I go to York and there’s a lot of diversity and an equal proportion of different races here, where black, brown, Asian, Middle Eastern have the opportunity to learn from each other’s cultures but at the same time indulge in spaces that celebrate our individual cultures.
