Farming not easy Phil, when weather is against you. Liv is some worker, she seems to enjoy farm life, ur so lucky you got a lady like that for a wife. They are very limited. Hope the weather lifts for all of us. Greetings from up the road in Omagh, Co.Tyrone. ❤
Great to see a farmer on top of their game ...... Would be interested to see the difference between the two feeders, one using Precision Microbes the other not.
nice video, the grain shed is a good save timer and make sure is big enough once you spent the money make sure is bugger and bought a dung spreader bigger or 2nd hand is a time and diesel saver, make the busines more profitable and try to reduce costs
Well Andrew hear from Wicklow weather all over the place we have 50 acres off straw still to bale from last harvest, 25 acres off silage to make alot off slurry and dung to spread and around 170 acres to plow for spring crops won't alot off beer drank or sleep had when the weather takes up
silage left in the pit is better than money in the bank .......seen silage kept for 11 years and was used in april 2013 .......cattle were damm glad to get it .........!
Brilliant video Phil ye are very busy Jesus don't get sheep you are busy enough without getting them how do you manage the farms and the contracting though hope it dries up so ye get some field work done
I am told annual rainfall is similar from year to year. The last very wet start to a year was 1995 in Wicklow where it rained almost every day till late March which became a summer of drought, good hay and golden oats became the grain saw no rain from heading out till harvest
You're told incorrectly. Rainfall is increasing in both intensity and frequency in Ireland and most of north-western Europe as a result of warmer temperatures in the North Atlantic. This is also why hurricanes in the Atlantic are bigger and more frequent
Weather is depressing, we are still getting some snow here and there in Norway. But it's soon April and hopefully all the snow will melt and go away, then it's just a matter of time before the ground dries and thaws :)
Fp in the house 🏠 live hope she ok sir and you 🙏 hope family good sir we hope to pop over from uk to come see and surport you fp sir from uk 🇬🇧 have a lovely day sir
Hi Phil, what's ale'n the 6480, with the calf feeder is the calf not at lib anyway or is there a upper limit to what he is fed, the calfs look great ,.
Hi I see farther Phill got a Bateman I have one here where I work I run 18.4x26 tyres all the time I got 4 wheels and tyres off manners combine £420 they are off mf combines 520 or 525 the wheels fit straight on the hubs cheers Gary
That’s right Phil, I wouldn’t be interested in sheep at all if I were you especially when they’re allergic to high levels of copper and the round cattle lick buckets usually say on the back of them WARNING CONTAINS COPPER DO NOT FEED TO SHEEP.
I don't think I'm overreacting but I can't remember a worse continuous run of weather for farming in Ireland than what we have got for the last 12 months continuously. Rain at wrong times, dry at wrong times. Tough year last year for dairy & tillage both. Milk volumes back a fair few % last year and looks to be worse this year!! Grain prices low even though meal prices still sky high!! Something doesn't add up anyway.
Just wondering phil with the woodchip under the straw, how much must you change the woodchip under the straew? Or is it just cleaned out when your cleaning the shed?
@@FARMERPHIL3690 Ye would have to I suppose a nice volume of calves on top of it. That’s good to know though will probably try it next year ourselves under the sucklers calving. What depth of wood chip have ye under them?
Would u not get the vet to put the calves asleepbfor dehorning it's a great job time saver 100calves in an hour and a half. Look at once a day farmers videos of it being done
You've a lot of nice calves there. Im sorry now. But you single out the jersey to talk about 1st. You really need to loose your obsession with jersey calves. By all means keep buying them if you like them. But you need to loose the obsession. Great calves will pass you by while your staring at a jersey
Your wife doesn’t say much but what a woman to have total dedication to her animals phill
She used to do some farming footage herself , shes well able to talk alright

Great video Phil. Tough work with the weather so bad. You have a great work partner & wife , 👍🏼to Liv. Enjoyed watching.
de horning paste is a mighty job. be no problem for those quiet wee calves. really easy and quick
Ah!! That's where bro is....What's bro at in college? Wish him well, he's a character and seems a real good sort
If you're building a grain shed then surely you would make sure you can tip any and every trailer in it??
Whenever our calves got scour we always used to give them 2 egg yolks twice a day until there stools hardened up always worked fine for us
Brilliant video Phil, I think the wet is affecting everyone.
Great Video Phil and Liv farming in the wet is no fun but adding making a video makes it awful, thanks for sharing

A challenging spring.

Sheep need perfect fences, or 3 hot wires, and they know when the wires are shorting out.
Good video farmer Phil and see there a map coming out your farmer is coming from farmer sumcim

@@TerriblyNice_Not you are probably right some believe we do get longer wet and dry spells that we might have experienced many years ago
Nice video, it’s good to see well fed and contented stock.
Weather is depressing, we are still getting some snow here and there in Norway. But it's soon April and hopefully all the snow will melt and go away, then it's just a matter of time before the ground dries and thaws :)
Snow not the same as rain…..I’ve lived both sides. Not anyway close….

Weather and farming are always at odds with each other.

Why are you back using maverick Phil if you don’t mind me asking
Price per kg
Good one Phil, you and Liv sure keep busy farming in hard work. The pigs have a nice place to live in turned out nice.
Just wondering phil with the woodchip under the straw, how much must you change the woodchip under the straew? Or is it just cleaned out when your cleaning the shed?
We don’t plan on changing it but we may have to

Morning Phil fantastic video mate I enjoyed it ❤❤❤
Its more rain here as well your wonderful working hard farmers great job 👏
Lots of money being invested by TH-cam farmers lately…
What's wrong with 6480
Is the 3690 still around?
It is yes. Getting the injectors and pump done on it
Yes fp smiled lolol😅😅😅
It will be a long dry spell. Lol.
Could do with it
Work just backing up like there’s no tomorrow 🥲 got some slurry and fert and ploughing done but no where near enough.
Would the pigs turn over the ground?
Yes😂 they’d leave it ready for grass seed
Weather is been geo engineered watch the sky early in the morning with planes
Did bro get his course to become a teacher?
👍
Famer phil you and your wife are a very hard working couple .❤❤😅😅 martin flaherty.

Just pointing out how the ad lib had that calf in particular looking. Didn’t see the same response in any of the others on ad lib yet
Has your wife a sister!
Philip if you got a flock of sheep it would make great content but it would take a lot of editing of swearing
If heifers perform worse, why have them at all? Cheaper to buy?
Yes cheaper to buy and we operate on taking whatever the farmer wants moved on so it’s always been a handful of heifer till this year
👏👏🙏🙏🇮🇪🇮🇪👍👍
