Well, you clearly enjoyed yourself shooting that bow. Never shot an assymetric bow but it makes sense. The bow looks gorgeous and clearly performs superbly. Thanks for the review.
..that one was my birthday present from my wife...it's awesome 👌...seems to shoot by itself, best bow ever. I'm totally in love.
What a pleasure to see the smile on your face when shoot such a bow!!!! 😍
what a lovely looking bow and hard hitting. I like heavy arrows. Excellent review, someone is going to be very lucky.
This is my Long Draw bow of choice. I have yet to get my hands on a 35" or longer draw bow that comes close to the feel of the Chan An release. (The Manchu bows I have are Fiber. I am still looking for the Laminate one I want!)
Pretty much the best is the Mariner Qing2 for the Manchu style.
Thirsty Thursday and the debut of the tailor's tape. Jeezus what an amazing bow, rarely do you find a bow that's fast AND powerful. Also didn't realize just how huge it is, on par with manchu bows.
I just ordered this bow with the Armin10 promo code. Many thanks Armin!
I have to say this bow is beyond my expectations. The looks, the build quality, the smoothness, the power, the sound, the long, long, long draw, the sheer joy in shooting it... I could go on and on. It's an incredible bow, a beautiful bow and easily worth twice the price. Thank you so much for the review that convinced me to buy it. I might not ever buy another bow again!
Great review, really enjoyed that and couldn’t help chuckling along with you - you were obviously having a lot of fun!
Nice bow, strongly oriented to thumb shooters. Long draw, but it doesn't feels as confortable as the manchu bow
Definitely need one of these. :) My favorite bow is my Dunhuang, and I draw it to 35", so inevitable I'll like this.
This a bow that is big enough for my draw and still fast.
Yes Armin, you did review the old version. I bought one on that recommendation. It is fun with the option of draw lengths, and has funky feeling with longer upper limb.
Hello Malta Archery, great video, as always.
Could you please, make a dedicated video to talk abou only the pros and cons of asymetrical bows, and why they are made this way?
I have seen a previous video where you talk a little about it in a review of another bow. But i'm still very curious about this kind of bow. They look so beautiful when at full draw.
Keep up the great work!
Cheers.
Mine arrived unexpectedly today. What a beautiful bow. Mine is 45 pounds at 28 inches and 62 pounds at 35 inches. Unfortunately, my right shoulder is messed up right now, so I could not string the bow. I think my leg bone would have snapped in half had I really tried. I think I will find another way to string this bow. I can hardly wait to shoot it with the long arrows I have from Alibow and Sarmat. Thanks for the review. Oh, and the sleeve I received is absolutely beautiful.
This is a beautiful bow.
now I understand this bow! THX again
I just found your channel, and I am very glad I did! I want to get into the mongolian bows and I have to say, your videos are awesome. Love your informative, very entertaining and funny way of passing your knowledge and love for the sport on to us. Keep making them and I will keep watching!
Thank you very much
These "gentle" string nocks are in my opinion the best. Like the ones on the Kheshig. They will never damage the string or cause the serving to separate. Unlike those that have almost 90 degree angles. No matter how smooth they make them the string bending at that large an angle will cause the serving to separate eventually.
A small thing but very important in my opinion.
Beautiful bow , great craftsmanship by Ali Bow
Very happy to see you with an asymmetrical bow; I am drawn to this style and am contemplating a Hankyu bow from Sarmat archery as their price is very reasonable indeed. Now, as I always seem to have a silly question, may I ask if it is possible to use a bow stringer with an asymmetrical bow instead of the manual method you use, mainly due to arthritic hips (mine, not inferring that you have!!)
should be, I will try that :D
Thank you.
I like how you living in Malta you picked up the "Madonna" pretty easily XD
With this Bow, the Kathra movement comes naturally. it looks dramatic that Draw. I can not imagine shooting a long distance.😂✌🎉
What a beautiful bow. Maybe I need to get one of these in the future. No, I definitly need to get on ;D
Amazing bow, perfect review :)
Those arrows sound like they hit like a Mack truck with that bow!!!
What a cool bow! So fast. So fast that it made Armin say a bad word HAHA!
Looks like a nice ali bow
I'm drawn to these asymetrical bows. Do you know if any european bowyer is building something like this? I always feel a bit guilty when buying something from the other side of the world.
Vegh is making one which I hope to have soon here for review
Thanks@@ArminHirmer, looking forward to this review :)
Hey, love the channel. I noticed that you seem to run the range out of a mall booth. Our local range closed recently (it was really a gun store that wasn’t doing well) and I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind doing a synopsis of how your business breaks down. I’m curious to see if it’s feasible in my area.
If I would have to pay the full normal rent then no chance. But this shop was empty so they gave it to me for a reduced price. Worked now almost 4 years.
interesting to see that manchu bow can be drawn to 35". Being a kyudo practitioner i always assumed it was a special trait of the yumi. Also what do you use for your targets Armin?
Of course, Chinese had long draw I guess already before yumi. Jute/burlap/hassian sacks filled with plastic nets
Sir how do you join the raffle or how can I get one of these bows you said a giveaway
i would love one of those with a manchu style fur backing
“Epic guys...epic bastards” lmao loved the review
Whts the poundge of this bow?
First of all, a very good review! keep it up. This Tang Bow is really a fantastic bow and with 50 lbs probably better to shoot than the Tang you already had with 70 lbs.
I have "Loulan" variant of the dunguan, the bow with the very wide limbs, but shorter (string 137cm). A really fast bow, with more than 215 fps at 9,5 gpp.
The crasy speedy
When someone gets this exited while shooting a bow, then it Mist be a great one. Defenetly have to get one in the future! Also as always a great review.
One question, where can i get these long 500grn carbon arrows?
hehe thank you. The carbon shafts are from www.nijora.de in Germany
@@ArminHirmer thank you Sir. Im from Germany so that fits nice for me :)
F***🤣. What a bow. Such a powerful sound when the arrow hits the target!
Hello Armin! Because of this video I’ve bought a tang chan an from alibow ! Your video’s are amazing , funny and instructive !!! Can you please tell me what should be the best arrow for this bow ??
I would shoot nice carbon arrows with it. Depending on the draw weight even bamboo
Armin Hirmer I’ve choose the draw weight 50lb at 28 , what should be the right spine for the carbon arrows , 400 , 450 with 100gr for the tips?
Arrow length? Thumb draw? 300 spine
Armin Hirmer thumb draw and three fingers , I wanna practice both , arrow length i think 32 inches are ok right? I thought 400 or 450 , 300 is better ?
why, when you nock your arrows, do you put the nocking point higher up than the point where the arrow rests on your hand? wouldnt this result in bad arrow flight? or is this just an illusion in the video?
When the arrow is nocked higher as you noticed, the feathers have less chance hitting your thumb (on the bow hand) during release.
Beautiful. Bow !!
Chesterhedron.
(cool review btw.)
tang chang an bow just got in the mail, makes really loud click noise when I shoot 10 gpp arrow, sounds like dry firing. Not sure if I got the defective one.
Shoot a few arrows. What's the brave height?
@@ArminHirmer Hi Mr Armin I think the brace height is about a little under 7 inches about 17.5 cm. the noise is not as scary when I draw it to the corner of my mouth. But when I full draw at 33 inch it makes the loud clicking/ thwacking noise. the arrow still fly to the target
@@antwantuan4040 Mine do the same. 7 inch brace height, My arrows are about 560 grains.
@@aliendoggy1 Thanks for confirming the noise that it's not just my bow. I shoot 750 grain now and noise go away but it drop like rock pass 20 yards
@@antwantuan4040 Is that the only issue you got? The string on my bow keeps falling of the bow when shooting. I got a replacemant bow from alibow. But the tang is my favoritt bow. I ordered a new one and its comming this week. I hope there is no issue with that one :)
I also tryed to have a higher brace higth but that make the sound more higher.
The thing that I struggle with is that the arrow is on the other side to western bows....what is the rationale for this
thousands of years of proof that it is faster, more organic, better on horseback then three finger
@@ArminHirmer thanks for the reply...but that is not what I meant Sir, I am talking about the arrow being placed on the right hand side of the bow when drawing with the right hand rather than on the left hand side admission traditional in western how shooting!
Wade Jensen the reason is that when you use the thumb to draw the string, the pointer finger presses against the arrow. If the arrow were on the left side of the bow, the pointer would push it out of the way every time. On the right side, the pointer presses it into the bow thereby creating a very secure hold for horseback shooting.
@@Nick_Gurr80 thanks for the reply mate, that makes sense now!
@@wadejensen3301 He answered the question that you posed quite concisely. Perhaps ask better questions 😅
You know I'm going to retract my previous comment about the Kassai method because it really is not true or fair because originally Lajos didn't shoot this way i believe it was because of an injury that he could no longer use his original preferred method. As for the almost inevitable injuries from his current method.....I think we all need to back off Lajos a bit and here's why , arrow broadheads that were most common fifteen hundred years ago were nearly diamond shaped with only the forward planes being sharpened and I would bet my bow that Lajos kassai could absolutely fire these historical arrows without injury using his current shooting method and he could have shot any type of broadheads using his original method.
I want it, but i have not money
It sounds like you need a stiffer spine arrow. Sounds like the nock is hitting the bow
maybe seventy # is not enough
How do you determine the arrow nocking point on an asymmetrical bow?
same as on every other bow. you usually have an arrow pass above the grip and then you go from there
where did you get so many tradition Chinese bows?
Mostly from Alibow and other suppliers
Nice....!!!
Beautiful bow and twang sound !! SE
Which one kheshig or this one?
When 33" are enough always kheshig
what is the purpose of asymmetrical bow
the shock waves concentrate in the middle of the bow, geometrically, which is where usually the handle is. on an asymmetrical bow the handle is lower on the bow, so the hand shock is either weaker or doesn't exist
Also you notice that on the asymmetric bow the arrow is centered to the bow itself. On a 'symmetric' handle bow, the arrow is actually not centered as its placed at the top of your hand (which is centered). In practice maybe not much different but the maximum draw length is to the center of the bow, and thus better if the arrow is there... not off center. This bow has a 35" draw - and that last inch might be the asymmetry doing its magic.

I want one......😍
me too
@@ArminHirmer Tang Chan An is not imported yet by any legal importir here in Indonesia 😢
@@ArminHirmer how long the ideal brace height for that "long bow" usually?
For speed grozer assyrian is better then this bow with 12 gn it give 190 to 193 may be
