  • Border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia have stopped for now and their political leaders are set to hold talks Monday at the United Nations. The fighting near a disputed border area was the worst in years, killing several on both sides and sending thousands fleeing for safety. Villagers have yet to return home and many in Thailand urge the government to resolve the dispute so life can return to normal. VOA's Daniel Schearf reports from Si Sa Ket, Thailand, on the border with Cambodia.

We feel very sorry for the THAI VILLAGERS and KHMER VILLAGERS who become victims of those POWER HUNGERS, SELFISH,GREEDY POLITICIANS with no COMPASSION for POOR PEOPLES. LAND AND MAN, WHICH ONE BELONG TO WHICH ? I' AM VERY SURE, WHEN MAN DIE HE WILL BELONG TO LAND ! BOTH SIDE ! OBEY THE LAWS OF KARMA OR YOU WILL BE DESTROYED BY YOUR OWN ACTS ! PEACE WILL COME AS SOON AS WE UNDERSTAND THE SUFFERING OF OTHERS AS WE UNDERSTAND THE SUFFERING IN OURSELVES. SOLDIERS AT BORDER WANT TO LIVE TOO!

That defense volunteer is plain wrong. Red shirts live in that area and would love to live in peace with their Khmer neighbors. Some are even related. These Red shirts would never create trouble in the area. However, the yellow shirts from Bkk, on the other hand, are the ones who come stir up trouble and use the area for their political game. The yellow shirts are NOT welcome in this area by the locals! Period!
