I visited Phear Vihear 2008. I saw a sign “Proud to be born as Khmer”. A few hundred meters away, I saw a few Khmer soldiers wearing sandals and some wearing old military boots. Some of these front-line soldiers complained their salaries were delayed and ripped off by their officers who needed extra money for their French wine. Sometimes, they survived on donations from businesses and locals. The Thais look down on Khmers because they see all of these craps from Hun Sen who betrays his soldiers.

I pray there be no war! Top military leaders in Phnom Penh drive Mercedes while the wounded soldiers had no proper vehicle to take them to hospital. They were transported in an old Toyota to hospital. Khmer soldiers are not well-equipped and not ready for war. They look more like militias. I feel sorry for these poor soldiers. Hun Sen is to blame for making these Khmer soldiers badly equipped. Corruption in Hun Sen government makes Cambodia look like a lame duck in the time of war.

I don't know whats going on since I am not Cambodian or Thai I am a Guatemalan and from my point of view I believe that Thailand should just leave Cambodia alone. I like Cambodians they're a rich culture that reminds me of my own people the Mayans who were almost exterminated by the Spaniards.

Was in Cambodia last month and was emotionally shattered as a Indian Hindu, seeing all the temples in dilapidated condition including Angkor Wat. Almost all the Shivalingas have been razed and Lord Buddha's statues placed on top of them. Massive big temple, but I could not feel the divinity or vibration inside it. I request Thailand and Cambodia to stop this non sense and preserve the ancient monuments and their shared history. Om Namah Shivaya!
