It's amazing to come back to paragliding after thirty years to find people doing what we back then called "migration" as an idea! I'm looking forward to my first successful migration! Great to watch your video and great to hear your in flight decision making. A pleasure to watch. Best wishes.
I've been flying paragliders for just over two years and finally got bit by the XC bug! Your videos are by far my favorite because of your out loud decision making and strategies. I learn so much from your videos and can't wait to fly big XC missions like this! I even watch these while on the stair machine at the gym because they hype me up! Cheers!
Fun to see my own twin brother move to Queenstown and take up sailplanes, while I go the other way and go with Run/hike Fly after a thirty year break (yes, that really is possible!). Wonder whether he or I gets the most bang for their buck 😊. Great videos , thanks for the motivation mate!
love it when you try to pronounce the swiss town names... but nice line you took. I know the area well, and it is always epic to see it from another perspective
What a cool edit of what looks like a great trip. Super inspiring! I particularly like the transitions where you 'swipe' into the GPS tracklog - very neat :)
Another work day with a smoko to look forward to. Thanks Ben, looks like a great mission That vario tone at 6:10 was hard to watch. Like watching one of your mates hit on your auntie, and she is into it.
This was an amazing adventure in a stunning landscape, skillfully undertaken, beautifully filmed. You deserve way more than your current 5K subscribers. Thank you so much for posting.
This is awesome! Enjoying watching you doing such a nice advanture in my neighbourhood. And if you are still wondering about Chur: pronounce it like you would say "cool" but with a "r" instead a "l" at the end 🙂
Brilliant stuff Benjamin, certainly inspiring and educational on a wild winter evening in west of Ireland…great video production/editing and lots to learn…pointy one in the sun! Perfect description 😊look forward to catch up on more of you videos which I have just discovered 🤙
Another great video Ben, love your content and speak regularly to local pilots about your videos. A topic came up amongst us about safe mounting of video equipment particularly your 360 cam - could you possibly do a short video of exactly how you mount these and the risks involved like take off and landing procedures while using cameras, basically your thoughts and experience for filming while flying?
Yeah, I will it's been firmly on my to do list for way too long now. But in short, I mount the 360 on the carabiner with a clamp, I don't recommend it as it can easily get caught on lines on take off. I've had it wrapped around brake lines before, if it's super windy its dangerous.
@@BenjaminKellett yea sweet that's pretty much along the same train of thought we were having, it's a gap in the market but we can't seem to come up with a better alternative 🤔 still would be keen to see a video of yours with battery life storage capacity etc etc. Cheers for the reply dude happy flying
Keep doing them... Love your editing, makes a coherent story out of a multitude of short videos. Glad you came and did videos in the 'Northern Alps :-)' because I could relate with the terrain and so connect with your adventure, in a way that my unfamiliarity with the Southern Alps was not make it possible in your previous videos...
That intro is epic af tho! On my bivi journey from france to austria, I flew that southside you choose not to fly :D crossed chur and flew straight to austria keep up the good work, really enjoying those vids.
Awesome as always. I am not as experienced paraglider as you, so I do not fly in such big mountains, but I am enjoying to watch it and hoping that some day I will fly there myself. So lets cook some mash potato :-D :-D
All in all an amazing voyage! 🙂 I would have wished you better luck with the flights on the first and fourth day, but the third day was really impressive! 😮😊👍
Man, you nearly have flown over my house 🤩 (some few km north of what you call "Tschöör", which would be Chur and is actually pronounced [ˈxuːr]) ... Next time, come down and I will brew you a nice coffee and will provide you with as much salt as you need.
Hi Ben! Great video! - Have the 32 liter of space in the rear trunk of the BV2 been large enough for all your stuff, or did you also have to remove the protector? How much liter of additional material (without glider and harness) did you take with you?
Start carrying MRE's to eat. Probably heavier than what you carry, but they also have a lot more calories .You can go to one meal a day. If you can find the actual military version they also have hot sauce
Yeah it was mostly light wind's but depending on your experience level some lee side actually has good thermals as long as it's not too strong. It's more turbulent so need to approach with caution!
"either I get up or I land in the valley for beer and ice cream... either way I'm winning." I represent that remark.
Haha true eh
the work put into editing and stitching your footage into a narrative is commendable. thanks for the great content
Ah thanks very much mate!

"Pointy one that's in the sun" - perfectly distils everything you need to know about XC paragliding 😃
haha exactly! Over the pointy stuff, under the fluffy stuff and point it for goal! 😎

13:49 Aw mate, the light on that slope is magical! What a view. A know of a few landscape photographers who'd pay good money to be there with you.
Pretty memorable experience that one!
You just keep on giving. Thank you

Great Video! Maybe you could once come to Melchsee Frutt. Also in the swiss alps and beautiful landscape there.
Greetings from Switzerland
Great trip and video Ben! Like when you explain your decisions (especially when it doesn't work out). Helps us Fledglings. Thanks, Katja

Good video as usual. Keep going. Greeting from Italy

Awesome! Thanks mate! Yeah Chur is a bit of a slang word in NZ so funny to see an actual town called the same 😅 thank you!

this is mindblowing!!

Gotta share the good with the bad eh!

Ooo they sound good!
Are you flying generally in very light winds, I ask from you changing from South, West slopes with no worry of Lee. Newbie asking..
Yeah it was mostly light wind's but depending on your experience level some lee side actually has good thermals as long as it's not too strong. It's more turbulent so need to approach with caution!
that the Lindt chocolate is presented from a white girl is a real miracle :-)
🤣
@@BenjaminKellett nice Trip man✌️😁
very good
Day 3 an epic blue day. Well done.
At what altitude do you start thinking (or forgetting) about hypoxia?
Not until over 15,000 ft really
Awesome man. Been looking forward to this video. We have a few p3's in the states and would love to do a "guided" vol Biv. Is that a thing?
i think „kinga masztalerz“ is doing that in new zealand if im not mistaken.
Yeah she is!!
