Crime in the city is disgusting and it slowly seems to moving into the suburbs.
The weather in Rochester is unpredictable ,so it is wise to trake D3 ,and also don't put your winter or summer clothes in storage because it may snow one day,and be 80 the next day.
While he says the cost of living is good,he is wrong . The rent is rising but the wages are not. If you want a 1 bedroom in a good area, and the landlord takes care of the property, you will not be paying any less than $1200 a month, but you have to have 2 jobs to cover that because the wages are low. Some jobs pay good wages but they won't allow you to work past a certain amount of hours, hence forcing you to get 2 jobs.
You can find cheaper rentals that have roaches ,and bed bugs ,and risk of home invasion in the inner city for about $700 or $900 a month
The gas and electric service is very expensive also, so if you are a small home owner be prepared to pay more for utilities than you do mortgage

Ya….. the market has shifted in a way in which the principalities of homeownership has definitely become more difficult. Although not impossible, and definitely applicable with certain grants that are for first time, homebuyers, and investors. The air city has definitely not been the best for the past few years, and is struggling to grow.
The one good thing to mention is Rochester’s educational, facilitation, and the high school graduation rates have gone up in the last few years. I’m reaching about 75 to 80% now.
I hope that this is a good trajectory, and this is a number in which they can change the future of our ad for the next few years.

@@LivingInRochesterNY-k3k while it has become a bit more difficult to purchase a home everywhere not just the ROC, there has been mention from some realities that the buyers market is starting to look better.
Also yes, the high school graduation has been doing better than expected after covid. Let's just hope the elementary schools test scores improve so that we can have more lovely graduates in the future.

@babeena_gt_3645 Do you realize that in my area we are paying 2k-5k a month (i pay 2750) for rent and the minimum wage in my area and your area are a dollar difference. That sounds like a god damn vacation only paying 1200 a month!!! I also checked my particular field of work and its about 35$ and hour over here and 32$ an hour over there. House prices here average median home is 5-600k most averaging 650-1 mill+ here. i can buy a home over there for 150-250k that's decent. Unfortunately the weather and the crime kills it. Also i don't live in a major city our whole state is like this. Can't even touch a home for 300k here maybe a shed in the sticks. I also just checked our average electric rate and its double rochester ny's. Makes it seem like a fucking bargain but it's an old town with not much going for it.. so it seems. Seems more people are leaving than moving in. I was looking a syracuse as well. I just don't need the ghetto ass hood boogers. I hate that shit been around it half my life. Just stupid fucking people and don't need em in my life. Yo yo. Gang gang. Gtfoh. Get a job B!! Anyways just wanted to fill you in.
