I sang Summertime to my granddaughter for 9 months. After she was born she would calm down and smile. She is 21, she still responds to it today.

Oh sheesh. I'm not even 5 minutes in, and I'm already in tears. I had no idea this degree even existed until after I worked full time and paid my own way through college, for a degree my parents wanted me to get... To this day, I wish I had known about pediatric occupational therapy or pediatric music therapy. THAT is what would have resonated with me, but at this point, I'm already into my 40's and the thought of 4 more years of paying for another degree is rather daunting. Yet, here I am - in tears... dreaming of going back to school and doing what I want to do. I so definitely missed my mission in life but I had no idea those degrees even existed. Sigh.

It's never too late to do what makes your heart sing. You are never too old to do and be what your soul calls you to do or be. Our life is constant learning and growing, sharing and loving. You are exactly where you need to be, don't feel like you missed anything. I believe in you Emily!

It’s never too late to follow your calling. It’s a leap of faith, but it will absolutely make an impact and mean the world to the people that you help. Your pursuit is one of love, connection, and service. There’s no way that that is a waste of time. Whatever you choose to do will be the right thing for you. You are brave, kind, important, and loved. I hope that you remember that no matter what. 💖💖

I love her soothing singing but sometimes times you need to turn on some active beats to signal to the body that it’s time to get up and live! If your sick turn on some good rap music and see don’t you feel better! Some music sounds like your accepting death and then other music makes you feel like you got more time, it’s all about balance!

Doing an essay on music therapy to aid depression and this video came on automatically & I let it play as I typed, but kept listening incase something relevant came up. But when she showed him singing let it shine, I stopped everything & started crying. Music is such a strong thing. My personal experience may not be the same level but how the brain reacts to music is so helpful for me as I've grown up as a dancer but also now write lyrics & make the music I write to & it all helps so much to release emotion that I've contained for too long, as well as 2 of my friends that deal with depression and another who dances in the same group as me.

The major part of music therapy is to let you have a tactile feeling which is created by the vibration sound. Yes this technology is now available and patterned . First use in Headphone.

Doctor Lane punctuates fascinating anecdotes about her time as a Music Therapist with her own soulful mezzo-soprano. ‘Music is an evidence based profession,’ Lane enthuses, but to the layperson it co-exists in the realms of powerful magic. Lane speaks of hope brought through music in the midst of tragedy. Still in vitro, baby Samantha danced under Lane’s fingers while she sang. This is ‘life on the inside responding to music on the outside’ which is an apt theme to Lane’s presentation and the universal power of music to heal. Mr M, an elderly deacon, who had suffered a stroke had lost the ability to speak. By engaging in familiar gospel music, Mr M’s verbal abilities were resurrected through song. Lane finishes her presentation with a spiritual - ‘Over my head I hear music in the air, there must be a god somewhere’ a fitting metaphor for musical healing.

To understand anything non-physical, one needs a certain level of creativity and imagination. Frequencies are hard to see but easy to feel.
