This police brutality is still very unfortunately a reality five years later! I say this as a white man. I've been stopped for little or no reason, in the town I grew up in, quite a few times. The officers always had something stupid to say. But I was living in the E. Bay at that time. B/c I looked out of place, they asked me where I was going, and who I was visiting. And did not believe I was visiting my parents. Even asked me "What are you doing HERE?" WTF?? I at that point got a small taste of what minorities had been experiencing all along. But it had happened before. Getting pulled over (with new tags) for no reason. Just to check me out, maybe for intoxication. I was always respectful and honest though. That is what saved me.
