Tig- I really hope you know, in your very core of yourself, you are beyond talented. When we watch you, we lean in. I’m not sure how else to describe the experience. Your timing, delivery, the picture you paint in our collective minds and the ridiculously funny places you take us…. Pure joy.
    And.
Your acting, the choices of material and who you surround yourself with are all fabulous to watch. Again, you inspire your audience to lean in, to hear you.

Great comment. I've always loved Tig but never realized how much I do lean in every time she speaks. It's like her every movement is fascinating and like a quiet contagious joy. I suppose this is what a highly funny and intelligent human looks like when they're truly in their integrity. Or perhaps it's just the Scott Pilgrim theory that great power comes with being vegan.

It was interesting to hear her speak on how dramatically she changed after her cancer and after her mother passing and I can relate because I changed dramatically after I was diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic at 12. My life had no choice but to change at that point. To survive. I'm 53 now but besides diet changes, it changes who you are. I'm definitely tougher but in other thought processes too. While it's a pain in the ass, I'm smarter about decisions. I'm a huge fan of hers and this was a great conversation between you two.

This comment almost made me cry. I'm currently going thru a big medical change and I know my life will have to change and I'm honestly pretty scared that I can't do it and I'll never feel better then I do now. It's nothing as terrifying as diabetes thankfully but after 35 years of doing the same things and having to change basically my entire lifestyle is daunting. Especially while I'm still in the testing and pain phase. I hope I can be as strong as you were at just 12.

I agree with what Neal is saying about how people pretty much don't change unless they almost die, but with a slight difference. I think they don't change unless they perceive an existential threat in their life. Sometimes that threat is medical, physical, or psychological, but it can also be spiritual. I've known a couple of people who took stock of their life sometime in their 30s or 40s and realized that they were never going to get what they needed out of life and found that thought so terrifying, nullifying in a way, that it precipitated real change for them.

@31:50 I really need to preface this by saying my career is probably 0.1% as successful as Tig's.
Sometimes, when I deliver a product to a client and they get overly excited about it and shower me with praise, I not only cringe but, if I'm being honest with myself, I lose a bit of respect for them. What I mean by this (and it prob comes from abysmal levels of self-worth) is that my thoughts are to the effect of "ugh... THIS is what you consider amazing? are you serious?! THIS is what your standards are??? I could have done much better than that. I think I respect you less because I see how impressed you are by so little."
Not saying it's a healthy thought process, but I totally get the "oh... seriuosly?! you sure about that?..."

@@weirdloverwilde well it’s not 2006, so Dane Cook isn’t relevant. Plus he wasn’t funny then. And Joe Rogan is a fed and possibly less funny than Tig. Any other suggestions 🤭

Tig is fantastic. The bit about kicking her baby across the room🤣 Figuring out kids are built like Rubbermaid is key to getting em to laugh really hard... And annoy your spouse 😁
