@@TrailerTrashtoTreasure I just finished the framing. I have all the aluminum siding but need a new roof. Not sure if i should try to make a rolled aluminum roof or try epdm. any thoughts? source for aluminum roofing? (65 cox canned ham camper) Thanks!
I would probably stick with aluminum. There's a lot of sources for that, but we worked with Hemet Valley RV in California. I've also heard of people working with shops that work on semi trailers.
When I was doing my Roof on my mini camper trailer I'm retro fitting, I thew up a couple old lawn mover blades as weights LOL! Yet never say this is embarrassing, they are teaching moments. But you are doing a great job.
The walls are 1/4" birch plywood, and the ceiling is 1/8" oak plywood. I haven't been able to find the oak in a while at my local home stores though, so I used 2.7mm utility panel from Home Depot on my next camper's ceiling. The utility panel isn't the prettiest stuff though, so if you're planning on lacquering it, you might be doing a bit of extra prep to get it useable, but it's certainly cheap and flexible.
Hi from Texas. Loving this series. I'm redoing a 13-foot 1986 fiberglass Play-Mor II (think Scamp or Casita). I'm a landscape photographer so it will be put to good use.
Thanks for following along! We didn't know Play Mor made a fiberglass trailer but we've always loved Scamps and Bolers and wanted to renovate one! We love when photography and campers come together, too 😉
I didn’t know they made one until I saw it on Marketplace. I couldn’t get to the guy’s house fast enough. Can’t wait until your next video! Best of luck, fellow photogs.
Thanks! We got ours on Amazon here: www.amazon.com/dp/B07C7LGY4P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_h1dOFbQDF1EBN because at the time, it was out of stock everywhere else. It looks like you can order it on Vintage Trailer Gaskets now though in multiple colors. www.vintagetrailergaskets.com/29-cabinet-gimp
Did you see the people in the window watching when the panel blew off the camper? Funny
Yeah, that was Simon and his Mamaw keeping an eye on us!

Thanks! You do find all sorts of clever fixes when you start tearing into one of these old campers!
Will you share what thickness of Luan you used (if you can remember!).
