    Great bird, under 20,000 ft the Folke Wulf ruled. 2/20mm in each wing and 17mm on each side of the engine. Firepower was awesome and a great gun platform.

    Love an Eastern Front version. Best cockpit detail is pilot. With wheels up. Even old Monagram, Hasegawa or Fujimi pilots are nice.

    Hey mate - Nice build overall but the colours aren't correct for this aircraft. 584582 yellow 14 + bar was a late war F-8 not A-8 (I have the Eduard kit 😊). As with schemes of the time, the lower wing surface was RLM76 from the leading edge to mid wing, the remainder was natural metal. This aircraft also had the lower tail planes in primer red. Upper wing surface was 75/83 and fuselage 81/83. Props would've' been the VD9 all wood so no chipping. Wheel wells would still be RLM02.(I've noticed Tamiya's latest RLM02 is way too dark and not green enough compared to their old '02). All you're missing is the antenna wire - good thing with A-8/F-8's they had the retracting type not the saggy type like D-9's. Looking forward to more builds. Cheers cobber! 👍👍👍

    I get excellent results with chrome powder applied by brush to various worn areas. Also, use a tough made for plastic aluminum base core, apply acrylic paints for camouflage and sand lightly worn areas. Aluminum base core gets exposed very nicely!

    With older Monogram crew figures you have perfection. Pilot is the best cockpit detail. You need to modify wheels up version. I have 3 of these. 2 Eastern Front. 1 Western front theatre of operations.

    would tamiya olive drab work as rlm 83? ammo mig uses olive drab dark as rlm 83. is there a difference? Because I can't get neither the gunze nor the ammo mig. and I still have lot's of olive drab.

    • @mikey6020
      @mikey6020 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, it's too dark. If you only have access to Tamiya paints there are a few schools of thought on the ratios for RLM 83 Dunkelgrün - one is XF61 or XF24:1 + XF51:1. Another option is the previous colours but in an 8:1 ratio. But remember we're talking late war here, so you could take some artistic license. I prefer the mantra of "the colour is wrong but the model looks right" rather than "the colour is right but the model looks wrong". 😊 Cheers cobber 👍
