    The 2019 Subaru Impreza is Canada's cheapest All Wheel Drive (AWD) car, and in this video, we review it, in the snow, in the middle of a Northern Ontario winter.
    The tester is a 2019 Subaru Impreza Sport-tech-- complete with EyeSight safety system and Lineartronic CVT transmission. (And of course, Subaru Symmetrical All Wheel Drive!)

    This sums up very well how I feel about my own 2019 Impreza. I found it surprisingly pleasant to drive with that compact, agile feel.

    Got the 2017 - "cheapest AWD model" lol yup got the hatch back for trunk space and 4 wheel drive on the cheaper side. Was going for a small SUV but went with the Impreza. Been good so far!

    Very well-done review! I'm most likely going to lease an Impreza tomorrow, and except for the anemic power, I think I'll be pleased. Life in Vermont is much easier with AWD.

    I don't want to buy an SUV and would rather have a smaller car. Is the Impreza really good for the snow? Should I just get a Crosstrek or Forester? I'm curious about ground clearance importance for when I move to a snowy state this winter.

  • @alaltura6506

    I have a 2019 Impress Premium. It's a good car. One I don't like is the instrumentation. 1. They get rid of coolant temp., 2. There is no indication if the headlight is on 3. Fuel indicator should be in mileage needle and mileage indicator should be in the center console. Other than that drivability and handling is good.

    I kinda questioned how well our '18 Impreza wagon rode on semi rough roads until I drove a '16 Ford Fiesta on the same roads the other day. The Impreza rides like a Rolls Royce compared to the Fiesta. In fact my '07 Chevy Silverado Classic 1500 rides better than a Fiesta on the same roads. I also had 2 taller adults in the backseat for a 200 mile round trip. One guy was 5-10 and the other guy was 6-1. I got no complaints and even asked them if it was comfortable with enough room. They liked it a lot. I question how Subaru got so much room in a car that small.

      You gotta change the extractors, catback to 2.5" and get an AEM/K&N CAI. As soon as you put bigger exctractors; the car goes really quick. It is slow stock because it has poor intake and exhaust flow.

      Genevieve Boucher I’ve had my 2019 Impreza hatchback for over a year, I average 33.1 gallons combined, I do drive more on the highway, but it’s still pretty decent on mpg, esspecially for an awd vehicle. So it’s pretty close to the manufacture MPG, it’s only 152 HP so it’s not a very quick car, but you’ll have no problem merging onto a highway, or passing someone.

    • @abrahamakhtar2508
      @abrahamakhtar2508 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I drive a 2019 Impreza CVT. Yes, it gets terrible gas mileage. I drive a 50/50 mix of city and highway, and it gets about 22 MPG. The dial says 29.2 MPG, but that's not true. I get about 250 miles with 12 gallons of gas.
      As for it being slow: yes it is. It's only fast when you turn it on and the revs are high to get the engine hot. Once it cools down after a minute or two, the car slows down and becomes very sluggish. I drove a Corolla before my Impreza, and the Corolla drove like a rally car compared to the Impreza - it was light, powerful, and handled corners like a Porsche.
      So yes, you are correct. The Impreza gets bad MPG and it's slow. However, there are many benefits to it, which is why I bought it over another Corolla.

    I ordered a new 2022 Impreza premium. I ordered back in July. Because of the chip shortage, they tell me to expect my car sometime in October. After research, we feel that you get mire bang for your buck with the premium trim level. We also own a 2018 Impreza base 5 door. Which we purchased née in late 2017. The base comes with steel wheels and wheel covers. Stay away from the base. We have lost several wheel covers. By the time you buy all the covers, you could have purchased the alloy wheels. It is not worth the price difference between the premium and the sport. Where Subaru is falling short, is in the engine. The 2.0 is very weak at 152 horses. If Subaru would just up the game and at least offer the 2.5 it would be competitive with say the Mazda and other brands. Subaru offers it in the crosstrek. But not the Impreza. I STILL opted for the Impreza, but held my nose . The 2.5 would add 30 more horses at 182 horse power, with little difference in MPG. I own 3 Subarus, so I would say I’m a true fan of the brand. But Subaru needs to listen to the customer. And so far, not one single response.

      Actually, the (2019-onwards) Mazda3 now has awd; premium interiors you'd only find in luxury brands for just $18k, faster acceleration, non-CVT engine (not that I have anything against CVTs that most "enthusiasts" commenters), sportier design and aesthetics, higher hp. The only 2 factors the Impreza takes is it has better fuel economy and a better infotainment than the 3.
