Sollte also "immer" gelingen😅
What a commitment, to focus on this airframe and carry out the build to this level. You certainly chose a unique aircraft that would stick out in any collection. Congratulations!
Marvellous ! That is a beautiful model, and the best looking and sounding scale flying model in the air on TH-cam. Delmar Benjamin always said that when he flew his GeeBee R 2 it was like riding a Canonball and he had to be seven moves ahead of it at all times. A superb maiden flight by an excellent Pilot, superb landing too, Congratulations cheers Paul
Dass war ganz ja schoen. Great job building and flying the GB, the "Flying Coke Bottle." I have driven by where the plane was built and flown in Springfield, MA, now a shopping center I believe. Ya did good, Mensch.
Damn that's the best sounding model I ever heard in my life@!!!!!! Great plane and flying. Awesome!!! You must be proud. I can't find the words to express myself.
@@Daniela64364 You're welcome. Your a great pilot with a unique wonderful plane that I can't find the words for. It's sound so realistic, just amazes me. Take care have a wonderful life and enjoy every minute, especially with the marvelous plane you have!!!😉 👍🏻👍🏻🖖🏻❤
The airplane and model are a favorite of mine. Agawam Massachusetts. Great build and flight. It must be a little difficult to watch it soaring in the sky and not be in it and feeling the controls. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. Cheers
That’s amazing. Now the excitement begins in the fine tuning and setting up of the aircraft. But it’s unlike any other GeeBee I’ve seen fly, this one floats. Well done
Wunderbares Modell, erstklassiger sound vom Motor, tolle Flugzeugbeherrschung, hervorragende Kameraführung und klasse Unterstützung vom Fabi ...! Daumen hoch!
Hello, thank you very much, I'm glad you like my machine. Only the size of your machine is not right :-)) Great what you are doing! Spitfire etc...........
The 1930s golden era of Air Racing Crafts is my favorite decade. So many cool designs were built for only one thing - to win air competitions, trophies, and prize money!
The Granville brothers who constructed the original full scale "Gee Bee" racers were close to my home in Massachusetts. This 1/2 scale replica is absolutely superb! And the piloting skills were outstanding, as these stub wing beasts were very difficult to handle!
Fabulous build and a nicely controlled flight... Nerves of steel required to fly such a large aircraft... To say nothing about the amount of time spent and cost... So well done.
Looks like it was a great flight after you stopped shaking, beautiful work on the plane, geebee is one of my favorites and always will be. Now of to watch Rocketeer!
Beautiful plane and awesome flight! Gee Bee's are known to be a difficult plane to land, but you make it look easy. All the best for you and your family!
Doesn't the named "Scaled Composites" come from the planes they made at 6:10 scale? They found that they could get "good enough" aero characteristics at that scale and I'm sure they used pilots. Not sure if they still in that business, but that's where the name comes from.
Such a great build and flight. It looks and sounds like the real thing in the air. Glückwunsch! I've seen the replica of the full-size Gee Bee R2 fly, and have spoken to Delmar Benjamin about what it's like to fly. It seemed to fly very well and under fine control, not skittish as if it were unstable or sloppy in any way. Delmar, who was very nice and kind to me, said that it was not at all the handful that it was supposed to be as long as he kept airspeed where it need to be which was anything over 80 mph. The same can be said of any high performance aircraft. He also said that he liked flying it, was comfortable in it, and only had to be extra careful immediately after takeoff and on approach to landing. He said that it could snap roll in a flash if the nose was raised too quickly when at slower airspeeds (high Alpha). He said that the R2 stalled without any serious problems (he never spun it) aside from the left wing dropping pretty quickly at the break from engine/prop torque if any power was on, and that it did not like flying slowly at all, understandable for a racing airplane.. However, I never saw it look like he was working particularly hard when he landed it, perfectly and gently on the mains every time.
Thank you very much for your congratulations and this very interesting story about your conversation with Benjamin Delmar. It is absolutely consistent with the details I know from various books. Nevertheless, it is extremely impressive for me when you can talk personally with such exceptional pilots as Delmar. Many greetings from Austria!

I ❤ that plane! Can you imagine a little pilot in the cockpit, era appropriate attire, leather helmet with little gomer goggles? Now imagine behind those goggles in the pilot's head are two hi res cameras for your FPV setup. Regardless of the cost, I would have to have it. Easily attainable these days. Again, beautiful aircraft.❤

Well before I grew up but the local linage was left behind still when I was a kid! I loved the design for its time but to unstable from to much horsepower for its design.
nice R2 but next fligh pleas come close we can see from that far away it takes away for a beautifull airplane congratulation on the maiden look forward to seeing more.
Gotta be the most difficult RC Scale model to fly. I saw a smaller scale model fly at a RC Air Show years ago. And the smaller, the more difficult it is to fly the damn thing! This one actually seems to be gliding better. Is it modified or perfect scale? Also saw videos of Delmar Benjamin flying the real non-RC, full-scale GeeBee R2
So many RC planes look like toys in the sky with impossible maneuvers. This beautiful ship flew like a real airplane. And what a sound!
