In this viedeo I build a pneumatically driven linear generator. You could blow the exhaust air from pneumatic systems into a generator. This would recover some energy. Compressed air is expensive.
The pneumatic linear generator is not fully developed. Some problems have been encountered. One of the main problems is the precision of a 3D printer.
I have built 2 versions. You can download all 3D printed parts. 20mm PVC pipes were used. The magnets have a diameter of 15mm.

Yes that is a good idea :-). but I'm happy with what I've achieved so far. I just keep going.

Very intelligent attempt. I would suggest some changes and dropping the reciprocating rods and air-in/air-out concepts. I would use magnets on a rotating axle only on one side pushing magnets at the end of the generator magnet rod and spring at the other end to ensure the reciprocating action. You may use air jet or small DC motor to rotate the magnet rod. That would simplify the whole thing. By the way, why not add more parallel coils on same surface area to maximize outputÉ Good luck,

Hello, these are very good ideas. If I continue this project, I will think about it more carefully.

If you have a machine exhausting air after using compressed air to do work, and you connect this machine to the exhaust, you will have to increase the amount of compressed air going in to the original machine to do the same work. It works by the laws of physics. If you restrict the exhaust in anyway you lose some of the work done on the front end. It's the reason the high performance cars have open exhausts. It takes energy to get the air out.
On another thought I am intrigued by your design and the implementation of it.
