In Cthulu mythos, Azathoth is the sleeping blind idiot god and unwitting creator of the universe whose dreams form the basis of reality. Adam Kadmon represents the primeval man in Gnostic religion, and in simple terms, if I'm remembering correctly, is the pure and uncorrupted divine form of humanity. It is ultimate divine knowledge and potential. It's the essence of humanity untouched by the corrupting influence of the Demiurgus /Yaldabaoth as the human spirit is our true form, which originated from the divine element and shaped into the soul and flesh created by Demiurgus. This is also what achieving Gnos is supposed to be, and the end goal of Gnosticism. Avid Persona fans should already see the parallels between the two in Persona's mythos. I'll leave it at that cause this was long-winded as it is, and I can't wait to see if part 2 goes where I think it's going.

Azathoth is sometimes equated as being an aspect of Nyarlathotep... Or the opposite... in their source material. We see Azathoth act independently of Maruki. Azathoth serves as the foundation for the calcification of the Metaverse, a privilege that only Philemon and Jose have demonstrated outside of the natural calcification that strong wills unconsciously shape. Finally, Adam Kadamon is the ideal form of man. Which is what we could expect from a fusion between humanity's embodiments darkness and light. (Though in this case it would be a proxy for light being Maruki's distorted desires... Which were represented as light...) I posit thusly: Azathoth is Nyarlathotep. Just as the Holy Grail trapped the Velvet Room within its Palace... So too did Maruki's Palace trap the "box" containing the sealed Nyarlathotep. From there it was simply that he was unsealed by accident by the shadows of Maruki's Palace. This would also explain the Cthulhu Mythos monsters being prevalent there too. Then the weakened Nyarlathotep did what he likes to do: pretend to be a person's persona until he is strong enough to break free and do more.

I am a relatively new fan (since 2017 when i found out about p5) this has opened my eyes to a far deeper story and concepts i didnt know were here (ive only played p5,p5r, and p3r) ik some of this is theory but i really appreciate the perspectives.
Now the question is should you play persona 1 and 2 or will atlus release remakes within the next 2 years. Honestly I'd play it safe and wait and see what happens

Good theory, but sorry no, if Nyarly and Philemon would comeback Atlus would probably remembered that P1 and P2 duology exist and remake or just rerelease them, what is still possible if P6 will be in 2026. I think that 2026 is P6 year, 2029/30 is P6 Royal/Golden/Vengeance year, and maybe in 2034… witch is 10 years from now
The leakers that confirmed P3 reload and other projects, state that P6 will not have a Royal/Golden version, and that the Multi Year DLC, will sorta be in place of that. Also, those same leakers state that P2 Duology is getting a remake/remaster

That's only true with the games directed by Hashino. The Persona 2 duology was more of a direct sequel to the original Persona, with a party member from 1 even joining the party in Innocent Sin. Considering Persona 6 has a new director, it's unclear if he'll keep up Hashino's attitude of loose continuity

Innocent Sin has almost every single party member from P1 showing up as NPCs, with the events of P1 being explicitly referenced by all of them. I believe only 2 of the party are excluded. One P1 character straight up joins the party as you said for the majority of Innocent Sin (she gets replaced towards the end). In Eternal Punishment, all of the P1 characters who were NPCs return as NPCs again, with two new ones being able to join the party depending on choices you make (One of them was a miss-able camo in IS, while the other doesn't appear at all). The main villain of P1 even shows up as a boss fight half-way through where he interacts with the P1 party member. And that's not even taking into account the returning side characters including two teachers from P1's school.

That's only true with the games directed by Hashino. The Persona 2 duology was more of a direct sequel to the original Persona, with a party member from 1 even joining the party in Innocent Sin. Considering Persona 6 has a new director, it's unclear if he'll keep up Hashino's attitude of loose continuity

Innocent Sin has almost every single party member from P1 showing up as NPCs, with the events of P1 being explicitly referenced by all of them. I believe only 2 of the party are excluded. One P1 character straight up joins the party as you said for the majority of Innocent Sin (she gets replaced towards the end). In Eternal Punishment, all of the P1 characters who were NPCs return as NPCs again, with two new ones being able to join the party depending on choices you make (One of them was a miss-able camo in IS, while the other doesn't appear at all). The main villain of P1 even shows up as a boss fight half-way through where he interacts with the P1 party member. And that's not even taking into account the returning side characters including two teachers from P1's school.
