Bayern is definitely my favorite Duetsche Staat by far from the Spessart Mountains in the north where I lived in Aschaffenburg to those grand towering Alps south in Bertschgaden. The scenery is breathtaking along with the preserved and rebuild castles like the one next to the Main River named Johannisburg Palace. The food was fabulous from the Hand Kasse mit Musik to rich tasty Jaegerschnitzel. The people were warm and friendly. There's a village along the Main River that never suffered any damage by RAF or US Army Air Corp. A young Capt flying an escort Mustang for an 8AF bomber squadron convinced his high command to not inflict any damage to the tiny village of Miltenburg. A picturesque middle ages hamlet that still has the stone wall surrounding it from its day of being the frontline defense. While there fm 85'-87' the small town just southeast of our kaserne named Hailsbach was having their 800 yr anniversary of being an incorporated town. To see the pictures as well as videos of the total destruction and devastation that the Third Reich subjected Duetschland to was unimaginable. Being there a mere four decades later to see a rebuilt , tidied up, totally modern happy, healthy, and hearty nation was excellerating to say the least. The way the skilled craftsman rebuild middle ages castles to look original was incredible. Living less than 40 miles from Frankfurt(little Chicago) gave great opportunities for entertain and good international dining. On the towns on the way to stop off in was Hanau to see the original house of the Brothers Grimm and the barracks that the King of Rock n Roll Elvis Pressley called home. In the staat of Baden-Württemburg was a little town called Kornwestheim that had a place call Der Rock Fabrik(the rock factory). Four or five stages with different genres of music on each, as well as restaurants, bars, tatoo parlors, tshirt and other music paraphernalia shop all under one roof. It had to be in the neighborhood of a quarter million square feet! My time spent there was uber alles for sure!
Great video 👍. I love Bavaria, and its people. I find it very sad that he was battered and lied about on social media. They called him a Nazi, when in reality, he hated it. He wanted to be a priest, not a soldier. He was actually forced into doing it, and his family was very disliked by the government for their Catholic beliefs that went against what the Nazis thought.
