putting the politics surrounding the lockdowns/vaccine to the side, it’s really not that much of a stretch to say that a massive lab that was experimenting with covid strains for years before 2020 was the source of the outbreak.
These changes will just contribute to the already existing trend or politics becoming less and less about logical arguments and more and more about yelling at each other and making up problems to offer solutions that will severely harm innocent people. The thing is, social media already promotes ragebait, which means the the most unhinged and dumb at best or destructive at worst ideas are the ones that get the most attention. The bigger problem are the algorithms designed for us to be on social media to get mad at something, and this will always lead to hatred and toxicity (and more ad revenue for big companies).
100% on point. It is scary the fact that debates (From politicians and on TV) dozens of years ago, were done in a way that each part expressed what they believed in (Doesn't matter if right or wrong), mostly didn't talk on top of each other, and the people listening and the conductors were truly interested in what each side had to say. They are banned in public schools because they aren’t books kids need to be having pushed on them at school, and if they want to read them and their parents let them they still can, they just aren’t going to be doing it on the schools dime. Just like you can’t say whatever you want in school without facing punishment, or teachers can’t try to push certain narratives on kids when teaching doesn’t mean the state “isn’t free”. The focus of school is on educating children, not providing them with smut or trying to push ideologies on them.

I really hope this video is a one off thing because if you continue with the schizophrenic /pol/ rants I'm unsubscribing
I’m all for free speech and personal freedoms. Say what you want, believe what you want-it’s your right. But here’s the thing: free speech also means I have the right to call out bullshit when I see it. That’s the beauty of it: speech goes both ways. Where it all falls apart is when someone knows they’re lying, twisting narratives, or operating in bad faith and keeps doing it anyway. That’s not free speech in the noble sense-it’s weaponized dishonesty. And, like all rights, free speech comes with responsibility. You don’t get to shout “fire” in a crowded theater and then whine about consequences. Rights without accountability are just chaos. You rant about platforms like Meta and Twitter censoring content, but conveniently leave out how unchecked lies and hate speech lead to real-world harm. It’s not just people “expressing opinions”; it’s people inciting violence, spreading disinformation, and eroding the foundations of democracy. That’s where the line gets drawn. The pyramid of hate didn’t magically manifest-it’s built brick by brick by people exercising “free speech” irresponsibly. You want to champion the right to say anything? Fine. But don’t turn around and cry oppression when someone holds you accountable for the consequences of that speech. Here’s the real kicker: free speech isn’t just a right; it’s a responsibility. When you speak, you’re putting something out into the world that can’t be taken back. You’re shaping perspectives, influencing actions, and yes, sometimes escalating harm. If you want the freedom to speak freely, you have to accept the responsibility that comes with it-because someone else’s freedom to exist without harassment or violence is just as important as your freedom to say whatever you want. And let’s not pretend this isn’t all performative. Your so-called “based” heroes-Musk, Zuckerberg, et al.-aren’t defenders of liberty. They’re corporate opportunists looking out for their bottom line. The changes they’re making aren’t about protecting free speech-they’re about avoiding regulation and pandering to political power. They’re silencing marginalized voices to maintain profits while selling you the illusion of freedom. If you can’t see that, you’re just another pawn in their game. So yes, I support free speech. I also support calling out people on their bad-faith narratives and lies. You have the right to say whatever you want-but don’t forget that others have the right to challenge you, question you, and hold you accountable. Freedom without responsibility is meaningless, and it’s high time we start treating rights like the double-edged swords they are. If that’s too nuanced for your red-pill podcast bubble, maybe it’s time to reassess who’s really protecting freedom-and who’s just profiting off its destruction.
This isn't about criticizing free speech, they are changing the strictness of that speech. You can call stuff out, you just can't get them banned. Also, if you get your opinions from social media (NOT facts, opinion), you are simply ignorant. Read alike, don't think alike. That gets you farther than whining & banning people on the internet because someone thinks different.
@@GeorgeBrian-c2o The problem with this sentiment is that it assumes these platforms are neutral, when they’re anything but. Social media algorithms are designed to amplify the loudest, most divisive content-not the most truthful or constructive. And while you might think the shift in “strictness” is about balancing free speech, in reality, it’s about catering to the loudest, angriest voices, which often push disinformation, not genuine discourse. Also, claiming that people who form opinions based on social media are “simply ignorant” ignores how these platforms have become primary sources of information for millions. The issue isn’t just people getting their opinions from social media; it’s that the content they’re exposed to is manipulated by algorithms designed to maximize engagement, not accuracy. These systems push people toward extremist rabbit holes, often leaning right because outrage sells. That’s not free speech-that’s manufactured consent. And as for “you can call stuff out, you just can’t get them banned,” let’s not pretend these platforms are bastions of accountability. Calling out lies doesn’t work when the algorithm amplifies the disinformation tenfold, while suppressing fact-based content in favor of what generates the most clicks. This isn’t about people thinking differently-it’s about platforms profiting off division and deliberately poisoning public discourse. Ignoring that is far more naive than anything you’re accusing others of.
@@GeorgeBrian-c2o people really aren't banned for thinking different. Suppose someone brings up a discussion regarding personal rights and another person comes in and tells then that they should an hero for some reason and continues to engage for the sole purpose of putting that person down. Is that an acceptable scenario? I don't think so, most people wouldn't find it so. Now in a real context say that is a woman talking about verbal abuse she receives from male coworkers and a bunch of men enter the thread repeating said abuse. This is the same scenario but with actual context, the people that perpetuated the abuse would have their ability to speak revoked on the platform. That is how it has always been done, because they're assholes that only seek to divide and cause strife. The only people who protest bans like this and the "stifling of information" are the ones spreading false information and abusing others.

No established facts means no solutions, which means politicians of any stripe can litigate the same shit forever 😊
Socials push hate towards all the users, so that they can generate more clicks, thus more ads, and more money in the end... We should really all go Amish (And I am not joking), and reconnect with the world and nature
This, exactly this and this exactly.
Politics was never about logical arguments to begin with. Most people simply push politics they think is in their own best interest and just want to "win". No one cares about free speech, having civil debates or anything of the sort and they never did. Welcome to the real world.

Why do you not want pornographic books to be banned in schools? Are you a pedo?
exactly, doesn't matter if it's the bible or about gender studies. they banned books, therefore directly interferes with freedom of information.
Such a stupid ass argument, books aren’t banned for you in your own free time.
Some school districts are banning pornographic books, which isn't the same as the state government doing it.

cry about it, he's based
I’m all for free speech and personal freedoms.
Hate speech isn't real. Stop pretending to be pro free speech when you're clearly not.

are you that fucking fragile. Nothing he states in this video is extreme. You people are insane
@@sylvstuffs”kenny dude are you ok” 🥺
You sound like a 9 yr old 😂🤣

I really hope that this is just a one-off video and that this channel will continue to be about tech, cybersecurity and "facebook bad, open source good" instead of being political
He always did videos like this. It's not only political, it's tech related too, so I don't get the hate here.
@Dragwlya777 Idk, this video felt a bit different than the other ones (although I didn't watch every single video). This wasn't supposed to be hate, it's a worry of mine about the direction of this channel, and Mental's failure to see that there are no "sides" to switch, it's just Meta switching strategy to make more money...
@@Dragwlya777 what's happening here is that i think he cultivated a leftoid audience that came after he started doing videos like this after his linux tutorials, and stuff, and basically he said something they don't like, so the coping, seething, dilating, etc. is occurring.
He won, cope.
@@666chapelofblood yea, you won. Enjoy the turd sandwich. Hope it tastes good
Kenny, I really was NOT expecting seeing you taking your political views and baking it into your content. I don't think I'm unsubscribing, but it's really disappointing to see a channel that had pretty centrist views and tried to focus only on the situation being addressed. Of course, everyone is subjected to bias of all sorts, but dividing your community (composed of people on both sides of the political spectrum) just to get out your personal beliefs in order to possibly persuade your audience... really man?
You're better than this.
Yeah I felt this got a bit political!
Tbf, centrism is a also a bias. Centrism ≠ apolitical
@pezpeculiar9557 it's still better than siding solely with someone, centrists get to think more about their views. Everyone is entitled to a bias, as I said before
Did not seem that political to me...
if you've been watching his content you would know that he's very obviously right leaning
I guess this video is a litmus test. Anyone who thinks he has changed wasn't paying enough attention in previous videos.
He as in Kenny or Zucc
@@johnthomas2970 Kenny.
They are just lying. He has always been right wing and based, they just don't actually watch his videos.
Freedom of speech as long as you don't criticize the chosen people.
what chosen people??
@@mlshiza5335whoever the zuck deems the most profitable
"I can't criticize the chosen people", said the person criticizing the "chosen people"
I'd believe you if criticism of that people and their nation wasn't so popular. If you weren't allowed to criticize them, then you wouldn't even be able to say *that* much. As well, people cheer for their deaths on social media daily, yet nothing bad ever happens to the ones that are supposedly criticizing the most powerful group on the planet. It's almost like they're not that powerful or something.
@@electron6825 well he isnt on facebook now, big brain
Bro, you can see him trying to stifle a smirk when he says that people want political content again and that they'll foster a friendly community with it. Not even a lizard can say such bullshit with an intact poker face. lmao
Bruh, How can he bro, He no-cap n dat fam.
Companies have no morality
Executives have more in common with politicians than they do with the average citizen. Political platforms are a matter of convenience.
As someone that got my meme page and ALL MY ACCOUNTS absolutely eliminated (and that I still get notifications somehow in my mails?) for making memes of the isreal atks... LMAO.
It's crazy
You wouldn't like if people made memes about people bombing your home, right?
But I bet he wouldn’t snivel about it like the Tunnel Rats.
@@bigsyrup8567 You're talking about the NY Rats that got caught with the shitty mattress right?
@-kekmacska-48 yes, thats why the memes were banned, they were offending the palestinians, yes
This was a face turn I was not expecting.
The ol' switcharoo
Sounds like they didn't like what fact checkers said, so they want alternate "facts" that suit their feelings better.
Russian social media influence campaigns go brrr
A lot of the things zuck was saying are true, but I don't believe this is coming from a genuine place of good faith, but rather following where the money goes.
the whole shit is going down the gutter
no he didnt
brotha hes on the side of the money
Bruh of course he switches once its safe to do so
Bruh, He switched no-cap wen safe 2 do so bro. He no fam like the spiderman.
Ahh yes, chucking to the other side in a power struggle. Mega free speech
it would be based if zucc started carrying about the privacy of his users. instead he switch to side that will let him get with anything as long as he allows jim bob and karen to talk about how Haitians are eating cats and dogs. all for the "freedom of speech".
omg the zuck-AI almost speaks like a human now!
tech bros get so cringe when they start talking about anything political. its a very obvious symptom of not going outside or having friends.
Give me his worst take from this video and explain why its bad. Im genuinely clueless what people like you are so hysteric about.
