I like the Ron Perlman ones better but this one is good also. I like the Professor in both cause John Hurt and Ian McShane are both great actors and play the role great.
For the love of God Hollywood needs to stop with these reboots and franchises that are DOA like Alien and the Terminator and Indy Jones. The lack of creativity on Hollywood's part is frankly insulting.
Even though I love the Ron Perlman Hellboy movies I actually really enjoyed/loved this one too . I wish they made a sequel or an Amazon Prime or Netflix show that continues this Hellboy.
I love the previous Hellboy movies, but I don't think this one is that bad. As a fan of the movies and the comics, I kinda like it. I also dig that the story always dig around the myth of Fae/Faeries and elder gods.
I enjoyed this movie. It was better than I was led to believe. Found it in $5 discount bin at a local Walmart. Figured why not. It doesn't deserve the hate it gets. Yes it's not Ron in the lead, but he cannot be Hell Boy forever.
I may need to see this movie in it's entirety. Based on what I saw in these clips, it doesn't look like the disaster everyone says it is. I still wish Del Toro had made that 3rd one with Ron Pearlman, though.
Hellboy is one of my favorites comic book characters. Here's my favorite comic book character from each comic book company DC=John Constantine Marvel=Deadpool Dark Horse=Hellboy Image=Invincible IDW=Raphael (TMNT)
@@-IIIpARxIII-ok neat, IDC I'll take the top gun treatment, if any of us are a live in 35 years and we finally get the Abe Sapien accidentally a villain movie.
I love Guillermo del Toro as much as the next cinephile. bit this Hellboy is unfairly maligned. Although it has some issues, it's every bit as comic-book accurate (if not more so, really) than the original films. There's way more to love here than to dislike.
I'm not sure about that. This is definitely closer in tone to the comics, and GDT has ZERO sense of humor. I've watched this one more than the previous two out together. (so... like 4 times)
I don't think this movie is as god-awful as everyone says it is, it's just really messy, but like everyone is saying the comments, the original is far superior.
Okay I didn’t love it but I also didn’t hate it love David Harbour, Milla Jovovich, and Ian Mcshane so I gave the movie some grace lol. I enjoyed the action and the storyline they went with it’s just obviously Ron played the OG, so it’s hard to beat that plus it’s painfully obvious somebody else is playing hell boy it’s like the reboot of elm street 😬 the makeup just looked way better in the originals.
*ahem* Thankfully this version exists, the first Del Toro Hellboy was always cheesy cringe. The Golden Army on the other hand is the best in the series.
I feel that problem with this movie its that it wants to cover so much of the Hellboy's comic without achieving it. Because there are some incredible things the Gruagach, Baba Yaga, for example, the story should have been smaller.
Personally I feel like Hellboy is not a type of franchise that needed to be rated r it could always be like a hard PG-13 movie because even in the comments there wasn't a point where it felt like damn this needs to be rated r it always felt gritty it felt like a detective paranormal type series it was never like a series that needed to be like like hard or for me Hellboy felt like how I felt about 2022's the Batman where it was a hard PG-13 and it was gritty but it was never like to a point where it needs to be rated r I felt like they just wanted to be gory for the sake of being gory and I feel like they're just skimming through pages of the comic book with this movie and there's no real direction in this film so I hope that if they are trying to make another reboot try just to make it be its own thing and try its heart is not to be like this blockbuster movie Hellboy never felt like it was a blockbuster movie it felt like more of a grounded like comic book movie and that's what I liked about the original one
the Ron Perlman movies are FAR superior to this. David's makeup seemed too rubbery and false seemed to hang off his face in places/scenes, at least Ron had the face structure for it also better stories
2019 Hellboy was soooooo bad. What an absolute mess of a movie. The Guillermo del Toro directed Hellboy movies are really good though, especially the second one.
Ron Perlman played Hellboy better this reboot was ok but not as good as the first two live action Hellboy movies. I own this Hellboy reboot on blu ray.
How many times does the audience need the same expository dialogue given to them... Didn't hate this reboot, didnt love it either. It has some moments...that's about it.
I liked this move as, and understand other peoples have opinions against it. I appreciate that this movie decided to go the way of early 80's and 90's animes when it came to the anime horror level of destruction.
I like the first 2 movies as much as the next person, but I will never understand the amount of hate for this. Yes I know, del Toro and Perlman, yada yada yada, but come on. The worst reboot ever? Hell, there were several worse reboots in 2019 alone. This was fun enough for what it was.
This movie was bad not the actors the actors did really well but the story was horrible they literally didn’t even put Abraham in it till the very end and all you see is his hand
How's Mila Jovovich looking young at this age ? The answer is because she drinks a blood in this movie😅😅😅 but I think Hellboy Ron Perlman version is the better and real origin story. Maybe the Hellboy David harbour version is good in CGI and the other effect but the storyline is very awful.
This movie was okay... I mean I didn't care for the Hellboy makeup here, but it was okay otherwise (a bit gross, yes... I mean they could have avoided the whole gross kiss and the blood and the guts and the icky stuff). I still prefer the first Hellboy starring Ron Perlman.
You two obviously haven't read the bible. Because the Devil, Satan is the most beautiful creature that God ever created. This is why they call him Morning Star.
One of the worst reboots ever made! Fans and critics did not like this movie at all. They wanted Guillermo Del Toro and Ron Perlman back to the franchise, but instead David Harbour was cast in the role.
I warned y'all not to watch this one so whatever y'all see and I don't like just remember I warned you this movie has so many issues. This is a disappointment of a film

then why you didnt know that its abe sapian at the end?
so why don´t you name it "Hellboy 3"? Clickbaiting.
@@zimbo65a It's not Hellboy three it's another version of it more gritty and bloody. The original series never had a third movie.
Ron Pearlman played the original Hellboy the 2019 reboot wasn't bad I liked it but I still love the OG version
The reboot was trash.
Same, I liked this one but the og films are still my faves.
For the love of God Hollywood needs to stop with these reboots and franchises that are DOA like Alien and the Terminator and Indy Jones. The lack of creativity on Hollywood's part is frankly insulting.
David Harbour still looks like a better Hellboy than Jack Kesy in The Crooked Man movie.
I thought that I was the only person who loved this movie, it was like the comics. The action and gore like the books were!😃😄😊
Man I wish they would have made a sequel to this.
Even though I love the Ron Perlman Hellboy movies I actually really enjoyed/loved this one too . I wish they made a sequel or an Amazon Prime or Netflix show that continues this Hellboy.
That is what I am saying I freaking love this version it's more like the comics, the action and ancient monsters that they used was awesome .
I so agree with you. This is better than I was led to believe.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who loved this version, too 🙂
It would be a great series.
I enjoyed it! 👍🏾
Well done enjoying it for what it is. ❤
I love the previous Hellboy movies, but I don't think this one is that bad. As a fan of the movies and the comics, I kinda like it. I also dig that the story always dig around the myth of Fae/Faeries and elder gods.
At the end of the movie, it's the partner of Hellboy in Hellboy 2 (the old version) . This movie was way more gory.
Ron Perlman’s hellboy is still the best
This movie is underrated. Not great but underrated. David Harbour looked great as Hellboy
Icthyo Sapiens is the fish guy from the first "Hellboy"
If I had a Nickle for every time Ian McShane played in a mentor figure in a movie featuring Baba Yaga...
André Øvredal should direct a movie
He already worked with Del Toro in "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark", and did a great job
Man, you should've known it was in 2019, when he said, "Is that my Uber"
When I first saw this, I didn't care for it. But after watching it again, I've come to realize it has a charm to it. I kinda wish had gotten a sequel.
Heard that the creator of the Hellboy comics was the one who did the screenplay for the movie
But then the studio interfere
I don't understand the hate for this movie. Comparing all 3, I liked this one more than Hellboy 2, but less than the original.
A new reboot is being made
It has one of the directors of CRANK and Mike Mignola himself as the writer
Anybody else catch that Freudian Slip Steph had when she said "I wanna eat Hell....I wanna eat pizza with hellboy."
Man.. Steph sabraw is so cute😂❤
30:49 thats Abe, you know the fish man from the old and better movies
Thr older movies are great. But this one was also great in my opinion. I feel like people are just salty because ron didn't play this hellboy
I enjoyed this movie. It was better than I was led to believe.
Found it in $5 discount bin at a local Walmart. Figured why not. It doesn't deserve the hate it gets.
Yes it's not Ron in the lead, but he cannot be Hell Boy forever.
I greatly enjoyed this one.
Sure, it lacks the heart and polish of the first two.
But it still had plenty of very fun moments!
I may need to see this movie in it's entirety. Based on what I saw in these clips, it doesn't look like the disaster everyone says it is. I still wish Del Toro had made that 3rd one with Ron Pearlman, though.
20:05 did you really not recognize the implication that he was infected by a werebeast? 😜
I thought the movie was "meh", but Vampire Luchador saves it for me.

David Haurbor was not as great as Ron but he was pretty good 👍
I've never seen that shot of Abe in the tank at the end, was there a post credits? I hope we get a sequel eventually
There won't be a sequel. Last I heard, they're already talking about doing another reboot.
@@-IIIpARxIII-ok neat, IDC I'll take the top gun treatment, if any of us are a live in 35 years and we finally get the Abe Sapien accidentally a villain movie.

Neil Marshall was the right director for the wrong movie

Can't wait to see your reaction to the OG Ron Perlman version.
Also, I think you guys would REALLY like "Fat Man" with Mel Gibson and Walter Scoggins
They already posted the reactions to both original movies.
Hellboy 2004 is better
Waaaaay better...!
No its not...the Golden Army is...
100% the intro with baby hellboy was great
