The level of corruption that has to exist in a government for something like this to be so frequent is disgusting and heartbreaking

    • @pollytix7271

I don't think you mean what corruption means unless you think it's corrupt that the mainstream only singles out the gun whenever a shooting occurs with the intention of diminishing 2A and solving a problem that is worse in many of the jurisdictions they control. Why collectively punish people and their constitutional rights when there are so many ways to treat the real sources of the problem, a tolerant approach to crime and mental illness?

Schools are not the same. As a teacher this hits hard. Every month we do a lock down drill, every month we have students go to a hard corner, every month we sit in the dark and listen while the security guards jiggle our doors to see if we locked them and wait for the drill to be over just in case. After Parkland, I was traumatized as a teacher to go through these drills. After Parkland something needed to happen. Heck after Columbine!!!! But nothing is ever done!! Represent your people. When the UK had a school shooting 20 odd years ago we banned handguns outright.
At the time I was a member of a gun club in London, which almost immediately folded after this. I liked target shooting. I liked guns, having been taught to shoot at an early age.
I knew the emergency legislation that followed was more about the government being seen to take action that actual considered improvements.
I also did not quibble ONE IOTA about the new ultra restrictive laws, even though we already had the most restrictive laws in the world.
Why? Because no one's pleasure in making a stick go 'boom' and hitting a target is worth the life of a single child.

You can disarm me and that doesnt stop the "WEAPONS OF WAR" from getting to the criminal. It will just make everyone a Soft Target. If all these disarm and defund people would think rationally and analytically for like one week maybe they would get it thru their head. There is another reason for all this going on. Why does the Atlanta are usually have 2-3 armed officers in some if not most of their schools and you really dont hear about shooting in their schools. Like NY also. Take every gun beause they will kill everyone. That wont stop this it will just ramp it up.

Because it is a culture problem, our society had been sick for far too long with broken families, poor mental health support, poverty, disenfranchisement, neglect, lack of morality and life purpose, and more. As a recent graduate from high school I cannot fully express my rage of this issue in America. Every month we have drills for lockdown/shooting. Every month we are told to be quiet and sit in the dark. That all changed after my freshman year. Starting my Sophomore year in high school the drill changed. They now could happen during class changes and lunch. Not only did that change, but now we had our SRO firing blanks and using a master key to open up random classroom doors and say “You’re dead”. It is terrifying to see a drill change so much in a single year. In my middle school days we had bomb threats regularly. We had about 1 every month. We would all hear someone talking over the announcements telling us to go outside and we all knew what it was about. “Oh it’s just another bomb threat that’s all.” That’s what kids would say! Middle schoolers are saying oh it’s just another bomb threat while the teachers are instructed to keep their mouths shut and not say anything. WE ALL KNEW! I am terrified that I could live in a country where I have to sit down with my spouse and have a serious conversation on whether or not we are letting our own kids go to school. I want you to reflect honestly right now it’s not to win an argument, it’s more about how society taught you to interact…how did you treat the weird kid in school? That guy who had no friends and was smelly, hated by everyone? Did you include them? Teach them how to pick up girls or help them study? Did you ever uplift anyone during your decade of school? Was that kid capable of understanding your intent if you ever did say you’re smelly, you’re so and so? Or did they just considered another insult? If you don’t know someone’s trying to help sometimes it comes off as hate.
That’s why communication is so important, so we can say “hey man everyone says so and so, but I think with a little bit of direction and confidence you’re really going to enrich your life, I’m not perfect but I do have this to offer, try doing this instead.”
That’s all I want from school, the math and history and science is all going to be forgotten but the memories that made you feel silly, or bad will stick with you for years. The guns are irrelevant to the problem and banning them will only add to the root causes it won’t fix anything. Kids need to be primarily focused on acquiring social skills until they’re 8 years old and continue on until they’re 18 years old. It doesn’t take 10 months to learn how to learn 6 fundamentals in mathematics the school system is to blame for its inefficient state.

I agree with Russell Brand. I think it's going to take EVERYONE to do something about this. Texas has some of the most lenient gun purchasing laws which is really stupid. It shouldn't be easy for someone like this kid to get a gun. I think people should have the right to own them, but they have to prove they can handle owning one safely. In my state you need multiple letters of recommendation, background check, etc. (layers to the whole process of just buying one). I think mental health is part of it too. It's a multi faceted problem. It takes a village to raise a child. It starts at the top but we need everyone to step up, including at the local level, to do something about it. “Say the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world.” Our Lady of Fatima May 13th 1917. If we are to have peace and harmony within our country, the United States 🇺🇸. We Catholic Christians and Knights of Columbus must take the Holy Rosary devotion very seriously.

It’s not the guns, he’s using a gun from the 50’s, it’s the culture that’s changed. We encourage mental instability in children at a young age, in my opinion the best thing is to teach kids the principles and consequences of social interactions.

How about the kid who chose to murder children? Do you think if someone has intent to kill that they won't just use another tool like a car or some other potentially dangerous object?

Yea blame the gun, not the killer. He used A HANDGUN. You take away guns, theyll use knives. Would you rather evil people stab 14 children? There needs to be uniformed security in every single school. Locked doors, access control, cameras. Not gun control because this non white person used a handgun to murder 16 people. STOP BLAMING THE WEAPONS INSTEAD OF THE PEOPLE

Those guns have been around for a long time, you know what’s new and prevalent in our society? Gender dysmorphia, asocial kids with iPhones and Gucci belts, drugs and hookers in middle school. You’re not looking at the solution because you’re still unaware of the problem.

Someone who says they are right wing would not challenge our gun laws. The reason is that guns do not kill people. I can't think of one gun that has killed someone without the person behind it. This animal in Texas killed those kids, not the gun. This animal in Texas would not follow gun laws if they were stronger, for Christ's sake he murdered them, what makes you think he would follow more stringent guns laws if he wouldn't follow our laws that prohibit murder. More stringent gun laws would only take the guns out of good citizens hands and only leave them in the hands of the murderers. The only answer is to lock schools down, train the teachers to use firearms (more guns, not fewer) and get rid of politicians that keep putting these animals back out on the street....I would be shocked if this was his first run in with the law. We need stricter punishment for the offenders and more guns in the hands of good citizens.
