"I hate you, Eric!" lolz Seeing how innovative Vekoma has been these last years with things like this Stingray, the Tilt coaster Gravity Max, minetrains with switch tracks, the Big Air ride and their great madhouse rides, makes me proud to be Dutch :)
fundhund62 the best thing about this is you go in the flying position in the launch I can't wait to go there and experience it vekoma has had some good updates on their coaster tracks and designs recently
I actually don't know the reason. It was posted in one of the coaster groups on facebook. No reason was posted with it though. It was a press release from the park or something.
This would be a good indoor roller coaster to build at a Warner Bros World Park somewhere. You can theme it as the Batwing and it could be flying through Gotham City at night. That’d be really cool. Batwing Flight.
Firehawk at kings island was good it was actually great for a while it was considered there smoothest coaster ever and still is very smooth but well it closed 2 months ago because it’s a maintenance nightmare
I NEEED thsi ride in my life!! By far the coolest coaster I've ever seen!! So jealous this is your JOB!! I would LOVE to do this! Going to Six Flags Over Dallas in 2 weeks and I'm stoked!
In my opinion, very good! Personally it is my favorite ride of all time! I'm not the biggest roller coaster expert, but I know how to appreciate a good ride. Vekomas are good, but their wooden coasters are great! Lots of airtime, course turns, hills etc. It is the best ride I know!
I love the nonsense we yell and sounds we all make on coasters 🤣 I always get this compulsive fit of laughter to the point of tears when I ride a good one.
Unpopular opinion: Vekoma should have made more of these, that would give Six Flags a coaster to put when they have too compact a space for a obligatory DC-themed attraction
Every hill in the ride creates an amazing amount of airtime. everything about it is just great! The seats are more comfortable than my couch (you are litterly surrounded by leat the her!) and the ride is wild, intense and extreme fun! By far the best coaster I have ever been on. Waaay better than that one B&M I've been on. That was rather disappointing... Anyway, what is your favorite coaster?
Unfortunately, there aren't any Arrows near me. But Vekoma and Arrow Dynamics aren't very different, right? P.s: In my country there is one of the extremely rare wooden coasters of Vekoma. Love it!!!
Have you ever been on X2, or just any 4D coaster by Arrow Dynamics? They look just so great to me! Or Rock 'n' Rollercoaster? My friend has been on it (European version) and he says it's great. Sadly, I have never really been on any launch coaster, and the only one in Belgium is closed for like 6 years...
That does it. Everyone who has been on it says it's such a super-great-fantastic ride, and I should have been able to say that too. I have been there, exited about what was going to happen, but when my sister saw the launch part, she became scared. We had to go beck the entire cue line. It was so embarrassing! Fortunately, I'm going to Disneyland again this year =D Plus, the Belgian launch coaster will re-open this year so... 2013, here I come! (Huuuuuge coaster fan lol :p)
Me too! I honestly have to say that B&M Mega coasters look really cool and have a lot of airtime, but their inverted's are so smooth they actually become boring... I also prefer Vekoma SLCs, for I have a great time and a lot of fun every time I ride them. As well for the Vekoma suspended swinging coasters. Too bad I have never tried an Arrow or a TOGO, but where I live, practically everything is made by Vekoma. We've got a Schwarfskopf shuttle coaster and a Gerstlauer Eurofighter. Thats it.
GP = General Public = non-coaster enthusiast. You know what a Flying Dutchman is, what IAAPA is, and who Robb Alvey is, so it's clear you know your way around the amusement ride industry.
Seriousness?! You are tester of attraction or it is your video chaine TH-cam which makes that you earns money? You win how much to make that? P.S: saddened, I am French, I don't speak English very well:s
Well, this is the only one with this type of layout, however, there are approximately 19 others that have the same or a very similar seating position, a lot of them right here in America.
omg awesome! You're literally lying on your back! hahah Great video like alwaaays! Just feel a lil' different but still feeling good! (y) :3 ;-) (be careful nt to Spill ahaha)
Ya i know. those are Vekoma Flying Dutchman Coasters your talking about. all thought they use the same cars, technically, they are different position. and by different, i mean flipped, i think. And, if you saw Rob's IAAPA 2012 footage the CEO of Vekoma actually says the they are planning or they would like to creat more of them in the rest of the world.
That is the platform you walk on when entering/leaving the seats, when they´re upright. 2'56 shows a little how it works. The last yellow plastic thing covers the last set of wheels securing this walk-platform. A simple and effective solution, and less complex compared to using retractable platforms like B&M does on their floorless coasters. But it looks a little weird, I´ll give you that :)
+Inversion Team never had an issue with the smoothness on the 1st generation flying dutchmans. At the time they were probably the smoothest coaster Vekoma had made.
Oh yeah. Anubis. Forgot about that one because it's in a theme park for little children. They have placed it there so the older ones would be happy too. However, I don't want to spend €30 just for one ride so I often forget about it. I was talking about the legendary Schwarzkopf Shuttle coaster Turbine. Has been SBNO since 2008 because reparations were too expensive, but now Gerstlaurer has completely restored the ride and it will re-open this year.
This looks interesting, but it's line they were more focused on making a compact ride than a really good ride. The Flying Dutchman layout is far superior IMO. Hopefully they'll keep stepping up their game, this looks cool.

this comment aged well
@@trevormungeam ikr
@@tdb0218 what happened when you posted this comment? I liked it but now I don't remember what vekoma did
This aged EXTREMELY WELL!
If the Flying Dutchman and Volare would be parents, this is their child.

Yeah but I think it’s slightly better
what a good son they had
Took the good qualities of both! Except there isn’t a loop on your back.
Its great to see vekoma make smoother coasters.
._.
It’s caused they aren’t using the Arrow style track design with this coaster.
Firehawk there original flying coaster was actually really smooth
The track looks like b&m

fundhund62 the best thing about this is you go in the flying position in the launch I can't wait to go there and experience it vekoma has had some good updates on their coaster tracks and designs recently
its like a vekoma flying Dutchman and a Maurer sky loop had a love child
I need to ride that before I die.
Better hurry, the park is closing permanently soon.
jimthar17 why?
I actually don't know the reason. It was posted in one of the coaster groups on facebook. No reason was posted with it though. It was a press release from the park or something.
I might die on that 😁
They should relocate the ride that is some vekoma history there!
sooo cool.build one in the US!
Already is one :P
TheLegobatman3609 This particular model? Or you mean the original flying dutchman?
TheLegobatman3609 this is currently the only vekoma stingray, the second one is gonna be F.L.Y at phantasialand, Germany
@@batterieman3001 Fly isn't a stingray.... Stingrays only have this particular layout.
Looks like Vekoma finally got their shit together
And now, 10 years later. Wish they would’ve made more of these tho, they’re very cool looking rides for small parks
This is the new generation from vekoma!! lovely ride
This would be a good indoor roller coaster to build at a Warner Bros World Park somewhere. You can theme it as the Batwing and it could be flying through Gotham City at night. That’d be really cool. Batwing Flight.
That was awesome! And a smooth Vekoma flying dutchman too!
A good vekoma coaster :O. What is this madness?!
JustHere it’s called modern Vekoma.

it's amazing and they might build something like this in Phantasialand. Just with a launch.

Why didn't Flamingoland build this...
Charlie Woodward more expensive... its a real shame though.....
If they were to make Hero properly, they would have chosen a B&M flying coaster
Charlie Woodward Space and money plus Flamingo Land is in need of a major coaster.
Unpopular opinion: Vekoma should have made more of these, that would give Six Flags a coaster to put when they have too compact a space for a obligatory DC-themed attraction
Uhhh how is that an “unpopular” opinion…? What’re you talking about..? Freaking BANNISTER deemed this in his top 3 coasters ever, duh.
It has a roar like a B&M. Very nice looking coaster. I hope one of these comes somewhere in the UK.

Could I use this in a video I am making. I'll link you and credit you obviously.
I was wondering if one of these things ever got built..
I saw the concept art for it a while ago and always thought that it looked awesome-like.
That has to be the funniest T.P.R that I've ever seen. I was watching and thinking 'Bunch of kids'!
awesome, looks like fun! ...i love listening to you guys ride, its hilarious! "ooooohhh!"
Search "Robb Alvey" on IMDB
How smooth is this coaster for a vekoma then?
What video games did you make/help make

I guess if I have to watch theme park reviews pov I will. They're the only one with it
Looks like a better vekoma coaster of the models
Crazier than X2, Tatsu, and Goliath combined.
(These 3 rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain are very intense)
Wish this was still open! Never been on a rollercoaster out of the USA so that stinks

It looks much smoother than other vekoma flying coasters
This is probably the fastest Vekoma lift I've ever seen!

I think this is the first good pov of a Vekoma stingray.
camera??
some of the elements make it look like an extreme sfc
Why is everyone saying this is in innovative and new? I swear lay down coasters like this have been around for ages?
This is the 2nd generation Vekoma Flying Dutchman, looks a lot smoother than 1st gen ones
Plus load/unload time is a lot quicker than the first gen coaster like Night Hawk.
+Inversion Team never had an issue with the smoothness on the 1st generation flying dutchmans. At the time they were probably the smoothest coaster Vekoma had made.
OneAndOnlySound Tatsu is anything but underwhelming.
