16:11 Stuart's little "Oh." combined with Oliver's laughter layered over the clip of Joker smashing his hand on Batman's chest armor got me smiling way more than it should. 😆

This game would see a huge improvement if The Joker covered it in paint set to Prince music.

One of the better made board game playthroughs, the clips of the movie spliced in were great :)

Pretty sure Stuart was supposed to get rid of that copter card. He used it twice.

2:58 he does for one brief scene when the scientist is packing up the chemicals to ship to the public

The Joker did go back to the factory in the film. It's where he was making his Joker chemicals. Batman then blows it up.

When I was in the second grade, my neighbor got this his birthday present. We all played the game at his party. We got so bored, we went outside and ate cake, without finishing. Have not thought of this game since then. Lol

Why does Batman need the Batwing to get from Wayne Manor to the Batcave? Isn't the Batcave directly underneath Wayne Manor?

This is great. It reminds me of the board games Ashens played with Larry Bundy Jr. years ago. I wish he had advertised this on his channel.

Patterson, Keaton, Affleck, Phoenix, Leto, and Keoghan 3 Batmen and 3 Jokers so the real world has caught up to the game.

      you mean nicholson?

    • @jokerz7936
      @jokerz7936 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@SNNetwork No he was Joker 33 years ago. But Keoghan was Joker in a deleted scene for the Batman with Patterson while Phoenix's Joker has a sequel in the works and last Leto had a new scene in ZS Justice League and wants to do more. While on the flipside we have Patterson's Batman and both Keaton and Affleck in the Flash movie. Meaning at the moment we have 3 live action Batmen and 3 live action Jokers something unique to now.

Shouldn't Stuart have drawn a card after moving across with the copter, meaning that Oliver should have drawn the Batwing?

Paul Lomond Games released a game in the early 90s, which I still have to this day, called "Skull & Crossbones". A wonderful, tense, pacy game, in which you play pirate(s), who have committed mutiny and have to escape from an island of treasure and traps, before the captain and the rest of the crew land. This is all played out to a VHS cassette, an hour in length, in which the captain and a allie parrot regularly interact with your uniquely developing game(s). You have an hour to escape the island, with your matching coloured treasure, before all the coves are shut and his crew lands.
The Batman game is obviously one of their lessor, "can't be bothered" efforts...

I've still got this game. It was OK but between 1989 and 2020 it sat in my attic until my little lad asked what it was, we got it out and started playing it, he loves it!

The age rating will be mostly based on components rather than complexity. It's expensive to go through the testing you need to sell a game as child-friendly, so many of them are just marked as 12+ or 14+ where you mostly don't have to worry about kids eating the pieces.

I loved Stuarts (totally justified) hatred toward the overall cheapness of this bloody game! Eventhough there seems to be only a fraction of your viewers, Oliver - pleeeaase keep your common hobby of boardgaming with Ashens up! Its so entertaining to see the two of you interact & play. And i thoroughly liked your cuts to Jack Nicholson in this.

Oh my God, that seems even worse than when I bought a board game for my nephew when he turned 5, called Bajsspelet (I asked for advice in the toy store and the staff gave me it). It turned out that you would only go with game pieces on the playing field and every time you ended up on a brown box you would make a fart sound and every time you ended up on a yellow one you would make a peeing sound. A little too simple for a five year old who loved playing chess..

How old are you guys? When are the BBC or ITV going to fund these guys and let them make their show already? Imagine what they could do with a real budget. Oliver’s films are well made. lets let bbc know to back Ashen and Oliver on a series.

First off, saw on Twitter you've got Covid, ouch! Anyway wishing you a speedy recovery. 😊
Wow, don't think I've ever head of this game...glad I didn't, still wish I've haven't. This is basically a board game version of "You Absolutely Can't Win!" from "Jane Austen's Mafia", and that movie didn't come out until 1998, make me wonder if the makers of that movie got the idea for that fictional casino game from this sorry excuse for a movie tie-in. If I want to good game based off of the 1989 "Batman" movie, I'll stick with the Nintendo Game by Sunsoft, than you very much. LOL

Serious "Jumanji" vibes with this one... not the excellent films, but the board game that came out that is just "roll the dice... roll the dice more..." - Its awful and nowhere near as fun as could have been. Feel like I should be making my own board games at this rate. :P
Also, I might've had this game... so many rung bells. :P
