Syrians.. deserved their Peace and Freedom. But to do that.. every syrian has to close the last chapter of their country's dark history no matter the agony n utter emotional hurt all the innocent folks have been through.. and quickly move towards the Light of Hope. Its only when one embrace hope then can they all move in the same direction n avoid civil conflict now that the Assad Regime is totally gone. Rebuild, Heal and Restructure for the better tomorrow so that there is hope for their future.. Its time for all Syrians to come together and make this happen.
I wonder what that must be like for Al-Sharaa. One minute he’s wearing fatigues, now he most likely has media consultants, and he’s wearing suits. I’m not just talking about what he’s wearing, but did he even want this? It’s very different being a general, versus being head of the administration.
I watched a video about his childhood home and family. He seems to be from a wealthy family described as 'sophisticated' by his neighbors. His father was an educated person with a white collar job...an engineer or university teacher i think. There are many kids like him who left their comfy lifestyle to become fighters.
I too observe, but my perspective was more on how his face and his eyes; which were first seems light and calm (I admit he is also easy on the eyes), but the last few days he have shifted into suits and the life of a politician began, he begins to look weary and tired a bit? From his speech after the regime fell, at the mosque, he made the announcement of happiness then proceed to ask for him to be left with a few people after the prayer, whom he would like to sit down with and thank them for their courage or something like that. And people still cheered and he shrugged his shoulders like "I've tried.." and went to leave the spotlight. He seems a bit on the reserve type, stern, calm, quiet. Not the average politician type. If he's an introvert... well.. he's going to be drained fast. Don't know for sure if he is good news or bad news, but he says to judge a man by his actions so let's see. But you are right.. general vs a political leader, two different things.
@ You nailed my thoughts exactly. Granted, I know a general is half political no matter where you are. But full on political means you have to charm, negotiate, lie, and sell a bit of your soul. And that’s for the guys that are trying to do the job. Not going to even talk about the dictators. But I think if one try’s to unify all the factions with minimal bloodshed, they would have to be a super politician. And if he is indeed an introvert, I don’t think he will be up for the long run. That’s coming from someone who’s an introvert. I’m more of an engineer type. I just want to solve the problem with numbers. I don’t want to have to use psychology to do my job.
@apok1980 hahaha I guess introverts are a little more observant about these things, as I am one myself too.. anddd works more with computers too 😂 But you are right, it will take a lot, possibly a "super politician" to do what he said he wants to achieve.. but perhaps it is a good thing he is not a super politician, it will keep him focused on what his main intention was = Give Syria back to its people, with stability and peace. I watched a documentary on Frontline PBS about him yesterday, "Jihadist" something. He seems like he can carry himself well or try to be. But every day I see him in the news, yesterday or today.. he seems tired and a bit uncomfortable already when paraded through crowds. I just hope if he really is a good person to help Syria get there, he has to somehow hang in there.. I would be so tired of meeting people every dang day, what more in formal settings..
