Daniel Wu is opening people's eyes and hopefully hearts, but he is one person. We need hundreds of thousands of people to be the catalyst, the yeast in the dough to carry out the necessary lines of action in a great enterprise of transformation. The problem is much larger than the system being broken. The system is served by people, people who don't know how or where to find help to transform themselves, but also lack knowledge, understanding and skill to scale up, come together with others to transform themselves as they serve together to transform their local communities and eventually their societies. Doing things the same way as we've done before does not work. The necessary personal and social transformation are inextricably bound to each other, as we influence our society and it influences us. Who knows how to go about this monumental, earth-changing task? Who has the information to begin this process of bringing highly diverse peoples together in friendship, love, compassion, and the essential personal sacrifices that must be made?
I watched the entire interview and I have to say, the actor was on a good streak until he started talking about white supremacy and how people of colour need to get together. What about everybody getting together? Like, people of colour getting together with white people? White supremacy is not an issue in what you guys are talking about. I agree a bit, about Hollywood being predominantly white, but I never saw it as a real problem considering over the past few years more races are involved in Hollywood. And for the record, that incident about the security guards closing the door, they were black. Just saying. Calling it for what it is.
We respect and love our elders because they birth us and raise us (most of the cases), without them, we simply do not exist on this planet of earth. One basic fundamental value all human needs and must have. Even animals have this trait, so please don't forget your humanity as you go on about your day.
