A mozarella means basically nothing, there is hundreds of Mozarella in italia. A contest made in the Wisconsin by the Wisconsin and oh surprise, a Wisconsin cheese won it. @@shimzini Nope, it's just that you love cheese to pasta hard and not those to pasta soft which are often much more pronounced in terms of taste. This has nothing to do with nationality of cheese. I'm sure that you'd like "Cantal", or "Gruyère" or even the ""Comté" when it's called "jeune" which is a french soft cheese when it is still "young" in maturation for exemple (you'd not like the old "Comté", cause is strong in taste). And maybe you also could like fresh cheese type "Boursin," or some goat cheeses which are mild. To sum up, your tastes are more towards mountain cheese than prairie cheese. :)

@@bradick75 Well, actually is mostly depends on the kind of cheese (and education) you grow up with. You eat comté/morbier/mamirolle/Saint Nectaire/Abondance and other "cooked cheese" as it is. Cancoillotte is on bread, as is bleu de gex (or any molded cheese). Raclette, like Mont d'Or or Reblochon is melted on potatoes (Cancoillotte is also often on potatoes). I would say most sheep/goat cheese are eaten on bread, coz most are very soft/molded/fragile. This is how, as a French, I have been educated, and people around me too (wether in the east, west, or center. Dunno about far south/north or parisians :) )

I'm from India and I love these types of cheeses. Unfortunately these cost a bomb here in Mumbai since availability is a big issue. They are super rare. I envy you French people. I can relocate to France for Camembert or Italy for it's Gorgonzola cheese.
When teleportation is invented we can swap countries for a week; i want to taste indian cuisine but when you dont live in a big city like paris its hard to find an authentic restaurant from an expat chef

Sorry but you do know most French eat their cheese with bread right ? Him asking for a cracker is not unreasonable especially considering he ate multiple different cheeses, some strong ass ones and all that with nothing but water to sooth out the taste of a palate that is not used to this kind of "raw" cheese. I love my local cheeses with and without bread and him asking for a cracker did not offend or shocked me, as a French person. To say he has no class is childish.

Big Macs are so good though. Why does that guy deserve to be slapped over wanting something that he likes after eating something that he didn't like. And just to throw in my personal opinion I have tried some of those same cheeses before and the smell and taste is just completely repulsive to me.

I just wished you had them try these cheeses on a super fresh and crispy tradition baguette (or slightly toasted), with a thin layer of French butter, and a glass of red wine. With that combination, even our black friend would have enjoyed each and every type of cheese. And I agree with other people: rackette is best served melted...
I just got back from my local market (in USA), and I found only ONE cheese from France. The locals call this place a supermarket, yet it is filled with things to buy that don’t even pass as food. I plan to venture out to find more French cheese because this is the best cheese I’ve ever had!

Scent and taste relate to eachother. So normally for me when something smells like asshole or sweaty piss or rotten, i dont want to ingest it because it usually tastes the same. As with most cheese. Raclette is so much better when melten on some potatoes. Same goes for Reblochon, which is the best in a good old tartiflette.
And way better in Valais in Switzerland, the birthplace of the raclette ;))🇨🇭

The uglier and stinkier a cheese looks and smells, the better it is.
Scent and taste relate to eachother. So normally for me when something smells like asshole or sweaty piss or rotten, i dont want to ingest it because it usually tastes the same. As with most cheese. The processed stuff that everyone makes fun of, actually doesnt taste like bugs, so that's why most of us americans like it.

I’m with suitman, that’s too much cheese in one sitting for me. I visited France in 2018 and tried a bunch that were obviously the best cheeses I’ve ever had, but so many that I tried smelled like absolute death I can’t lie

lol j'adore le "donc je dois manger ça?" la fourme d'ambert ou le roquefort sont des fromages qui ne plaisent pas à beaucoup de français, moi meme qui suis un grand fan de fromage(1.200kg par semaine) je n'en mange pas, juste cette aspect de fromage en décomposition non sérieux c'est pas pour moi, mais sachez que dans le sud de la france ou en corse certaines personnes mangent un fromage avec des asticots, le "CASU MARZU" Âmes sensibles s’abstenir !
