    Great video. I love fly fishing. Do you think you could do a closer video of that fly?

    If you're out of New Hampshire, we might meet up some day.
    I'm out by the sea coast and fish the entire lower half of the state to the Vermont and Massachusetts borders.

      @@BendItFishing I've fished almost every water body south of Concord.
      I've been up on Newfound Lake once for ice fishing.
      Looking forward to trying your pattern once we thaw out.

    Excellent tutorial thanks much. Question: Is the rabbit fur acting "somewhat" as a weed guard? Would think you'd get hung up constantly fishing close to, and actually in, the brush piles.

      It probably is a little bit.

    Awesome video. Im looking at some really cheap crappie rods as potentially budget micro spey option for learning to spey cast with lighter skagit heads. What do you think? I feel like it would be a good lesson in rod building if I could replace the guides with snake guides and add a spey rear grip.

    • @BendItFishing

      Sounds really complicated for crappie, I would just use a poly leader. Maybe if you are fishing from shore

      @@BendItFishing Sorry I shouldnt have posted this on your crappie video, Id use it mostly for trout. The only thing actually related to crappie is the long jigging rod id get the blank from.

    • @BendItFishing
      @BendItFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So crappie blanks and fly fishing rod blanks are built differently. It might work but usually the ferrules are more precise and the wobble of the rod is reduced because of the way it's made

    • @BendItFishing
      @BendItFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thin sheet of fake leather, I think I got it at a craft store but Cabela's might have it

    Many tying scissors have a notch behind the blades proper. That is the best way to cut light wire: including lead, without ruining your scissors.

    This is so dope! I’m going to try fly fishing for crappie here in Texas. Do you have anything else on your like other than the fly?

    • @BendItFishing
      @BendItFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope just a fly, if they are really deep ill put some split shit a few feet ahead of the fly

    Good job, enjoyed the show very much as did my grandsons. But, if you ever come to the Midwest, please don’t pronounce it crappy! Down here it is pronounced Crawppie. Thanks Y’all.

    You can get a jig in tight on those logs pretty easily, just use a slender slip float and a plastic like the garland straight tails, the slender slip float is great for those up bites as she will just tilt sideways, not as fun as the fly rod, but can be way more effective if they are picky and hanging extra tight against structure, when there's ripple on the water I don't even work the jig, blthe float will keep that plastic just shaking on their face, if flat calm I always give it a little action on slack line just to move the float up and down in the same place and pause for 10 or 20 seconds
