    Just want to let you know that I REALLY enjoy your channel. You are incredibly talented in so many ways.... from your obvious mechanical and body skills to your videography and the clear, concise manner in which you explain your methods. I watch many TH-cam mechanics but your videos are by far the best. Keep up the EXCELLENT work! Really digging the CRX videos.

    I like what you're doing so far. Glad to see another EF get some more life. I wouldn't bother too much with that stock hood, as it's going to need a hole in it for the k24 to fit. Even with the k20 I'm putting into mine, I have to get an SiR hood for it. I have heard rumor that the k24 can fit under the SiR hood, with the Hasport mounts, and hood risers, but the engine will sit really low, and you run risk of hitting the oil pan with road debris. Since you're used to doing body work, you might be able to do some sort of cowl on the stock hood, but it's not going to look stock either way.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching. K series in a crx 💪💪. The only reason im bothering with the hood is because in the mean time while the car has the original engine Itll eat at me to see it misaligned or something like that. Ive already accepted that the k24 will be coming through the hood lol. Im not going to lower the engine so much just to try to clear the hood and then be scared to go over any bump without denting my oil pan😂. I want to drive the car like a normal car so that means i need ground clearance.... Chop chop to the hood it is lol. Ive never been a fan of cowls on hoods, id rather just have the engine sticking through lol. Plenty more videos to come!

  • @gforcekaras

    Sure you didnt install the hood struts upside down? makes sense since the thinner rod portion would clear the bolt heads.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Before installing them i referred to the website of the creators and this is how they show them installed...also the thin rod isnt exposed when the hood is closed. Either way it would hit that bolt is what im assuming.

      @@themechanic6117 Ah you're right, stupid me forgot that they compress into itself. Great work so far! I eagerly await every new upload on this car. I had a '90 SI that had the cleanest interior ever. Tracking down small parts was a nightmare but it was very fun to work on. The late 80s and early 90s Hondas were the best stuff. I also had a 88 SI with no AC but wifey and I didn't care cuz it was so much fun to drive around with the windows/sunroof open. Had to get rid of both since I forgot how my lazy butt hated manual steering lol.
