RULES AND COMMENTS:
1. Only deals where Mark was the solo investor on air were included (no co-deal with other sharks).
2. C tier = zero or near zero dollar loss or gain.
3. All Numbers are best etimates based on public data, web traffic, average order value, industry standards, sales data through various channels (ie. amazon, walmart, etc). In no way am I guaranteeing exact figures, but I do believe the ones presented to be fairly close.
4. After finishing the video, I realized I have a ton of data and resource I could publish for your further reading. However, It's a complete mess because i never thought anyone else would read them. Going forward, I'll make the data presentable and publish it with each video in this series.

He gained fame through his tech ventures during the dot-com era (broadcast.com) known for his outspokenness on business matters. He's also a prominent figure on the TV show "Shark Tank" and is recognized for his philanthropy and advocacy work.

I think it would be nicer if you made a seperate tier for deals that didn't close. For example, didn't close but doing well or didn't close and out of business etc. Feel like it's wrong to put cool wraps in the same tier as rapid ramen cooker. Nice video though.
Thanks for the comment! I’m glad you liked the video. The reason I have it that way is the ranking is based on how much money they’ve earned for mark (or whatever shark the video is on). So for any deal that doesn’t close, the result is pretty much the same for mark - zero.
I have thought about this though and if a lot of people feel the same I’ll find a way to address this in the next video.
Maybe do an alternate at the end? Also, are you from northern Michigan? I saw your Arcadia Bluffs poster and I live up in Manistee county and take senior students to dine there every year LOL. Very cool!

I don't think if he was saying he lost money, I think he was saying that he has been beat by other sharks. "I've been beat" sounds like he has been outperformed by other sharks.
He definitely misunderstood the interviewer's question.
This video is proof he has not lost money. But perhaps other sharks have " beat" him on his return.
He means beat that on a purely cash basis he's put in more cash than he's got back. But in terms of the market value of the equity he owns in the companies still running from shark tank he's definitely up.

I don’t watch shark tank but I caught your last video and it’s really interesting to see what has succeeded to kind of gauge what products have grown in the past decade or two and what models have worked. You’re also doing a great job crafting these videos, very high quality. I’ll catch the next one too.

1. The fact that a company sold $55 million (or promises to sell $20 million) doesn't mean they had a profit
2. Mark is probably factoring in due diligence costs (on deals that might or might not have fallen through)
3. Cows produce a lot of methane and insect-based protein is a viable idea
4. Oh, and the valuation of unlisted companies means nothing - until you sell for that price (then yes, you made money)

To be fair when he said he got beat he usually follows up by mentioning loosing 500 grand from breathometer. It does sound like he is second to Lori in investments.

Before finishing the main 6 sharks you should go over the guest sharks such as Richard Branson. If there's not enough content to give each guest sharks their own vid you can make it into a TH-cam short or mini series

Sure, the video gets a bit choppy between 12:29 and 12:41. Another part would be between 7:06 and 7:12

Co-deals should be included because you don’t get a proper picture of his win/losses. Mark lost way more than anyone else with Breathometer which is such a well known flop. Not including it is misleading because this shows Mark isn’t infallible unlike the video.
I do love the content this channel is putting out though and it would be fun to have your data released publicly.

yo loved this, and the other shark tank vid. One suggestion would be to not stare directly at the camera when you're giving us info, i get the personal feel from the eye contact, but it is pretty jarring going from a video clip or the tier list to staring into your soul. I would say you could go from that side angle then turn and talk to the camera smoothly.

Remember mark has to spend his own time and money to help these companies turn a profit. So he may lose in those regards.
In the amount of time he helped "shark tank company X" earn 8M per year, he could have put it towards another 8-9 figure business (like his cost plus drugs project)
Great point. Marks time is valuable. It also seems like the sharks usually have a person or team of people dedicated to shark tank investments which means they’re spending a bit extra on each company they purchase… hard for me quantify that.
At the same time, I do believe mark loves helping entrepreneurs so he’s getting something out of that as well even if he loses money.
11% ABV is totally normal for wine.
In retrospect, that’s the correct take. I think the fact that I’ve personally consumed it more like a beer is more of the issue 😂.

Wouldn't surprise me if sometimes they take deals just to be jerks and edge the other sharks out, then just back out right after never intending to take the deal. Inserts Darth Vader joke, I have altered the deal, pray I don't alter it further.
