    Thanks to this amazing community for letting me explore their incredible urban farming project, and to my guide and driver Mr Cokey for taking me there. He works with 'Raja Tour Bandung' and you can easily find their contact details and tour packages with a Google search.

      @@simeonaruan6308 this has nothing to do with goverment, said by coky guy in the video that this is an independent project likely pioneered by that one guy taking them on tour, then his idea is accepted in his community thus some house volunteered. No way government bother to initiate something like like this, oh maybe they would. When it could get them some votes in 2024!

      Other cities in Indonesia are learning to not fall into Jakarta's model of development though.. such gentrification & poor urban planning did exist in Jakarta because of mismanagement during Sukarno & Suharto dictatorship times.

    I used to dislike botany class in high school but this is so refreshing compared to the generic "you must see this", you won't believe this" 3$ haircut" "honest shoe cleaner gets a reward" travel videos that flood TH-cam. Dale never does any of that!

      There are several communities throughout Bandung, ever heard "Komunitas 1000 Kebun?". Here we got a nice weather for farming, so it is easier to do urban farming.

    I hope other places can copy this amazing concept, as you know (or not) people in some place, really likes to throw garbage into the river, and when heavy rain pouring the area, it flooded the area. With this, not only people will not throw anything into the river, it gives much advantages for the community.

    Gardening is a therapy. I have a small rooftop garden , mainly growing flowers and few veggies sometimes. We make 'shukto' out of bitter melon along with other vegetables.

      Dale, I’m finally free and i have a very tiny trailer house/rv type thingie! So, after I take care of my wonderful in-laws, (my father in law is a Vietnam Veteran who has cancer from Agent Orange), I’ll be off on my own adventure…if i can afford it lol

    The Indo government need to fund this. The urban rivers are usually disgusting due to rubbish dumping but looks so much better now with those overhanging gardens! Hope they do this in Jakarta as well. Would be an amazing thing for the communities

    Okay but how amazing Mr Cokey being trilingual; Bahasa Indonesia, Sundanese, and English anddd guess what, Indonesia ranks as the top trilingual country in the world. The combination would be Bahasa Indonesia as national language, their ethnic group language (Javanese/Sundanese/Balinese/etc.), and English.

    We have community gardens for people who live in apartments so they may have a chance to plant and grow their own food for their own use. I only wish it was done to share with more people.
