    I have been binge watching your vlogs in the Philippines since the past week. I live a few steps away from where you were standing at 9:01 in the vid. 😄 On the side you would have saw Leona's Bakeshop which sells very delicious cales and pastries and on the other side of the road is Alberto's pizza where average locals parade over when craving for pizza. Give them a go if ever you are in the area again to better indulge in the local life. Cheers guys! Safe travels!

    There are no separate price for goods or services in Cebu for locals and foreigners. Scooter rental rates are standard regardless if you're a local or foreigner.

    • @project_where
      @project_where  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see. How much roughly for a month?

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@project_where The rental rate is daily, not monthly. You can ask for any discount for sure if you rent the scooter for one month. Daily rental could range as low as P300 to P400 depending on the model or brand or rental shop. For Cebu rental rate, daily means 24 hours. In other places or provinces, their rental scheme is usually called 'daily' but actually you only have 8 hours to use. Any longer than that would mean additional amount.

    But Landers Superstore has stores in Metro Manila as well. You could use your card to shop in any Landers store in either Manila or Cebu. Landers Superstores is Cebu homegrown membership store whose parent company also owns the country's largest socialized housing property developer, DECA Homes. They also own Kuya J chain of stores and Cebu Grand Convention Center, Isla Sugbo Seafood Buffet, Majestic Restaurant, among others.

    The reason why the usual or traditional jeepneys that is common in Manila and other areas in the Philippines are almost absent in Cebu is because Cebu has already started its modernization program for its public transport, albeit in a minor way. The traditional jeepneys are going to be completely phased out in 2-3 years time. That's why you can see modern mini buses now plying the streets of Cebu. They're all airconditioned and more convenient for passengers. Soon, fare will be totally cashless as soon as all traditional jeepneys are phased out. There are also inter-city routes both for minibus and regular buses.

San Miguel has the biggest factory with a huge San Mig Beer bottle of top of the factory not sure if it's still there and Mactan Bridge was the only bridge. I learned a lot while living in Cebu. Especially Freediving and Clam Harvesting. Take Care and ENJOY CEBU. By they way they're very religious check out Santo Nino Cathedral.

    Don't get too caught up on tourists spots in Cebu City, the best part are the provincial side & highlands. There you'll find the best people.
    Excited about the canyoneering videos tho, it's just a fun experience. Cebu has a lot of picturesque waterfalls. For beaches check out Lambug Beach / Tingko Beach / Bantayan Island.
    Edit : 800 AUD is $532 USD. That's a good monthly rent for US standard. You can definitely find better places in Cebu if you look. But if it's good enough for you, that's a decent price.

  • @GuardianTiger
    @GuardianTiger 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh I think the "no vlogging with go pro" is because of the stick and any type of selfie sticks or any stick with camera/phone is not allowed at least in outside. When selfie sticks used to be huge back in the day, it inadvertently killed many many people and injured many. I saw a video about it so I'm probably not explaining it properly.

    You might want to try the country's largest zoological and botanical park, the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park, which is located about 40 kilometers up north, specifically in the town of Carmen. There, you can find exotic animals from all over the world roaming around large open spaces in lush tropical jungle including Africa's safari denizens such as gazelles, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, kudus, oryx, zebras, hyenas, etc. You can even walk among South America's llamas, rheas, capybaras and take photos with them at close range. You may also go safari with white lions who feel at home in their adopted tropical environment. The safari is very huge but there are trams which runs constantly throughout the 160 hectares of lush tropical park. The park also includes a resort that sits atop a high plateau overlooking the park itself with two types of accommodations: log cabins and glamping. Its infinity pool offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains and beyond. They also have adventure rides such as ATVs, giant swing, sky bike, country's highest zip line (more than 900 meters ASL) at 1.5 kilometers long, and cave exploration guided tour. The cave is regarded as among the biggest in Cebu. The park also has orchid garden and the owner's own collection of exotic plants set in their own area called Garden of the World. The park has 4 dining spots scattered all over.

    • @project_where
      @project_where  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the detailed recommendation! We didn’t know there a Safari Park prior to seeing this.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@project_where The safari park is relatively new, just opened to the public in 2018. It's huge and the layout is very similar to San Diego Zoo in California or Taipei Zoo in Taiwan as the animals are allowed to roam around in open big spaces as if they're in their natural habitat. The white tigers and the Bengal tigers, for example, have more than 1 hectare of space all to their own so they have enough space to play around. The white lions I think has over 10 hectares of den. The African Safari where ungulates can be seen thru a safari tour has over 10 hectares of grazing area as well. The giraffes also very large area they call their own. You will love it there because the place is very green and lush with tall trees and vegetation in their natural habitat.

    That’s horrendously expensive for an apartment! Yikes!

      You should check out what you get for that price in HongKong / New York / LA.
      $500 a month for a room that big is definitely not horrendous in comparison. But I'm sure Cebu has better apartments.

      That’s the best we could find for a month for sth similar like this unfortunately. We looked everywhere on airbnb and bookings.com!

      Have u guys tried agoda? It seems cheap but check until the final booking stage since the site does't include taxes & fees.
