    Thanks for showing me how to do an under mount. I’m making one for myself.

    Great idea for underside mounting. Much more real feel.

    get the thrustmaster pendular rudder pedals, they are pricey but worth it theyare well made, they function and feel like the real thing

      Very cool! I haven’t yet gotten the rudder pedals, but looking forward to it.

    Oh my word, you fly for Walker Air VA? I do as well. I just happened to see the paint job on the plane.

      Yes, I used to fly with that VA. Now I’ve been focusing my energy on using the Sim for Instrument flight training and proficiency.

    I'm going to mount mine under the desk on slide rails so I can slide it out of the way when not in use. Both throttel and yoke

      Sounds like a great solution

    Nice video. Can you do another video using a Boeing or Airbus airplane? Seems to me every review I see is with a Cessna or other general aviation airframe.

    The strap looks like a perfect fit. Can you provide specifics (size or item description)?

    It is TREMENDOUSLY tough to find one of these!

    hello,
    did you manage to make the propeller feather working? I tried several things with no success

    • @sogpilot3137
      @sogpilot3137  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. The prop levers have always worked for me. Feathering would be full aft on the lever. Are you flying X-Plane? Do you have the prop levers properly assigned in the software? I would need to know more about what you are experiencing.

    • @cbtpilot5755
      @cbtpilot5755 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sogpilot3137 hey, thanks for the reply. I'm indeed using Xplane.
      The prop levers work properly, but when move them aft (the detent) nothing happen. This detend is actually behaveing like a button to which I mapped several things related to prop feathering but with no success. If this works for you, do you mind checking to what the detent is mapped to (either in Xplane or honecomb configurator tool)?

      Hello. Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you on this, but my Sim isn’t working. I’m getting less than 1 FPS resulting in impossible stuttering, so unable to go in and look at settings.

    What size was the bar used to mount the throttle quadrant under the desk

    • @sogpilot3137
      @sogpilot3137  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry so long and getting back to you on this question, but I just came across it as I was reviewing comments. The flat bar that goes across the top of the control wheel is made by Simpson ties. You can pick one up at any Home Depot or Lowe’s, etc. Without actually going under and measuring it I believe it is 3 inches wide. If you need me to, I’ll get a more specific measurement.

    Seems to do just about everything for all kinds of aircraft EXCEPT a Cessna that I primarily fly.
    Useless for my purposes!

    • @sogpilot3137
      @sogpilot3137  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why not the Cessna? What model?

    • @airste172
      @airste172 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sogpilot3137 For those who care about authenticity (and presumably this is what Honeycomb is trying to achieve}, there are only levers in this quadrant and most models of Cessna have push-pull/twist knobs. Just look down at the throttles of a Cessna in a sim and tell me how they resemble the mechanism of Honeycomb. Clearly Cessna is fully omitted in the Honeycomb.

    • @sogpilot3137
      @sogpilot3137  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. I flew for the Civil Air Patrol in a Cessna 172. True the controls are different. I’ve also flown them on the simulator using levers. Sometimes in the simulator world you have to make accommodations. There are, however, flight controls that precisely simulate the Cessna 172. The FAA approved simulator at my airport has Cessna flight controls associated with it.

      @@airste172 get yourself a velocity one yoke this one is for cessna

    • @airste172
      @airste172 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Voltomess I thought that would be the answer too, but upon trying out a Velocity One that a friend purchased, I was very disappointed. The Cessna style throttle quadrant is unnecessarily miniaturized and feels more like a toy than a throttle. Additionally the quadrant doesn't have a friction lock or a twist function in the mixture control so there is just too much pretending that has to be done. The yoke itself also has some odd shortcomings like center detent points in the elevator and aileron axis which no airplane has and the elevator throw or travel distance is far too short to be realistic or allow for accurate control. Oddly enough they brag about the 180 degrees of yoke rotation as if that was big deal when in reality the only time you turn a yoke that far in actual flight operations is for taxiing in a strong crosswind.
      Using my trusty old CH Products yoke, I can just as easily pretend around its shortcomings without having to pay a premium price.
