They got a new Regal out Willie. They got a new Regal out. Get the camera out and get hustlin to find it Willie. They got a new regal out! Get the 1000 version and see if you can get 10# of 150yd on it. The new diawa 3000 are really big and have deep spools like you know.
I saw that at bass pro a couple weeks ago.. I’ll have to give it a closer look next time I’m that way. If I remember correctly, the only reason I bought the Regal was because I had found the old one at a flea market and decide to compare the two.. Honestly, I’m not sure if I’ve even used it again since. lol They’re very nice reels though. I personally like the Pflueger President XT, The Regal, and the Daiwa Revros.. good reels..

I've been really looking forward to this one, glad I finally have time to sit down to watch it! Really eager to see how the two compare. From what I can find the XIA released in late 2010/early 2011. It came with 2x spools. Pretty neat! My Regals definitely came with a parts break down, that's weird. What a great way to try out the new Regal. I also noticed the line occasionally wanting to wind itself around the lower flange of the spool on my 3000, this was with fluorocarbon, mono or braid. I've not ever noticed it on my 2500 or 1000 series. Awesome comparison!
Thanks man!! It was fun using them together. I found no issues at all with the XIA, other than it’s not “as” smooth as the new one but totally understandable considering the age difference. The only issue with the new one was the line/spool thing but I can live with it. I have another idea coming up but it’s gonna take planning, timing, and and a lot of finger crossing. I’ll have to share it with you and see what you think. 😉

I heared that the new regal has this issue that the line can really stuck in the structure down ...but what is the solution for that ? ...is the exceler has the same issue ? 😔
Hey there, I believe it’s just a flaw in the design. For me, I just had to pull the line tight after each cast to keep it from getting caught. Might be able to put a thin strip of tape around that sharp edge of the spool to keep that from happening but that’s just an idea. I’m not sure about the other reel, that’s outside my affordability 😂. Thanks for watching! Willie
