REPEAT: EXPOSING The TRUTH About TURF INTERACTION and BOUNCE | Kicking MYTHS To Touch !!

- My last TH-cam post got a lot of golfers giving their ideas and point of view around Turf Interaction and Bounce, and there are some opposing views and thoughts on the subject that need addressing and explaining. Golf Club manufacturers would have you believe that Golf Clubs can fly if bought in large enough quantities so its time to get real and tell you exactly what Turf Interaction and Bounce really do.

Hey jay. Would you please do a video on wedges? It’d be great to have an explanation on different bounces and grinds and what kind of player will benefit from each. I.e. lower attack angle, neutral shaft lean, neutral turf, etc.
Turns out playing blades does not mean you will dig into the turf more! I think that's an eye opener for me and a lot of other people. Super cool to know.
It's one of many myths that manufacturers and fitters have told and continue to tell as it aids in the 'selling' of equipment 😕👍🏻
I have only 4 degree of bounce on my 60 degree summer wedge, i find it helps on firm ground. In the winter i use a 12 degree version, helps with damp ground. My physics might be way out, but it works for me.
Nope your physics are pretty spot on 👍🏻
Love the info! Keep them long and informative 😊
Has to be the first comment on a while that wants the as long as possible.... Definitely something to listen to in the background whilst doing something more important 🤣🤣
Hi Jay, well i managed to miss this again last night (must be my age), but caught up today. Everything made sense in terms of delofting and effectively removing the bounce. My question, if you deliver the club with a shallow AoA, would those players benefit more from the bounce on the club or still no and it's just all marketing hype? i'm looking forward to being able to see my shadow soon too! In terms of the Mizuno gear, the running bird logo is great but i really dislike the ones with mizuno golf in words on them, just stick to the logo. The Blue Cali is head and shoulders the best. You have to wear everything that the viewers liked, seems only fair.
Wowzers. What a lot of useful info. You should cut it up in shorter video’s. Learned a lot. ⛳️👍
What bits did you find the most useful? 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut Hitting behind the ball. Thank you John! Will be coming back for this part after I do it again, and again. 😂And the part about the bounce, bounce in relation to the dynamic loft. Still halfway the video.
The stream descends in to a bit of fun by the end but it's always nice to have a little bit of humour 😊👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut No problem. The video gave me new insights into, why to or not to buy new clubs. Keep up the good work you do.
@AskGolfNut the most useful part of the video was where you said (around 50 minutes mark) that if you're hitting behind the ball then it's not bounce you need, it's a change in your motion. I think this is where people come unstuck because the marketing suggests that if you buy a hybrid type iron then you'll miraculously start hitting it like a tour Pro.
Would love a video on uneven lies, especially downhill. I know the general setup and club choice changes to make and the tendency of the ball flights, but downhill lies still catch me out on the course sometimes.
You are welcome Jay!! Thank you for your detailed videos and for answering my questions in depth!
Joe
I just hate the outdated terminology of picker vs sweeper. It’s simply not descriptive enough to have an understanding and I’m glad you gave an explanation to the person who asked. And you did it so nicely. I would be apoplectic 😂
Looking forward to the abbreviated version. 2.5hrs! 😳
It's a live stream so not like a normal video. In a live stream i also answer viewers questions etc so will be a lot longer duration than normal content 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut I know Jay but I (maybe others?) am interested in the turf interaction bit (10 mins?). The youth of today eh, no patience (I’m 66).
Thanks
Thanks very much for the kind donation, it always means a lot when viewers support the channel 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Is grind more important than bounce on a wedge ?
On a wedge they are both as inoperable as each other, if it was for an iron, then they would both be as near on pointless as the other. It's all about how the handle and club head are delivered relative to the other 👍🏻
