One of the craziest things I’ve learned in the past few years is that Christianity didn’t just “catch on.” It was the sixth time it was tried, in different cultures and times, with the same exact story - born in a manger, 3 kings, brilliant star, December 25th, virgin birth - all the details, the same! Crazy! Also, if you haven’t run across it, Vincent Price made a record called Vincent Price Witchcraft & Magic: an Adventure in Demonology, which has a bit to say about Hitler and many other things. I bought it as a teenager in the 1960s.
PURE JOY: hearing one of your cherished actors ruminating & postulating (along with another scintillating intellect) about ANYTHING…and everything, but no, suddenly life gets even better: Cryptids, Dimensionals, the “paranormal” that is actually normal and all around us (and within us ? ) THIS is almost too much greatness in one channel. My mind and soul has not been this well cared for, fed, delighted and respected since ‘Lodge 49’.
@@elizabeth9134 No I’m referring to the TV series Lodge 49 Produced by Paul. This transcendent series ruined so many other subsequent TV series for me….it sets the bar too damn high. This scene linked below is very symbolic as to the arc of Lodge 49: one is deeply moved every episode, then we get rabbit punched in the face upon the cancellation of the series. I had a feeling it just might be great before I even watched it, because it was canceled early, like everything I love. (I call it the Firefly Effect) Falcon crest gets 357 episodes, Lodge 49 gets two seasons. That’s this planet in a nutshell. th-cam.com/video/YpiB9y55sO8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_vDxssm4V3hDiwF6 The series is made by Touchy Feely films, who also bring us Chinwag!
Hi, fellow Nutmegger here! Been listening to the podcast all day :D 'The Passion of the Western Mind' by Richard Tarnas will answer the question asked, Why did Christianity take over? I read the book for a college philosophy class. It's like a history of how ideas caught on and spread including (and why other ideas did not spread) religion, political ideas, prose, etc. Also, meant to comment on the Cryptozoology talk- Main Street Museum in White River Junction, VT is a small collection of New England oddities. They sell a book of Vermont monsters. I'll have to check if it includes the Mystical Maine Moose!

Just discovered your podcast! Amazing!
Loved the rumpology discussion at the end! It was laugh out loud funny. And Sly Stallone’a mother a practitioner? You can’t make this stuff up!
I think Paul would like Mormon Stories podcast. Pretty fascinating interviews with ex-Mormons.
Also "Cults to Consciousness"
@@baarbacoa I like that one too!
Outstanding episode! Wag On.
