Thanks for this, Prof. Asma. I have no doubt that AI, or whatever it soon becomes known as, will integrate with life on Earth. I honestly stay away from it because it will soon replace human critical thinking, and probably emotional thinking, too. The excellent movie "She" showed how this might happen. Humans are in for quite an evolution-bending ride. Oh well. Wag on!

Paul & Stephen, the so called “drones” or U.F.O’s are extremely active now up and down the coasts of the U.S. now. Especially the east coast centering on New Jersey. Some are reported to be the size of a bus, some the size of a compact car, some are noisy, some are silent. Some travel in groups of large numbers. I haven’t seen any of them myself yet.

This would be so much better if this wasn't just audio!

AI sucks, btw - corporations are pushing hard on it to reduce labor/increase layoffs, but it's pretty much a mess wherever it's implemented.

Great thoughts on Descartes and the Simulation Theory toward the end of this! I now need to read Descartes, who I know about but haven't much considered. My view is that we are in a simulation of some kind. The weirdness of quantum physics so at odds with Newtonian physics leading us to create mindbendingly powerful AIs with quantum-generated engineering that will likely soon "take over," whether we want them to or not, is proof enough for me. It's likely the multiverse, whatever it becomes to our level of knowledge, is one of our future AIs dreaming.

Is there a list somewhere of the movies discussed in this podcast? I would love to watch them. I guess I can just go to the transcript and try to create a list myself if no one else has already done that.
