So I've listened to this many times since I discovered it only a few days ago (or maybe a little over a week), and one thing I really noticed is that I feel like this song matches the vibes of the movie "Into The Wild". If you haven't seen the movie I highly recommend it!
Lyrics Look for me another day. I feel that I could change, I feel that I could change. There's a sudden joy that's like A fish, a moving light; I thought I saw it Rowing on the lakes of Canada Oh laughing man, what have you won? Don't tell me what cannot be done. My little mouth, my winter lungs, Don't tell me what can't be done. Walking in the circle of a flashlight Someone starts to sing, to join in. Talk of loneliness in quiet voices. I am shy but you can reach me. Rowing on the lakes of Canada, Rowing on the lakes of Canada. Oh laughing man, what have you won? Don't tell me what cannot be done. My little mouth, my winter lungs, Don't tell me what can't be done. Look for me another time Give me another day I feel that I could change Rowing on the lakes of Canada
I think Calvin College given the clapping at the end, don't think the Take Away show one had that! Plus the Take Away one sounds windier and banjo is louder.
I can't believe anyone else remembers his take away show performance from so long ago. It was truly beautiful. Agreed on the take away show having more wind interference with audio. I wish this was on Spotify but oh well.
This is fabulous but the Innocence Mission is where it's really at. Magnificent song, pure poetry x
I really love the original as well.
The best one is still that windy rooftop version!

Let us also row the streets of Canada, like the McKenzie Bros, from the old SCTV.
Martin Short's Ed Grimley is my personal fave.
I wonder if he's ever recorded this for some type of "b-sides" release?
This song makes me home sick.
Was this from the takeaway show or the calvin college recording?
I 'believe' so, but do not have 100% certainty.
I think Calvin College given the clapping at the end, don't think the Take Away show one had that! Plus the Take Away one sounds windier and banjo is louder.
Can't say whether it's from Calvin, but it's definitely not from the Takeaway show.
def from the calvin college the accustics sound the same plus I know its not takeaway just because that's to windy

Nice video. Where in Canada is this?
It's not. I'm not actually sure where this was filmed. It's from Kelly Lacy at www.makebeautiful.co
Go to a lake in Canada and you're there, row a boat, sing the song, be the peace...
