RE20 is the best mic ever. Spend the extra $50 over the SM7B. It is worth it.

Brodie, this might be my favorite among all of your mic/interface setups. You sound incredible here--dare I say even better than your Apollo/U87ai. Thanks for the great content!

I am running with this combo. It is amazing ! Thanks for all of the RE-20 advise. I also use an SM-7B and prefer the RE-20.

So glad you made this video, which I am using as a starting point for my RE320 with the Rodecaster Duo (yes, I know the RE320 is a "brighter" mic). This A's fan with a podcast out of West Berkeley really appreciates this channel and all the helpful information you've shared here. I know you've been busy covering the A's Vegas fiasco and other regional sports, but I know I'm not alone in looking forward to more of your work on this channel.
And for what it's worth, I prefer your sound with the RE20 over the U87ai.

Good walkthrough. I had toyed with saving up for one of these, but decided to go with a DBX 286s because as a solo broadcaster, this unit seems like overkill. I found your video on the DBX 286s very helpful as well.

some folks just like the dbx because it's 100 percent analog... no software... no buttons... just dials to "feel" the sound. I get it.

Are you going to do one with the TLM 103? That's the one i'm interested in.

THANK YOU for doing this video. I initially used Mike Russell's RCP2 and RE20 setup, but after watching yours and my personal frustration with background noise issues, what you were able to show at min marker 6:35, was amazing! FINALLY,! I figured out that all I had to do was to reduce the dB range to 25 on Noise Gate section and I was done. So now I'm using a combo of Mike and your settings. PERFECT! Since I reduced the dB level it has prevented me from being heard when I whisper or speaking quietly while speaking. But all I have to do is just quickly switch to my prior mic preset and it picks up my whispers just fine. If there is a way to still keep the background (PC fan noise), from being picked up from the mic and still able to speak quietly (at times), let me know. Thank you for help!

yeah, it just takes a lot more tinkering than you'd ever expect to get things exactly how you want them for the long-term. honor to be mentioned in the same sentence as mike! haha

@@HomeStudioPro thanks for finally getting back to me. I appreciate that. I’m just going to keep it where it’s at right now and since I don’t whisper that much and if I do, I can get really close to them I can do it and it’ll still block out the rest of the background noise without deleting the sound of my voice. I just got to make sure that my mouth is pretty close to the microphone no more than an inch away. Again, thanks for your video!

Thank you Brodie. Just upgraded to a RCP-duo and this was very helpful. Now if you have any suggestions for keeping my studio cool with no AC noise when it is 106F out there...

you're welcome! yes that's a problem for me too. try looking up a split-duct hvac system they're pretty quiet but do require professional installation

If i buy rodecaster 2. Can i get rid from adobe audition.
I use audition for noise removing, EQ and compression.
I don't need mixing, routing and sound pads.
Just want to save my time. And get good quality sound.
    Or any cheap alternative.

    • @HomeStudioPro
      @HomeStudioPro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, you can. Obviously can't go back and edit the audio... but you can process/EQ & use compression/expansion on it. That's how operate... no editing afterwards.
