I keep getting this Omega vs Tudor argument from the youtubers, but in reality they aren't in the same league. I went on to purchase a Black Bay 54, but I was really underwhelmed after holding it. In fact the PRX is much better finished than the Tudor Royal.
Tudor and Omega are going to stay right where they are on the totem pole until they release new IPs and stop centering their collection around one (or two) particular models. Omega has the capability to be innovative (Chrono Chime probably being a latest example), however when they do so, they’re still going to play it safe by always pertaining new works to the Speedmaster. But come on! At the least these guys can design something like a micro rotor to give us something new to look at through a case back while slimming down their cases! Anyways, I suggest your next “versus” video should be what we all really wanna see… MVMT VS INVICTA! P.S. My Omega is worn every Tuesday as opposed to my Pink BB Chrono and I am in love with that piece. However at the end of the day, the Speedmaster is the Speedmaster and it is just a better watch.
Great presentation! Response to your questions on Tudor: 1. Yes. Well built watches. Noticed their prices have gone up. My local AD used to give a small discount on Tudor's but not anymore. 2. Similar to early Rolex quality at a reasonable price. I can purchase two Tudor Black Bay's for the price of one Omega Seamaster 300M. I am a fan of both products but given a choice, I will buy the Omega watch. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
I have a bb58 blue and looking to get a green smp 300 for my 40th in about a year and a half. I don't feel like there is any friction amongst tudor and omega owners as there may be with rolex owners and either of these. The two models i listed above give you great value and reliability while offering a nice level of luxury akin to the Lexus level of watches. You want something nice but don't care as much about the flex
I do have a lot of love for both brands. I own 2 Tudors, a 58 blue and a 54. I chose tudor as to me they are amazing tool watches, that are made incredibly well with plenty of heritage. I would consider 2 omegas, a moonwatch professional and a pierce brosnan era blue seamaster. I feel they have gone down the path as rolex, made everything super shiny, flashy luxury. They are no longer the amazing tool watches they used to be. The same reason why I would only consider vintage pre ceramic rolex.
Omega by far as a case by case basis Omega and Rolex are on par of omega isn’t a tad better in the movement and finish department Tudor should be compared to longines which are both amazing watches
Both are fantastic brands and have great offerings. Previously I've owned four Tudors, but, my preference would be Omega. In the past I've put a ceiling of five thousand pounds that has ruled out what I've craved. Now I'm shrinking my collection and will buy accordingly when I can afford.
I’m considering heading to a trashy bordello this evening. Hoping to get my hands on the Omega Seamaster featured at 10:00, as I think it would be perfect in that environment. The gorgeous grey Seamaster on your wrist immediately before is much too classy.
I think Tudor is absolutely what Rolex used to be several decades ago. For example, I specifically remember the late 1980s and early 90s when you could buy a Rolex Submariner for a tiny fraction of the price they go for now days. And I say that factoring in wages, inflation, etc. As a result, it made Rolex so much more accessible to watch lovers back in those days. All that being said, I agree Tudor is not on the same level as Omega (at least not right now), but they are doing some great things. And I love my Tudor BB Monochrome 41. It may not be comparable to a new Sub, but it's a fantastic watch at a fraction of the price. And it's probably as close to the design language of a Rolex Sub as we're ever going to get.
Inagree Omega prices have been rising, but look at the competitors. Navitimer is the same RRP as the Speedy, aqua Terra is cheaper the the Date Just for example
Pre owned tudor is the undisputided value king in the luxury segment. Black bays and pelis around 2k mark is just unbeatable. However, taking money out of the equation then Omega is in a tier above.
Bruce, big fan here of your content. I’m going to throw a curve ball at you as an owner of many omegas, tudors, and Breitling watches. I personally put Breitling ahead of Tudor in build quality. They have heft, finish, and the new clasps are great. Do yourself a favor and try the new avenger 42 model. The bezel action is probably the best I’ve felt. Sub level. My opinion, but i personally love breitling. Have a good Christmas and do a review on the new black dial 42 mm avenger on bracelet. I’d appreciate it brother!
I've owned several of all three brands and I have to disagree. I find Omega QC to be a little unrefined. Definitely when compared to Rolex but also to Tudor. YMMV
I love my pelly lhd. But the bezel markings had darkened in colour, it’s almost 2 yrs old..it’s obv still under factory warranty. Still waiting on the markers to fall out like baby teeth..
While I admire Tudor and what they are able to do for the price, they seem to be stuck in a bit of a rut. I own a Pelagos and I feel like that’s a good Tudor representation of the brand. On the other hand I own or have owned over two dozen Omegas. I like their variety, quality and styles… however I completely agree with you and sincerely hope that they somehow take your advice to heart regarding their steady march upwards in price. This could be a brand killer, as much as I love the brand, I don’t think they have the market panache to start demanding $10,000+ for their baseline.
This is a Very Brave Video Bruce , hope the Pitchforks don't come for you Lol Personally can see a case for both , I own both & wear each with great joy. Tudor does what Rolex won't & supplies immediately upon release of a new watch while listening to the customers. Omega Imo have a terrible supply ethos & have slowed recently with movement upgrades unlike competitors.

Why not both? Black Bays are so cheap now (BB58's in particular), they're like at microbrand prices!! Pick a couple, have fun! This is great for collectors; we can collect heavy hitters from Omega, GS, Breguet and others with the remaining budget.
Very well made and thought out video as usual. I would choose Omega by default as the better of two brands that don't do much for me. They just bore me. With the exception of the Dark Side of the Moon Speedmaster. There isn't a single model in either of the two catalogs I'd choose over my Hublot Classic Fusion King Gold Titanium 45mm watch. And then, only if I kept my other Hublot which is the Hublot Classic Aerofusion Gold Chronograph.
As the owner of a couple of Black Bays, Omega certainly offers higher quality products. My daily driver is a BB36, and the only Omega I would replace it with is the AT38, which to me is slightly too dressy for every day. So for now I’m just sticking with my BB36 but am watching for a good deal on a first gen Planet Ocean.
Summer blue ultra deep is so dope! Good points, especially that Omega better be careful with that price creep as Tudor is nipping at its heels. But I think swatch group uses its other brands (like Tissot, Mido, etc.) as the more affordable entry level options, reserving Omega for the high end (for those who love and appreciate heritage and technical excellence, with the additional prestige just reflecting that). Tudor and Rolex are more like Seiko and Grand Seiko or Toyota and Lexus; appreciating the quality of the former can, but need not, drive you toward the higher-end prestige of the latter, and there is probably less of a difference between them on sheer technical specs than most people recognize, but still a big gap in prestige. Whether both keep creeping up in price will depend on the global economy and what happens to the middle class, who are the ones buying most of their bread and butter options. (Poor people think Rolex is a rich person's brand, but for the most part it really isn't.). I own Omega and Rolex but not (yet!) Tudor...
I have Tudor monochrome jubilee and Green dial Seamaster. Personally I like Tudor more, watch feel smaller even that both are 42mm, also as classic as Omega bracelet is, IMO it's dated and need taper version like Speedy have in these days. Tudor jubilee is so much more comfortable, especially for lefty, and personally I feel like bracelet looks more expensive with taper 20mm to 16-17mm. The quality is even, has to be really enthusiastic to see some quality difference
The Tudor Pelagos is an excellent watch, but the Omega's anti-magnetic movement is superior, offering greater efficiency, though it possesses a lower power reserve. Nevertheless, it's a wonderful TH-cam video. I must say, the Tudor bezel has a particularly satisfying feel when rotated.
Rolex makes great looking, great functioning, purpose built watches. The problem I see is that they really are not high horology, and they seem to be resting more on their reputation as aspirational pieces for the middle class rather than exceptional watch making, while moving up market. I’m not sure how far that works
Not really comparable brands. Even though I prefer Tudor, Omega is at Rolex brand positioning. Only wish they'd make a 39mm seamaster. They'd sell like hot cake
@@dmoneydmoney6050it really doesnt. Only thing Rolex has over Omega is value retention and a bracelet. Omega are well above Tudor….not bashing tudor they make great watches butnthey arent in the same league as Omega on many levels
@dmoneydmoney6050 I am a fan of all 3 brands. However, looking at revenue Rolex is 1, Omega 3 and Tudor 17. Honestly, tudor is not finished to the same degree as the other 2 when you have them in person. Rolex at retail seems great value, but especially a couple of years ago the price on things like OPs were just silly for the watch you got. It's coming closer to reality now though. Omega nicely fits in between Rolex and Tudor on pricing, all be it with too many variants that aren't always needed
@@Talon173And don't forget Omega watches are riddled with parts from China. It's a well known fact that the Swatch group has been outsourcing from China for years. This is inexcusable for what Omega charges
Tudor feels more casual and tooly than Omega. I ditched the black bay and bought a Seamaster 300, then I purchased a Pelagos FXD. I think Tudor makes great tool/beater watches but I personally wouldn’t consider them to be luxury.
Omega still wins. Just picked up an Aqua Terra small seconds in the sales and its incredible. Dials, finishing, cases, movement are still better than Tudor. Thats not bashing on Tudor, they make great watches but Omega are still a step ahead. They do need to thin down some watches and shrink the 300m to 40mm though. Tudor make some great tool watches with the Pelagos, FXD and BB58 but i do feel like they need a bit of fun back in the brand like they had with the P01, North Flag, Monte Carlo
OMEGA and TUDOR serve two slightly different markets. Tudor makes a more tool type watch. Omega also makes tool watches and some of the most beautiful dress watches out there. IMHO Omega is better finished, dressier and has the better of the two in-house movements. The Omega has as high a level of fit and finish as Rolex. Tudor is more toned down, more brushed as opposed to polished in its finishing. The Tudor movements are also excellent but Omega finishes their movements and certifies them to a higher degree of accuracy. TBH I like them both equally as they serve different purposes. You can’t go wrong with either one if they appeal to your personal taste.
I own a few pieces from Rolex and Omega, the only reason why i don't buy any Tudor is because the quality is bad, real bad. Especially when it's place under a loupe. Tudor can't be compared to the likes of Rolex and Omega, period. Even Longines is better than Tudor in terms of history and quality.
As an owner of several timepieces from both a Rolex and Omega, I find this comparison troubling. Tudor can be compared to Longines, all day and every day. Never to Omega. It’s freaking crazy to start with this. Based on history, Omega crushes Rolex. To compare the brand to Tudor is moronic. Honestly, I get pissed off seeing these brands being compared so often by TH-camrs.
I own no watches from either brand, but I could imagine having a collection of only five or six Tudor watches, and not feeling that anything was missing. BB39, BB Heritage Red Bezel, Royal Chocolate, 1926, BB Bronze… perhaps I’ve not gotten deep enough in the weeds with Omega, but Tudor has always resonated with me.
I owned and enjoyed the Tudor blackbay 58 until i acquired the Omega 300m. The Tudor is a good watch but the Omega diver just blows the blackbay away.......oh except for the bezel action but who really cares too much about that?
In my opinion they are pretty similar in terms of quality with Omega being a step above. That being said, Tudors are usually more wereable and age better. Modern Omegas look dated in just a few years. Especially the seamaster with the weird hands, the horrible looking bracelet, the waves on the dial and the valve esape. Too many things going on that make the watch not look clean at all and make you get tired of it. Less is more
What Tudor need to do is get rid of those awful , fragile , scratchable and fading aluminium bezel and replace it with a fine brushed or matte ceramic bezel ( like in the pelagos and the new pelagos FXD GMT ) . the pelages FXD GMT has the best Tudor bezel to date with the fully limes matte ceramic bezel . The matte ceramic is the best of both worlds , the matte finish appealing and fitting into the vintage inspired vibe of Tudor plus giving us the durability , scratch resistance and non fading advantages of ceramic !
Awesome video, Bruce. I don’t dispute folks saying Omega quality is better, it def is. But the fact remains that a ton of people don’t see it that way because so many of Tudor’s designs are superior and Omega’s look like toys.
Tudor and Omega are not in the same conversation. Tudor are both boring and ugly as hell. Now granted, that's a subjective opinion. But what's not subjective is the Omega are way ahead on movement, finishing, history and brand. Omega certainly are not perfect, and though I'm a big fan there's certainly much you can be critical of with them. But comparing them to Tudor is just wrong. Absolutely sick of hearing about Tudor from EVERY watch youtuber going. Sorry, they are not that great in my opinion. A brand like Longines gives you far better history and more interesting watches for better value.
Omega is overpriced and over hyped. They should be priced competitively with Tudor, which has more class as well. All the movie and marketing BS lowers Omega's desirability to me.
Omega is in between Tudor and Rolex although they are definitely underperforming with the history and brand recognition they have. Terrible bezel action on all the divers and thick cases along with poor bracelets and clasps let the brand down. They certainly need to replace many models rather than constantly tweaking old ones while cutting the catalogue in half. Tudor are improving year on year but they are essentially retro Rolex homages. Both brands have ramped up prices much too much.
Tudor is now starting to put a Tfit on their bracelet. Omega is not listening to its customers. Omega lume is subpar and top heavy. Tudor is starting to make thinner watches. I have the Aqua Terra $6200 and went for four Tudors. Pelagos, Pro, opaline gmt and BB41 each alI for less than $5000. I enjoy them all but my Rolex submariner Starbucks is on another level.

Hello greenerick fancy seeing you here. Omega for the win.
The anti magnetic argument is a moot point since Rolex and even Tudor aren't getting magnetized so it's a pointless comparison
Tudor is a Rolex poorer cousin. Not as good movements or feel. Omega should be classed against Rolex as Tudor is more tag level
Love and own both brands. But Omega is my favorite brand.
Omega competes with Tudor and not Rolex. That should say everything
@@dmoneydmoney6050it really doesnt. Only thing Rolex has over Omega is value retention and a bracelet. Omega are well above Tudor….not bashing tudor they make great watches butnthey arent in the same league as Omega on many levels
@dmoneydmoney6050 price, heritage, quality. I'm all aspects they compete and compare with Rolex. I say this as a Tudor fan
Omega=Rolex Longines=Tudor 💁
That bronze gold ck 👌
Tudor putting an exhibition case back on the 925 is beyond belief 🤦
Tudor recently has done REALLY well and made a lot of progress but lets be real they are not Omega......
Omega is far superior
No it's not, it's not far superior, watch for watch one is just slightly better.
Omega >>>> rolex
Tudor is not near omega in any way haha omega is so above tudor 😅
I've owned both brands and there really isn't any difference in quality, despite what people think and say.
Most Omega models are "heavy hitters", whereas most Tudors are not.
Less is more
No real comparrison, get both.
Black date wheel on a grey dial looks bad on that Omega IMO.
Of course omega. Why waste time to compare?
What Tudor need to do is get rid of those awful , fragile , scratchable and fading aluminium bezel and replace it with a fine brushed or matte ceramic bezel ( like in the pelagos and the new pelagos FXD GMT ) . the pelages FXD GMT has the best Tudor bezel to date with the fully limes matte ceramic bezel . The matte ceramic is the best of both worlds , the matte finish appealing and fitting into the vintage inspired vibe of Tudor plus giving us the durability , scratch resistance and non fading advantages of ceramic !
Tudor is a youtube brand.
😂
Awesome video, Bruce. I don’t dispute folks saying Omega quality is better, it def is. But the fact remains that a ton of people don’t see it that way because so many of Tudor’s designs are superior and Omega’s look like toys.
Tudor movements aren't salida anymore.
Omega is more prestigious brand, tudor is same level as longines and oris
Cant take tudor seriously with the snowflake hands
Exactly...and I'll take Longines almost every time over Tudor.
@@jimlittle5769 same, I've owned watches from both brands, will pick longines every time
Omega is overpriced and over hyped.
