I stumbled upon this U-Tube when searching for music for our retreat, the theme of which was “God’s Rest, and What Should It Mean To Us?” This song was perfect as our retreat theme song, and we used it several times per day.
OUR QUESTION, HOWEVER, WAS: …..RESTING IN THE JOY OF ‘WHAT’ THOU ART?’ Who knows why the pronoun is “What,” and not “Who?” Jesus isn’t a “what,” but a “Who!”

What was the originally intent, I wonder?
The songwriter must have had a specific reason for choosing "What" over "Who".
Could it be distinguishing the great difference between God's Being, His greatness beyond comprehension or expression - compared to the "who" mankind is? (mankind is temporal, flesh, limited. God is eternal, He dwells in light (He is Light!) , He is Sovereign over all, magnificent that words cannot express.... Etc)
