Nice unboxing 👍 for explanation of the sleipnir, it is (not only) designed for the german room and the knife must be open with both hands (according to the paragraph 42a of law for folding knifes). For us it's important, that no one can open the knife with only one hand. 🤦 So you can tighten the resistance with one of the big rings, with the two holes, on the bearing of the blade. Your advantage that you're living in a land, where's no one interests how a folding knife could be opened. 😉 btw. I've got the number 079 of the sleipnir here at home. 😉 And the opening with both hands is valid for the Valhalla too. 🤗

I thought I missed my chance to get one. I had been waiting for the release and had been told next year. So I missed it when they released them. I talked to Dirk and he said they had a few "extras". So im hoping I may have a prototype left over on the way. I think I'm going to be as excited as you were when you opened it.

Info. From midgards messer reveals th mnufactureing of The Lockin Valhalla was contracted to another knife maker in Germany. They did not say who. My guess is Boker.

On the backspine of the Valhalla it says in Italian Is translated to English the mechanism inspiration came from the lockin day lockin knife.
If you Google lockin Valhalla you will find a video with the Italian designer with the same knife but made a little bit differently. More refined.

How would you compare the sleipnir to a Medford? I like the short stout Medfords but they are about twice the price.

@@DersNoNem I believe bestech is chinese, that is why off grid knives can sell their folders so cheap. They are actually great quality too.
